wtf are these guys runnin in theyre shit neons? i have a 95 neon, with a 98 sohc 420a stock as a rock, aem intake, k&n filter, pace setter headers. and i can beat a 2002 ford mustang gt with k&n intake and dual 3" exhaust and i smoke on him all day long. i think i have a mild stage2 clutch but i doubt that makes a huge dif i also have bullet fenders, boxer side skirts and rear bumper, octane from bumper(r32) and a grade A carbon fiber evo hood, also a pace setter short shift and eurothane bushin
@bmxstreet6 My stock 97 SOHC neon would beat an eclipse and the v6 mustangs in the quarter easily. The dodge neons are just so much lighter. I beat the mustang and the eclipse by a car length and a half in the quarter. Then we paird those two up and it was so close but the stang won. I have a 99 GS eclipse and i rape every neon that trys to match me any where from 10-12 lengths (stock ones) and 7-9 lengths (modded neons) so take the bull shit else were
call the chrysler dealship and ask the engine code if you dont believe me jackass . its people like you that ooze shit out their mouth without nothing the facts . NO NEONS have the 420a engine . the only dohc engine the neons came with is the ECC . look it up retard . its not a fucking 420a . 420a is a reverse flow engine with the intake manifold in the back and not the front .
the 420a is in the neon and eclipse, the only diffrence is the head is on backwards on the eclipse, it even says 420a on the side of my neon block and all over in my repair manual
google "neon ecc engine" . the 420a engine is only in avengers and eclipse from the factory . the blocks are all the same specs ( bore and stroke ) the only difference is the cylinder heads . most all the rotating assembly parts are the same .
i found nothing other than wiki which says (420a) in parenthesis. now you look up the 420a, you will find that there all the same , chrysler just put the intake to the front for there aplications and reversed it for the mitsu platform, sebring and avenger. its all the exact same as far as block and head

Neons come with a 420a ecc! Yes its a 420a you can't argue out of it that is what it is. But there of course are differences between mitsu and neon .

neons dont have 420a engines . this is a common misconception . neons have the sohc a855 or the dohc ecc . both are quite similar to the 420a though
