Not heard this beautiful song since 1977, street Agustin Lara, Lomas del Roble, San Nicolas de los Gza, this song reminded me of my hometown, oh God, what memories. Gracias a quien subió esta canción.
I was just 15 in the summer of 1977 , one of the best summers of my life . I was just getting into girls especially the pretty blonde next door who was just 3 months younger than me !
Brings back so many memories, summer of 77 with a beautiful girl , this song comes on and she asks me. I declined, I kept telling myself it was because I was raised right and a gentleman. What an idiot. Thanks for posting hadn't heard this in years
Estimated friend, if you want to listen again this song and an endless number of successes of the love I suggest you to visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - looks for his direction URL in Google ( search Musica para Mimos in Google)-. best romantic music of all the times in Internet, is great, is very good ...!!!
I bet the one who dislikes this song is a disillusioned character who heard this song and never thought he'd get old. The question now isn't "Do you wanna," but "Can you?" We should petition insurance companies to cover viagra. Being old without money sucks.
Great original version----summer of 77 spent in North Texas. Best summer of my life, and this song was an integral part of the soundrack of that summer
I remember hearing this song on the radio several times during a summer heatwave in 1977, reading a book and eating an orange sherbet to cool off; I was 12. Great memory. We're having a heat wave now, and this song kept going through my head!!
Peter hit #5 in Billboard, 8-6-77. Is that Jennifer Warnes on backup vocals? Somebody let me know. Peter later became a country songwriter. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!
I've always loved this song, I remember working at the radio station and it was introduced.. after that, the phones rang for requests...and they kept ringing. Awesome song, takes me down memory lane for'sure.
Billboard's #17 song of 77. 22 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100. Also, hit #22 AC. Is that Jennifer Warnes' singin' backup? Please let me know. God bless! P.S., after Peter's recordin' career, he became a country songwriter.
omg.and hahaa...i heard this today on the 70's digital station and can't explain what rushed over me. but i think 1977 just hit me in the eye this morning..and it felt nice.
I met my husband in 1980 through our local skating rink. This song was usually the last couples' song of the night...It became our song. I smile every time I hear this song. I still have my old 45 record but it is scratched...thank you for posting "Do You Wanna Make Love"!
nice song dedicated to my ex-girl friend ARELLY CUMAPAN GARCIA with love for ever from his boy friend JORGE ALEJANDRO PICON CHAPAUJI since 1977 what a wonderfull time
nice ong dedicated to my ex-girlfriend ARELLY CUMAPAN GARCIA with the love for ever from his boy friend JORGE ALEJANDRO PICON CHAPAUJI since 1977 what a wonderfull time
A classic song - though I think The New Seekers' cover, produced by David Mackay (and in a slightly higher key - E major), was even better. Sadly, neither version charted in the UK. So many bands/singers I've loved have been denied major success - not only the NS but also Gallagher & Lyle, Steely Dan (in the UK), Judie Tzuke, Rab Noakes and Gerard Kenny.
@DaveWollenberg Did you know Peter McCann wrote the Jennifer Warnes hit "Right Time of the Night?". I don't know if that her here on background vocals, though.
@ChihuahuaboyDH Yeah, my friend, I've known for quite some time that Peter wrote' Right time of the night' for Jennifer. God bless! Have a great weekend.
This song is my good memory when I was 20 years old.
I stayed at my friends home about one month in California 32 years ago. This was the No.1 hit song at that time. I can't forget forever. I wannted to hear his song
Repairs, is on the Rare Earth Label(R532L), a Motown Record company The Tittle of the album is' Already A Household Word'. It is on vinyl. people on Amason and such will have it.
so happy to have found this!!!! he taught me how to play guitar a million years ago!!!! never had the chance to say how much i loved his song but i can now!!!!
This is a very good song and Peter does a great job singing in such a high register. I wish there had been an actual video made of this song with Peter singing it. It would have made this YouTube moment very special indeed! Cheers!
I remember when this was a big hit song; I would hear an occasional commercial on both WLS and WCFL in Chicago promoting his album. I can't quote word for word, but the jist of it was, "America has a new singing and songwriting STAR." Too bad he disappeared after just one hit, but that's the way the cosmic tumblers mesh sometimes, or whatever they say. Yes, I also bought the 45 and played the hell out of it! This was a great song for making out in the car to, as I recall...aaaaaahhhhhhh.......
I loved this record so much when it came out that I bought TWO copies! The flip side is "Right Time of the Night", which he also wrote. I'd like to see that up here too. Thanks for sharing.
I have not heard this in many many many years. Thanks for posting it. I have looked for a long time here for it & this is the 1st time I have found it. Such a great tune!
