  • DCI Judge: "Hey, sounds a little thick there.... ....c'mon guys clean it up those rolls..."

  • some beat it some blow it.

fife and drum all the way

  • old school drumming rules. i really hate todays style of drumming

  • Is this the piece called "The Adventures of Joe 90"? I think I used to have the music for it when I was a kid, but it disappeared somewhere along the way.

  • I think it's safe to assume that these guys woo many a lady this way. :)

  • the old guard actually uses synthetic heads, because they do not respond to damp or cold weather (as much). They used to use remo fiberskin, but i think they're switching to nylon. And no, they do not bounce as much as a modern kevlar or plastic marching head

  • Calf heads?

  • do they have as much bounce as a regular marching snare

  • ancient drums are wayyy different than modern snares. its not nearly as bouncy, but its still extremely easy to play all your rudiments on. i personally like ancient snare drums more than modern snares. its like playing on countertops with those things lol

  • not as much....its not any easier or harder, just a different type of control......me being a guy who is in college marching band and in fife and drum, it can get a little wierd going back and forth lol

  • totally different style of playing, in my opinion one is not harder than the otherm just different

  • really nice playing. and it's refreshing to hear a drum that sounds like a drum and not like a formica table top.

  • hahaha that nails it!

  • i think the drums that sound like a "formica table top" are harder to play then these, with these u can hide a lot of dirt and all that

  • @61moonshine 10,000 thumbs up on that statement!

  • Actually, the those are 17x20, and the new ones are 17x18. Just a few inches shorter

  • dude wtf are you talking about with teh rim u dont eed to adjust it man u are a frigen retard

  • no pay attention to what he actually typed!

he wrote it'd be hard to ADJUST TO THE RIMS. not ADJUST THE RIMS. the wooden rims are way taller than modern ones.

  • those drums are 16 inch deep rope tension snare drums made by cooperman.

  • I think the OG has 18 x 20... because I'm in the White in this video and I have a 16 x 18.. but definitely Cooperman all the Way!!! The OG just got new drums.. I think they are smaller... not sure of the size tho..

  • @Dwg784 17 x 21

  • @Dwg784 the new ones are 17" by 18"

  • What kind of drums are those ? Are they a standard make, or custom made for the OG. Good drumming btw, very good.

  • CAN I SAY CLEAN!

  • Very cool stuff!

Seems like the biggest challenge would be adjusting to those rims. They look like they stand a good inch or more off the surface of the head. Incidentally, can imagine a bruised knuckle or two.
