He first masked the zebra in a duplicated layer. Then, he used the Content Aware Fill on the background to extract the zebra and work with the duplicated layer to move or scale it!

First, open the image and then duplicate it. Make a selection over the subject you wanna move. Go to the original layer and choose Edit>Fill or press Delete or Shift+F5 to activate the command. Choose Content-Aware in this diaolog box and there it is!! Use the mask to show just the subject in the duplicated layer.

The ideia is to extract all you DON'T WANT on BG and then use the duplicated layer to move or reveal what you want.

@HFCHSvids I'd be very surprised if it was the case. Photoshop won't "create" new content, but wisely copy content over the selected area.

For some odd reason, when I use the healing brush, and the fill for content aware it does the same thing the usual photoshops do, it get's all blurry and messed up. I am using a free trial and I got it from the adobe website perhaps that is why? I am not sure, I am just kind of frustrated because I really wanted to try it out and it looked horrid.

Shift Delete seems to just delete (on PC at least). However I found that Shift + F5 seems to work for PCs. Try it.

haha..thanks commenter. My first 2 videos on trying to figure out Content Aware, both posters said "shift+del" and thanks to your post, i now know its backspace NOT delete. I was getting pissed it wasn't working with Delete...now i know why.

it's the same result I would get with Image Doctor plugin for photoshop.

It's nice that Adobe added this feature, but with the ImgDoc plugin you still have control over it & options
