As morbid as it may sound, your music will be played at my wifes' memoriil when the time comes as well as mine. My favorites are; Sweet hour of prayer, In my Room, Beautiful Savior, and the Lords Prayer. God Bless and keep up the good work. Your voice is a blessing. Semper Fi

  • Delightful! Do you have any restrictions on the use of your hymns within my church? I'm a minister and many of my elderly would enjoy your presentation of these traditional hymns within our services. Keep up the good work...and you might want to get your "vocal folds" insured.

  • You sing soooo beautifully (all 4 of you lol). Honestly though. Just beautiful!!!!!

  • I wept. A very moving rendition of this hymn I love so much. Nothing does it for me like these old songs. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for bringing me into a quiet meditation with The Father while I listened.

  • If I have a favorite gospel hymn, this is it. Love to hear 'I'll Go Where You Want Me To Go, Dear Lord.'

  • I created a video response of a multi-track I just completed. I only spent a couple hours on it which included learning 3 of the other parts. But I had seen your videos before and was inspired. Great work and not as easy as it looks!

  • This is the kind of music that all Churches should be singing, beautiful it is.

    :)

  • Always been one of my favorite hymns, but to hear and see it done a capella with such mastery of each of four parts by the same man is nothing short of amazing! Thank you so much for blessing my soul!

  • Truly beatiful, you have an amazing voice and an impressive range. Thank you for sharing it! :D

  • Vance, great job on one of the most beautiful spiritual songs ever. If this arrangement done super by you don't give you goosebumps and some emotion then things are really wrong. Are you around Kansas City MO or Ks? I live in Topeka Ks and was just wondering. You do such good work on all your arrangement here on youtube. I especially like your Lost in the Stars arrangement which 1992 Keepsake does too. Keep up the good work as i enjoy your work here. LaMar Elliott

  • this rendition of sweet hour of prayer brought tears to my eyes and joy to my soul. If Vance has a cd of this music that is as good as this song I'll buy it NOW.

  • this is amazing... i've always loved motabs version, but this is so creative, LOVE it! Great job, man!!

    Demerris

  • I love your songs! AWESOME!!!

  • WOW - nuff said

  • I've only just discovered your barbershop multitracks, thank God I've found them now. You do a fantastic job of recording these Gospel songs & vids and as a bass Barbershop singer myself, I'll now drive my family mad by playing them all the time.

Please keep up the great work.

  • I found your channel yesterday while uploading videos from our Quartet, and I think you are just AWSOME. you do a FANTASTIC job on all the songs I have heard so far. please keep posting your songs, they are uplifting to the children of God. I could watch you all day. God Bless and keep you.

  • Hello, Vance. I still play this song every chance I get, it is so beautiful, don't pay attention to what people tell you. I was reading what @etr4039 had posted, don't know the whole story but you do a terrific job with your videos. Good stuff, my friend.

  • Inspirational. Thank you, Vance.

  • Vance,

I have to know where can I purchase the sheet for this tune. We are looking to do a number in church in September and this would be perfect.

By the by, it gave me goose pimples, thankes for this recording, it is simply inspiring.

P.S I sucribed to you, this is my first subscription.

    David

  • Simply wonderful!

  • Thank you so much. This one brought a smile and maybe a tear, well, so did Amazing Love. The BBS style really stands out in this one and it's great. Brings back some fond memories! -dk

  • 27 tracks - that's a lot of work to get them tight. Congrats.

  • WOW-- Loved this one!!

  • I love Barbershop harmonies. Well done, Thou good and faithful servant! I think Jesus would approve! Awesome!

  • Beautiful, it reminds me of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. I wonder if that is the same arrangement.

  • Absolutely beautiful! Thank you for sharing with a needy world. I can feel your compassion for our Saviour - keep it up, please.

  • This is just outstanding.

    This goes to my favorites.

    jdt

  • You are great. Beautiful voice. Wonderful talent.

    trevororrell

  • one of the old classics...love it !!!

  • One of the finest things on YouTube. I'm really jealous - I sang in a Barbershop quartet for 27 years, but we never sang gospel music. My 72 year-old vocal cords won't reach either tenor or bass any more. Great stuff!

  • Man that is Pathetic. I mean really pitiful !! That has to be one of the most breathtakingly beautiful pieces of music on this medium ! Do you sell cd's ? I just discovered you this morning and you have blessed me and I thank you for sharing that with us. John

  • Wow . . . . . Wow. Wow. Wow.

  • so crisp and clean

once again great work my friend

  • I really loved this. It's so very beautiful! Very amazing what you did with a multitrack recording! I'm pleased that you are using your talent to sing songs that honor God, for the Lord Jesus Christ. Don't be discouraged when people say negative things -- that only means that you're threatening the evil one, and in his territory and he doesn't like it. I think it means you're on the right "track"!

  • THIS IS GREAT WANT TO SING WITH U

  • WOULD LIKE TO TRY AND SING WITH YOU

  • WOULD LIKE TO SING WITH U

  • LOVELY...........

  • This is Beutifull Great harmonies and clarity Good Job!!

  • great !

  • absolutely beautiful! I love your music!

  • Wow, all i can do is say a-men, pure talent and the grace of God. "I can do anything through Him, who gives me strength." I truly thank you and hope you continue to bless thousands of people with such a blessing from God.

  • This is awe-inspiring. An artistic and technological achievement (given the sound-on-sound audio/video mix) I'd say. And thanks for your reply to my question about Wavepad and USB mic-ing a PC. Thanks for lifting us up!

  • The hair on my arms stood up....this from a former Sweet Adeline, four years as a baritone + one tenor. This is one of my favorite hymns. Thanks SO much for sharing.

  • Ok, I've watched and listened to this now about 20 times. HOW did you do the breathing? You cannot be singing those long phrases on one breath. Did you just stagger it with the multitracks? It's truly magnificent.

  • Great job Vance!

Sad to read some of the harsh criticisms...probably the rantings of someone who hasn't tried their hand at multi-tracking. I have, and it is NOT easy.

    Keep up the great work.

Thanks for your reverent rendering of this piece.

    God bless!

  • Great song, i love when we sing this at sun. service. LDS

  • Wow...Great Job Vance! Even the VM would be jealous. ;)

  • We are going through a severe family health challenge at present. I wanted you to know how uplifting and inspiring this music is to me. I turn to it several times during my day for uplift and to take my mind off the situation and to remind myself that God is in control and caring for us. You have no idea what a gift you have posted here.

  • Absolutely gorgeous. Just listened 5 times in a row. Thank you for making this and posting. 27 tracks of same voice......perfection. What a range you have!!

Expect this to be my night time sign off and prayer...each day. Bless you.

  • @etr4039 What I know is the truth. And if you say that I sound like the original, then you are complimenting me whether you mean it or not. So you sir, aren't the bright one. But I thank you just the same.

  • @vanceperry I wouldn't say you sound like the original, but you do sound like a real choir, not a bunch of tracks. Honestly, a having a good voice and doing multitracks makes you a dime a dozen here on YouTube, it seems. But being able to output work that sounds that professional? That's is true skill. I salute you, sir!

  • @etr4039 Again, another great compliment! You are making my night! :)

  • @etr4039 That is actually one of the best compliments I have ever heard. Thank you! You might want to view my 30+ other videos before you make an accusation like that. God Bless!

  • Wow!! Great song, and performance. Sure felt the sweet Spirit of The Lord while I listened; you have a gift from God; may you use it to build His Kingdom.

  • Such a beautiful piece and arrangement, and so relevant for today! Happy Easter everyone! :)

  • man this is the most beutiful thing Ive ever heard. This song was played at my moms funeral by a barbershop quartet. I just have to say you did an amazing job and I wish my mom could see this becasue she would love it.

  • Totally Awesome!! You did a great job!

  • Mr. Perry - After a hard day of work, I was browsing through some random vids, and after watching some pretty funny and charming "Star Wars' and 'Music Man' acapella vids, I happened upon this one. I cried it was so beautiful. I rarely leave comments but I had to tell you what a wonderful job you have done. Thank you.

  • Thank you so much. I really appreciate you taking to the time to comment. It's comments like yours that really keep me doing this. I'm glad this moved you and hope you are doing well.

    God Bless.

  • to bad you can't clone yourself...It would be you and yourselves who took Internationals this year and not Mike Slamka and Crossroads...(Not that they don't deserve it...they do very much) But, wow. Props and kudos to you buddy!

  • Mormon Tabernacle Choir with The Vocal Majority sings this seemingly just the same. The Vocal Majority is a group of Harmony voices that sing all over the world. Listen to the written parts and the voices as each tonal quality is different than the other, and the vocal arrangement is exactly the same.

  • Yes, please look at the description of the video. This arrangement was written by Jim Clancy, Director of The Vocal Majority.

  • This is the best version I've heard of this song. I love it!!

  • WOW! I just wish I didn't listen to it at work. "Misty eyed" is not a good look. I was deeply moved. Thanks for posting.

  • Hehehe...Thanks Elmer. I appreciate your comment.

  • Very Good singing and Video

  • STUNNING! Absolutely beautiful.

  • This is awesome, Vance! I love the words, harmony, and the slides that you chose to insert.

I came across your work last night and am loving it. Keep it up.

  • This is beautiful. A beautiful song and harmony. Nice job.

  • ur range width is very impressive......keep up the good work

  • Due my fave song.thanks.lol.

  • Very nice, Vance

  • This is an excellent version of this song. I have heard it before and have it on a cassette tape somewhere. This chorus is one of the best out there and there is nothing they can't do or perform. Great job and many thanks for sharing it here!

    Ken Palmer

  • The chorus you have on cassette is probably the Vocal Majority (this is their director's arrangement).

I believe Vance is singing this nice recording here.

  • Superb!

  • wow I was touched by that :)

    great job

  • Jesus thank you for creating such a talented man such as this person in the video. His awesomely wonderful singing talent reminds me of your greatness... Amin

  • You definitely did the song justice, I am impressed, so well done, congratulations and thanks a lot for sharing and the big effort :-)

  • gorgeous!!!

  • If there was a catagory for it, you could win a gold medal at International in the quartet AND chorus catagories!! I was with the Bluewater Chordsmen in Sarnia Ontario for a few years!! You're incredible!!
