  • KUSA dumped the outdated graphics, now when will they dump the outdated lady with the mullet?!

  • @TVTfan Not soon enough... She is dull. And now that the male anchor has been replaced with another graying man, the network evening news is for the old folks.

  • I miss this theme/graphics package...

  • I miss the theme (I'll admit, its longevity made it get tiresome to me), but not the graphics. They're ugly and looked like something that some station in rural Montana would use because they can't afford Hothaus or Giant Octopus and the locals would nonetheless find it impressive.

  • This is now officially no longer the open for KUSA - they have retired the KUSA theme as of October 17th

  • That is such a shame. I am not from Denver, but I discovered this theme here on the internet and loved it; it is such a powerful theme for a news report. I just listened to a sample of the new theme on "SouthernMedia's News Music Search Archive" and it pales in comparison to the KUSA theme.

  • Ya. It really sucks!

  • @trodaikid1983 They still use it for talent though.

  • Note the text "PRESENTED IN HIGH DEFINITION"...that's always present every time during the 9News title sequence; in fact, 2009 will be the year all OTA TV channels will be exclusively digital.

  • Digital and HD are two different things.

  • Really?

  • Digital is crisper. Widescreen is crisper than that, and 16:9. HD is that but with 1080 pixels per inch.

  • @hkfreak Digital is crisper, true. Widescreen is just bigger. There is apsolutly nothing different about the picture quality of a 16:9 screen vs a 4:3 screen. There are 2 types of High Definition: Progressive Scanning and Interlaced Scanning. the 'P' in 1080p means that each video frame is transmitted as a whole in a single sweep. You can have a 1080 pixel screen but not have it presented in HD.

  • Man KUSA loves their spinny NBC logo things

  • Always ripping the peacock of its feathers...
