@lostboyscrew - Not sure where you got your incorrect information but the Intek H-520 PLUS is supplied with rechargable batteries and charger. The H-520 PLUS works 100% on rechargable batteries and is in our opinion head and shoulders in front of the 38 or 42.

@cobraworxshopz Sorry but i assumed that the voltage supplied by 6 rechargeable batteries, wouldn´t be suficient at full 4w tx with such large display :o ! because rechargeable batteries are 1.2v and alkaline 1.5v

the Alan42 comes with one battery holder for 6 alkaline and ANother for 8 rechargeable! for me the autonomy and power are two major points on any HT

@lostboyscrew - The Intek H-520PLUS will operate at 4 watts RF output on 6 x rechargable batteries, not for long period of time but it will do 4 watts on 6 x AA rechargable Ni-Mh batteries. Pretty impressive really. Also don't forget, it is the "current" not the "voltage" that is important with batteries. Some rechargable cells are really high current capacity, ideal for this Handheld. 73.

What about modulation?

I heard about low microphone sensitivity when batteries are low.

@fewbytes - Hi, the modulation is very good once adjusted internally on the main PCB. The modulation does decrease as battery life dies, although once the modulation is correctly adjusted, this becomes less apparent. 73.

All our Technicians wear Nitrile gloves to prevent fingertip corrosive salt from contaminating PCB's etc. It is also standard practise in professional electronics labs.  Regards, Cobraworxshopz

Indeed, if INTEK made an SSB handheld they would sell like hot-cakes! I know several of our Technicians would want one to replace their Dragon SSB handheld units. I wouldn't hold my breath though, the FCC have made it VERY clear they dissaprove of SSB "CB" Handhelds, this being the main reason why the Dragon's were originally discontinued. Regards.

What's up with the nitrile gloves? Why not wear an earthed or grounded wrist strap? A box fanatic! I can't blame you, I do the same thing. I have all the boxes to all my radios too LOL.

All our Technicians wear gloves and have both ankles shackled to the bench with grounded earth straps ;-)

Original Boxes are great, especially for transporting safely or when selling your Transceiver. You can not imagine how much extra money original packaging attracts.

i got a reply from thunderpole but not good. i got two intek 3030 off them when i got them out of the box to charge they didn't work so i think thunderpole are just ripping people off they are bad people to do business with.
