@eyem24 same here. i ended up spending a year researching him for a school major work for my final year of high school. he's a truly fascinating character, a lot more complex than the tudors portray him to be (here they portray him as more interested in love than politics), but then again, he's fascinating because he's somewhat mysterious. :)
Not a bitch....Anne was a diva.....yes she was not a saint ...I don' like the way she treated COA and princess Mary but we all know that Catherine's and Henry's marriage had come to an end before her appearance...And on the other hand she did what her father and brother forced her to do....But I believe that she DID LOVE Henry in the longterm....
@pearlearring17 wow, that's a new low. do you have no sense of respect for anything? have you heard of not speaking illy of the dead? anne was an independent, fearless, intelligent dame and you are desecrating her memory. shame on you and your family.
@uglyduckling89 I realize this, I didn't mean to cause offence to anyone.. what I meant is that despite the bad things she did and the horrible way she treated some people, she was still an incredibly strong charismatic person who didn't deserve what happened to her.
I actually read that yes, Anne was originally despised by the English people at the beginning of her reign, but later became respected for her strength and intelligence. And when she was executed, many people believed that the "so called" charges were false and were appalled by Henry's behavior
Personally, I think that even though Charles didn't like Anne, he never wanted this to happen to her. During her final speech and execution, you could just tell by the look on his face that he knew it was wrong.
Even though Charles didn't like Anne, he did stand up for her and put Thomas Boleyn in his place. Charles was appalled and disgusted that Thomas would sacrifice his own flesh and blood to save his own neck! Go Charles!!!
