Quick Review: Emerson EVC125HD "High Definition" Digital Camcorder

I bought it and it is horrible! the mi8c is weak, the quality is terrible and a very dark picture!

actually while watching your video clip with the '60's tv song' - this emerson would be a great media recorder to emulate those old super 8mm hand held movie cameras of the '60s and to do a retro or vintage type creative movie.

you are right, this would be a good toy for a child's first camera.

I'm actually looking into getting myself an HD camcorder this holiday season now that they're somewhat cheaper than they used to be (or so I'm told) but I've yet to figure out which one would really be best for me, including within my budget. Thanks for eliminating one of them from my list of possibilities!

I doubt the image sensor is even close to 3 megapixels. If they lie about it being "HD" then they are probably going to lie about other things, too! It's probably just a cheap low-resolution webcam image sensor. The still photos remind me of the results I got with a 1997 Sony floppy disk camera, which had a 0.4 megapixel (400k pixel) image sensor.
