I stood on this very site in 1970 while the jetty was being built. Smithson shook my hand and patted me on the back he joked with me. He and my father Dwayne Blanch talked for a long while right here. I remember how young he was and how much he looked like my father. He was very friendly to me and my father. It is something I will never forget. I have always loved this place. kevin d blanch 10/21/10
CORRETION NORTH SIDE OF THE LAKE, take the north Brigham city Corinne ext 65 miles North of Salt Lake Airport on I 15 go west 30 miles or so to A.T.K. keep going a sign right at A.T.K. says Golden Spike Museum. Once you get to the Museum follow the dirt road 16 miles, thier are two turns little tiny signs. the last sevaral miles are VERY BAD ROAD WITH HIGH LAVA STONES UP THROUGH THE ROAD. I would recommend a high clearence truck last few miles Or walk. Aug. Sept . safest Dry. extrem. rural
