  • Go Mr. Guillaume!

  • One of my favorite songs that I have ever performed. Thank you, Mr. Guillaume!

  • I'm pretty sure we had a competition with this group in Virginia... and our choir beat them :)

  • My choir is doing this for our next concert. It's sorta REALLY HARD.

  • I personally think it sounds a lot less lively this slow.. Needed to be taken up a notch in my opinion.. Good job though lol

  • my highschool choir is doing this ina few days for our spring concert and it sounds really good, these people are lucky though, they get to use their music,we have to remember the 26 pages of this song -_-

  • @Br00talAsCanBe hey, same here! hah. howd yours go?

  • @odonnells4 No it's not... Maybe you have a different edition but this is the key that most choirs sing it in.

  • my choir is doing this song for our spring concert!!!

  • My High School choir just performed this song down in Anaheim California. Its an awesome piece!

  • Doing this in my chamber choir. We have to memorize it. It's so much fun! But AH!

    Good job!

  • Mr. Guillaume, Pennsylvania Region 1 Choir just performed this for the Region festival, and it was beautiful and brilliant. This piece is fantastic, thank you so much.

  • this is in a different key.. but nice job

  • my unchle louis celestin wrote the words of this song and my cusin sydnay wrot this song

  • My High School choir sang this my junior year. It was the most fun song I have ever performed, next to Saul. Great job. I wish I had a recording of our performance.

  • M. Guillaume, how often do you attend concerts of your work?

  • @MhsRunner2010 I mainly attend the premieres and the local performances like this USC concert.

  • i <3 SC

  • i loooove all of sydney guillaume..... hes an amazingly insanely crazy guy.

my schools madrigals troupe performed kalinda at this festival for high school choirs at university of maryland and it was sooooooooo fun!!!!

  • i had the privilage this past weekend of going to all state choir and michael jo schiebe (the USC director who is in this video) was our director. we got to sing this song and it was soo much fun!

  • i saw you guys! it was really good! *i was in the treble choir*

  • @officialemma25

Which state was it? I sang with him under SoCal regionals two years ago.

  • @flyinggeese426 oh haha it was actually washington state :)

  • I don't know, this isn't a German opera, it's supposed to be a Hatian song of brotherly love. I just don't think that this choir used the right style. Otherwise, yes, I think this is a good song.

  • Were singing it in our high school .. its Creole its like a americanized french

  • did a very great job im very impressed

  • Wow this is really good, I'm impressed. However I would've liked it better without folders, but it is long so yea. My chamber choir, Grandview singers is doing this and i'm really excited. but reallly good job :)

  • we're singing this in our chamber choir, and we're doing it a little faster lol

i like the way this was done! they stayed on rhythm very well! ^_^

  • Its this choir that is making me choose USC as my first pick once I am ready to transfer from my school. This choir is AMAZING!

  • My brother had to learn the tenor part for this song.

I felt so sorry for him as a fellow singer! I could never keep up that rythm!

  • This is a college choir, isn't it? \:|

It's not a high school choir, nor does it sound like one.

Was the person who posted this in the choir? Or an audience member?

  • Yeah, it's a college choir. University of Southern California.

  • sopranos are too loud, but everything else is pretty good

  • main thing about this choir is sopranos are to loud other than that good

  • my choir is doing this song

ill post it if if my mom can record it (:

  • This does NOT sound like a high school choir.

I would be THRILLED if I had a high school choir sing like this.

So to whoever said that, listen to some high schools.

  • Um. Most college choirs don't memorize their pieces because they have a lot of them. Being memorized does not make the piece better.

  • well, in my opinion, choir should be tightly engaged with the audience because every song we do might give a different message or story to every person. so memorizing should be mandatory for if you want to focus on the conducting or to engage with the audience with interesting faces instead of looking down at the folder.

  • Sure, it's definitely easier to convey the message. However, for example, my choir sang in Avery Fisher Hall in March of '09 and we sang the Hayden Theresienmesse, and that's quite a long piece with lots of solos in between. So that would have been hard to memorize. But a 2 minute 30 something minute piece, definitely, would probably benefit from being memorized.

  • @xMarix I completely disagree. When you memorize a piece, you get your face out of the music. It gives the choir the ability to communicate to a much greater effect. Most college choirs don't memorize their music, that's true, but when they do, it adds so much.

  • by far one of my favorite choral pieces ever. =D

  • Great job, guys! Very impressed.

  • whoa!!!!!!!!! their Good!!!!!!!!!!!

  • we're doin this for choir @ logan, i thibk we're pretty boss at it :)

  • high school choir. enough said. regardless of how fast you learned it, you still sounded like high school students.

  • Just because it's a High School choir does NOT meat they sound like High School students what-so-ever. That's like saying "Texas all state choir is made up of all High Schoolers so they sound like high schoolers" or any all state group for that fact. So you might not want to underestimate a HS choir.

  • This song is a bunch of craziness....especially at the end!:)
