Super expensive! I'm a backyard mechanic with two diesel engines. I process about 100 gallons of WVO per MONTH! Anyone know where I can get a smaller/cheaper centrifuge?
Most centrifuges are liquid/solid separators. Glycerin if easily removed after a biodiesel reaction. If you heat the fuel or oil to 140F water will drop to the bottom of the tank.
Sure the centrifuge will separate the water but it will merely hold it in the rotor until the unit stops. When the rotor stops you then have oil and water again. Then what to you do with it is the question. It is much simpler to heat the oil, let the water drop and then deal with the glycerin that is the solid. Only putting the oil and glycerin mix in the centrifuge is much cleaner.
Flow rates are an indication only and is subjective to the condition of the solution, such as specific gravity, particle size, viscosity, percentage contaminant.
Waste Vegetable Oil 80 GPH - 400Gph (dependant on the oil being cleaned)
thumbs up if you like Dieselcraft Continuous Flow and Self Cleaning Centrifuge

I could buy three wvo trucks for that price... Are you aiming strictly for industrial sales?

so if this is a function of heat and gravity. why then does it not figure that a centrifuge would help seperate water and or glycerin.

I don't see why someone couldn't build one of these themselves. The smaller on for the engine compartment is top-notch tho. Really like it.
