1997 and 2003 were not the same. 2004 team was most of the same playersfrom World Series winning. They made offer to Pudge but it was not good enough. Derek Lee was traded. That's about it. We had Cabrera, Conine, Pierre, Becket, Lowell, Castillo, Gonzalez. Wayne did not care. But it was not the same in 2004 with Loria.

I'm glad this team had enough integrity to play all their starters for this mts series. They have a lot more heart than a lot of other club i can name here. they were out of the playofffs and they still made an effort on the field. FLA MARLINS 4EVA

latest attendance at the marlins vs braves game was not even 10 000. similar to what the montreal expos used to draw at home games. ironically the owner back then was jeffrey loria. what a tool. if any contraction will take place - it should be of this owner!! loria - pls get out of baseball and stick to art.

Yeah man seriously. I've been a malin fan ever since I moved here from N.J. and I have neer in my life seen a fan base the way it is down here in florida. They're a great team and nobody cares down here. Even when they won the world series a few years ago and beat the yankees,, nobody gave a shit. Why cant we have fans like in Tampa Bay.

the marlins need an owner that cares about the team. every owner they have always ends up fucking the team over and thats why people dont go to the games. people in miami love the fish, watch them on tv and buy their merchandise but if u want people to go to the games, keep players for more than 2 years and establish a team to build around.

Even the Rays started filling their stadium when they began doing good whats wrong with ppl in miami. I mean come on they'll pack the house for to see the dolphins get beat down. I drove an hour from West Palm Beach to see them play but if i lived down in Dade id go every week GO MARLINS!!!

marlins in first place they lead the mlb in homeruns and have one of the best bullpens in the league as well only problem is starting pitching even though we've been able to stop brandon webbs streak and many other pitchers like roy oswalt in the beginning of the yaer

this year is going to be pivotal for the marlins future. does anyone know the latest news about the stadium. i heard a couple of months ago that a deal was almost done. all our young guys like jacobs olsen willingham all are going to have to be signed. i cant see marlins winning a world series in a while if we dont sign those three. hopefully maybin can mature fast and we finish the year pretty well.

dude, florida is 14-9 (15-9 in a couple of hours). They may not have them, but the team is picking up the slack. Florida is rockin the NL EAST this year, and will. I would by season tickets, but I live in gainsville.

Injuries and not re-signing Pudge. At the time I thought he wasn't worth 40million but now I think the marlins should have done it. they could have traded him later if it didnt work out. His leadership for the young pitchers was priceless.

Season Ticket Holders is what we need. The Marlins have the best deals in the majors. We need fans to get off their ass and just go to the games. You dont have to go to all of them but at least 10 games a season. I bought the 28 game plan last year and Im buying it again this year. You can hate Mets, Cubs, and Phillie fans as much as you like but they at least support their team no matter what. GO MARLINS! See ya at the games! (Seriously, just go!)

1997 and 2003 were not the same. 2004 team was most of the same playersfrom World Series winning. They made offer to Pudge but it was not good enough. Derek Lee was traded. That's about it. We had Cabrera, Conine, Pierre, Becket, Lowell, Castillo, Gonzalez. Wayne did not care. But it was not the same in 2004 with Loria.
It comes down to money. owner will not spend, if they're not making any.

The Marlins are doing it again. in the offseason beore 97 (1st world series they ever won)they traded their young talent for younger talent. They won it all. Offseason before 03 (2cd championship for them)they did it again. Now history is repeating. Miguel Cabrera, Dontrlle Willis and possibly Hanley Ramirex are on the move. For younger talent. Will it be 1997, 2003 and 2008 for the Florida Marlins?
