Is this the piece called "The Adventures of Joe 90"? I think I used to have the music for it when I was a kid, but it disappeared somewhere along the way.
the old guard actually uses synthetic heads, because they do not respond to damp or cold weather (as much). They used to use remo fiberskin, but i think they're switching to nylon. And no, they do not bounce as much as a modern kevlar or plastic marching head
ancient drums are wayyy different than modern snares. its not nearly as bouncy, but its still extremely easy to play all your rudiments on. i personally like ancient snare drums more than modern snares. its like playing on countertops with those things lol
not as much....its not any easier or harder, just a different type of control......me being a guy who is in college marching band and in fife and drum, it can get a little wierd going back and forth lol
I think the OG has 18 x 20... because I'm in the White in this video and I have a 16 x 18.. but definitely Cooperman all the Way!!! The OG just got new drums.. I think they are smaller... not sure of the size tho..
Seems like the biggest challenge would be adjusting to those rims. They look like they stand a good inch or more off the surface of the head. Incidentally, can imagine a bruised knuckle or two.
DCI Judge: "Hey, sounds a little thick there.... ....c'mon guys clean it up those rolls..."

really nice playing. and it's refreshing to hear a drum that sounds like a drum and not like a formica table top.

hahaha that nails it!

i think the drums that sound like a "formica table top" are harder to play then these, with these u can hide a lot of dirt and all that

@61moonshine 10,000 thumbs up on that statement!

no pay attention to what he actually typed!
he wrote it'd be hard to ADJUST TO THE RIMS. not ADJUST THE RIMS. the wooden rims are way taller than modern ones.

What kind of drums are those ? Are they a standard make, or custom made for the OG. Good drumming btw, very good.
