The original version was performed by Gus Gus. This is the Sasha vs The Light remix of the Gus Gus song. Then Oakenfold put it on the Tranceport DJ CD. Oakenfold really has nothing to do with it... although he typically would get the credit for it because that's where most people have heard it.

I'll agree with you that the original track Purple was a classic (the entire album Polydistorion is golden in terms of Electronica history). But what busts me up is that you have to pull your "street creds" as a "dj" and "electronic musician" in order to pad your argument.
