  • I'm from Holland and I like these Irish folk songs in Gaelic: it sounds so exotic and it's all in Europe!

  • I love it when they all sing together :)

  • It's Gaelic people i should know because i'm Irish.

  • i love seaweed ;)

  • only the irish could sing about flamin seaweed and make it sound cool. love the song.

  • Is maith liom an leagan a rinne Celtic Woman, ach tá sé seo gleoite :)

  • Ah, good ole trad music! In our native Gaeilge, as well! *Feels 'National Pride'* (lol)

  • what is the language of this song?

  • @SQUAD11ELEVEN It's the Irish language, the native tongue of Ireland

  • @SQUAD11ELEVEN

    it's Gaelic my boy

a tongue only spoken throughout Ireland no where else.

  • lol I have the cd, brings back memories.

  • It's Irish (:

I hope to see these guys in Milwakee!!!

  • @SonicandDBZgeek13 are they coming to Milwaukee??

  • @sillyjontag321 Yea they did but I wasn't there. ):

  • @SonicandDBZgeek13 awhh.. and Milwaukee's only two hours south drive from where i live :(

  • It is Gaelic (Irish) not (Scotch) Gaelic :)

  • wich is the language that altan sing??

  • @kofemord Unless I'm mishearing it, it's Gaelic, the traditional Irish language.

  • Great version alright -not as cloying as Celtic Woman's - though that one is more amusing. Each to her own.

  • Xорошо!

  • They are going to be in Sendim interceltic festival

  • Love an t-amhrán. Raibh míle maith agat. :)

  • I went to a concert of them last night!

  • Finally I got it...

Without a lie but since 8 Years I've been searching for this song

  • Isn't there an archaeological team claiming to have found atlantis?

  • through the times this song keeps coming back , sung by almost every celtic group

it`s a great song , i like the version of Clannad , which i heard the frist time back in 1973

  • Whoa! Dude, 4 sumbody who's used 2 Celtic Woman's version, this sounds REALLY strange! Note I said "strange" and not "bad" or "horrible" b/c I love her voice!

  • @Karen21242 They both sound excellent, but i can identify a bit of guitar playing and some drums, whereas Celtic Woman's musicians use primarily violin and cello. And I agree with you there, her version is amazing!

  • @Fireheart528

Yeah, I noticed that Altan is good 4 guitar. "Donal Agus Morag" Also has good guitar.

  • @Karen21242 I'll have to check that out. Although sometimes you can't find a better violinist than Mairead Nesbitt; her music is absolutely amazing! I mainly listen to Celtic Woman's version when i'm in the mood for a fast paced Irish song.

  • @Fireheart528

O man no kidding about Mairead! A lot of ppl say that Charlie Daniels is the best, but even though he's good, there's no beating Mairead! Heck, she makes me want 2 learn the violin! :D

  • @Karen21242 Every genre of music has its best artists; Charlie Daniels and Alan Jackson rule the country music roost in my opinion. But only Enya and Loreena McKennitt come close to matching Mairead Nesbitt.

  • @Karen21242 You said it! Theres a band called the "Flat Mountain Girls" that plays bluegrass music--the heel-tappin', fast-paced, good ol' home grown Appalaichian Mountain music! Makes me want learn how to play the banjo; I don't really have much patience when it comes to playing a violin. Charlie Daniels is good, but try listening to Jerry Reed--one of the best American folk musicians ever! Its impossible to be mad listening to him.

  • Irish folks are not only Celtic but have a substantial amount of ancient Iberian ancestry , or Celtiberian. This is why we have dark haired blue/green eyed people in our population. They call us the black Irish.

  • @MonkeyMagic88 DUDE backwards the iberians are celt they founded hispanya and portugal they are celts many people in europe are related to us becouse we are the indo europeans from atlantis

  • @dagnab1 what do you mean by 'we are the indo europeans from atlantis'? I wonder if the legend of that city is really true or not; it could be that we haven't looked in the right place yet is the reason that we haven't found it.

  • @Fireheart528 well its in the traces of culture and teachings the actual city is destroyed and the mid-atlantic rift is a real big scar evidence point that the city went under techtonic plates ifso we will never see it agin

  • @dagnab1 Well, how do we know that they didn't build another in a different place, or that they are building another as we speak? Look up 'undersea colony', and tell me what ye think of the idea.

  • @Fireheart528 OH i agree totally many cultures held on to the ledgons and kept knowlege taught by them through the mystery schools , heck they called the beggings of america the new atlantis, haha i think the would raise it from the sea if they could . All evidence points that mid atlantic rift is how the rements of original site may have went under techtonic plates ,but we have the parts left behind when they left atlantis and we have much of what they tought to the world, so that is still cool

  • Ta siad an-mhaith ar fad.Taim ag stuidear siad anois sa colaiste agus ta siad an suimuil.

  • Is this the same song as the Anuna version?

  • @rayzmund It's the same text, but a different setting.

  • I am sure I have been reincarnated!!

  • This is one of my favourite songs of all time.

  • Conas ta tu?? Yea, that's pretty much all the Irish I remember from my semester in Irish.

  • Altan visited Oulu a couple of weeks ago, their concert was fantastic and I received all the band members signatures to my copy of their 25th Anniversary Celebration album. =) Really an unforgetable evening!

  • Nothing to said! Just listen it!

  • uamhnach!

  • westie97,I would absolutely not miss the chance to see them if the oppertunity presents itself. From just what I've seen of their videos,I envy your chance to see them in person

  • Tolle Musik. Kenne das Stück schon seit Jahren und habe es hier endlich wiedergefunden!

  • I love this vid.Meav's version sounds like what it's intended to be,a concert version by a trained singer. This one sounds like a great group that went to the pub, ordered a pint, opened their insturment cases and said "let's all have a great time and sing the old songs".I absolutely love the folksy sound.

  • If you ever get the chance to see them live DO IT! I saw them at a smal theater company and it was like sitting in the pub. A fantastic perfomance!

  • Wow. What an incredible piece of music!

  • This is my favorite Irish Song and one of my favorite Irish groups. They are great in person.

  • Makes me want to dance..and collect some seaweed!

  • sitting in the eifel

  • I listen to this version of the song almost every day! I "luv" it!

Thank you for posting this video! :-)

  • Love this song!!! Have for a while now.

  • I like Meav's version a lot more

  • Well I can see why. It's much more commercial and meant to appeal to a wider audience.

  • dulaman is great song - in almost every version Ive heard so far :-)

  • I'm in love with this song. Its beautiful

  • awsome song so fun to listen to

  • dulaman means seaweed in irish

  • Seriously? Wow, I never knew that. :)

  • foghlaím an t- amhràn seo agus b´fhéidir go rabh sé níos éasca mà thuighfeadh mise na focail..níl dulaman sa focloir.. aon duine...??

  • What does that mean?

  • @iasc21

    Dúlamán = seaweed

but the more common word for seaweed as gaelige is feamainn

  • @iasc21 Ceapaim go "seaweed" is ea "Dúlamán" as béarla, ach nílim cinnte...

  • Tá siad go hiontacht!

  • everytime that i listen to that song i fall into another world...amazing

    an ancient celt reborn

  • @rombo1982 I agree--that happens to me everytime i listen to any song thats played by someone who knows how to play it. Sometimes when i listen to bluegrass, theres a few songs that always tell me something that can't be said in words--something that flows in the vibrations and melody of the music that you can't find the words to describe. Irish songs definitely do that, but it takes a special person to make it a surreal experience.

  • @rombo1982 so so sooooo true

  • @rombo1982 You do know its about seaweed right? Hehe, its a great song and this is a great version.
