  • Wow!, you people sure do have zappa's dick up your butt

  • This is so good. I have it on a video disc, but haven't seen it in a while. Thank you for the upload.

  • Zappa was conducting because he does it well and every member of the band had the utmost respect for him , you just can't and really shouldn't criticise probably the greatest musician of our time. In other words don't fuckin try n nit pick and get back to watching oasis or some other SECOND rate band, no offence!

  • Frank Zappa - also as unnecessary conductor

  • pink floyd cannot be compared with zappa.. they led different lifestyle while making music... floyd never went to the extremes with music, but certainly did with drugs while making music... i ain't saying anything negative about floyd, but zappa's productivity showed that brain can be powerful without drugs.. drug is just a shortcut for lazy people trying to achieve something... zappa is the best :)

  • @pedalla The guys in Pink Floyd never used drugs, thank you very much, aside from their original frontman, Syd Barrett, who went loony on acid. After that NONE of the band members did drugs, unless you consider cigarettes a drug.

  • @mindfreak990 well, didn't know that... however, i still think they cannot be compared with zappa... they achieved a lot too and they had great music, however zappa did music that wasn't that easy for average person to hook upon... and , amazingly, still gained a lot of success..

drugs.. well i like pink floyd and this is a really nice thing to hear afterall..

  • @pedalla Yeah, the psychedelia creates a lot pf misconceptions. Zappa played off of extreme complexity via mass musicality and composure of instrumentation, while Floyd focused on more projection expansion in the areas of their creativity. Both artists has amazing vocal and instrumental music, but Zappa was, as you said, superior, in the amount of complexity and strong composition to his music.

  • @mindfreak990 dude, david gilmour had an admitted coke problem in the 80's and i knew this and im a noob (sorta) to floyd. So i guess your just talking out your ass right now, Huh?

  • @rwk1983 I was talking acid, dumbshit. Gilmour and Wright had admitted coke problems, but basically everyone was clean after Barrett went downhill, minus previous addiction problems. BOOM ROASTED, CUNT

  • Why does everybody talks about Pink Floyd on Zappa video? They don't have a tenth of his musicianship.

  • Super neato

  • thank god for them///1111

    they're better than 'Floyd'

    they give me hope!

  • The unison between Ed Mann and Tommy Mars at 1.37 is especially beautiful.

Hearing such technical writing (and playing) remains, to this day, a unique experience at a rock gig.

  • "The modern American composer refuses to die".

  • Love it.

  • SOnO scOnvOltO dalla seriOsità del MaestrO ZAPPA, qui ...piangO !!! Francis Vincent Emile Zappa... rivieni !!!!! (Hawaï è sOlO per pinguins surfriders, OK !?!?!)

  • LOVE THE WAY ED MANN'S SNARE MARCHING DRUM ANSWERS TO STEVE VAI'S GUITAR AT 3:40 ...IT IS AN EPIC INSTANT OF ETERNITY !!!!! But dOn't yOu think TOmmy Mars is less sexy than Chad W. in this track ?!?(and Ed is definitively less less... less sexy than RUTH UNDERWOOD !!!) ;-O))

  • @giotto3cento

I think every male Frank Zappa fan (and quite a few of the female as well) has fallen madly in love with Ruth Underwood at some point.

  • @5jerry1 : I think it's because she didn't wear ...nO sOcks ! (watch cradstein 's : "Frank Zappa-Stinkfoot live 1974") ;-O))

  • Ed Mann - mOins sexy - mais digne successeur de Ruth UnderwOOd ! BravO à YOURARF pOur la richesse de ses videOs (audiO...) ! ARRRRRF'`"*

  • The quality of this is great! I wanna see the other songs from this show in this quality!!

  • @Jerebear57 I always thought that was James Brown... :D

  • Gotta love Vai's polyrhythm signature ;)

  • Great version.

  • really hate those portraits at the end of the song cauise you can´t see the band

  • Made my day !!!

  • It's hard for me to hear this song without the insane guy screaming "ZAAAAPPAAAAA" at the end.

Awesome anyhow, this is one of my favorite songs.

  • "God help the winos, the junkies and the weirdos"

    Brilliant.

Americans should recognize that Zappa was just genius. Fugg the Beatles, Hendrix, Zepplin....none of these guys have half the catalog, 1/64th of the musical depth and diversity that Zappa has.

Cant wait for the Zappa movie.

  • Young Steve Vai on guitar.

  • FZ,...the master of "bogus splendor",...and yes, what a fantastic global anthem it would make

  • Geez, Ed Mann is crazy. Running around like mad to get to the next instrument. Amazing song, amazing performance, great video.

  • @elfo19noob Ed Mann's SKILLS have skills...

  • great musician :)

  • 1:37 MOSTRUOSO! :-D

  • top tittie.

  • Is it just me or does Chad Wackerman look like Timothy McVeigh?

  • It's not just you, he does a bit.

  • @slgordon3 He kinda does but having met him he's much nicer :)

  • @r3dfiv3 - Plus he's an amazing drummer. That's awesome that you got to meet him, from the interviews and stuff I've read he seems like he is a cool, down to earth person.

  • @slgordon3

    He really does!

  • My Genius!

  • Simply amazing - We miss him so much...

  • Thanks to YourArf for putting this up! These guys are by far the baddest "mothers" ever! All I have to say is 4:26!!!

  • THIS SHOULD BE OUR NATIONAL ANTHEM!

  • This should just be the global anthem

  • This is my favorite version of Strictly Genteel, and this IMHO is one of Frank's better bands.

  • If someone is conducting you, aren't you supposed to look at them?

  • i think it was mostly for reference, like if the band fell apart and needed to get back on track, instead of purely following his wacky dance.

  • and i just noticed that i've been (not on purpose) replying to a lot of your posts not even knowing its you...

  • i just noticed that too! Funny, As I was opening this page, i noticed your name in the other tab. cheers!

  • awesome! love it...

  • It is hard to laugh these days, with all the terrible problems in the world !!!

Frank ....I miss you man !!

And God bless the mind of the man in the street !!

The greatest modern day composer and guitar player ! Z

  • Amen

  • Ed Mann is the mann!!

  • Lord have mercy on the people in England, for the terrible food these people must eat.

  • Really interesting he gave the snare part to Ed Mann in percussion - so miss Frank! Thanks for hosting da posting.
