Sorry to hear that but i had PRK done 1 month ago and its the best thing i ever did. I now have better then perfect vision 20/15 with no side effects and recovery was easy for me, no pain the next day just bored from sitting in the dark for 3 days waiting for the contacts to come out. But in all fairness i was only -2.00 and they said that such a quick painless recovery doesnt happen all the time. At first i was told it would take months. Good luck and all the best!!!
@mikejheads ΟΚ Ι Κnow i dont have good spelling.!!!Day 10 i can drive without any problem!!! THANK YOU !! I am not from English country.see you after a month.
I'm at 5 months and i wish i hadnt done it. My right eye still has bad ghosting and is dry. my left eye is okay but its not 20/20. My contacts were -6.00 in both eyes which is high. I fear this was the worst decision i have ever made. I wish I would have stayed with contacts.
I was told by my PRK doctor that the time it takes to heal depends on the amount of correction needed. From what I understand, the Average recovery is about 1 month to 1 diopter, I hope that helps.
Just got mine done a few days ago, it should be fully healed in a month or two.
The 3rd day after PRK Laser Eye Surgery is supposed to be the most painful, yet as I awoke this morning---moderate soreness & pain...perhaps everyone has a different pain threshold; Sensitivity to light has certainly increased today. And objects seem to be hyper-layered: Somewhat overlapping & distorted.
I'm 2 years post op prk surgery. The surgery was a disaster. MY eyes are still bone dry and my night vision is ruined. I lost my career and suffered from severe depression as a result. I strongly urge anyone think about getting prk to NOT do it. The risk is too great. The damage can't be reversed if thing go wrong. MY vision in my right eye has also regressed and is poor.
How are you eyes doing now? did they get better in terms of strange rays and dryness? I did PRK 5 months ago, my vision improved but I see a lot of glare and star burst. I appreciate if you tell me about your experience.
I had PRK in 2008, my right eye PERFECT! So happy I got it done, but my left... blurry still. I see better than I did before I had my lasik but its no were near as good as what a normal range would be. I'm am starting my search to see what I can do and if others have had similar experience myself. So far no eye doctor around me will take me in too see if I can get a 'touch' up done and am now on YouTube looking for 'bad' stories as well. Hope everything corrected it self for you since.
i find that the complications that people have with halo's around lights at night i have had since 6 months after my surgery (which is probably my fault since i didnt wear sunglasses when i was outside in bright sunlight for the first year like i was told to by the Dr.'s). but i notice i only get the halo's when my eyes are dried out or i am tired and usually using the refresh drops they gave me after the surgery greatly reduces those halo's in a majority of situations
i had my prk done by the air force back in 2000. both eyes were done the same day. after the surgery i had 20/15 vision in both eyes and it was a few years before my right eye went to 20/20 and the left stayed at 20/15 til about 2008.
It's very importaint to use the recommended eyedrops the first month. If you do not, you can have issues with the corneas healing which can leave scarring. Normally the antibiotic is used for the first week, but the steroid should be used for a month. the lubrication drops as needed and usually 6 months.
I have a friend who also got PRK done two weeks before me. His correction is half less than what I had; and he claims he is 100% recovered after 4 weeks.
I have had my PRK done 4 weeks 5 days ago now and both my eyes are still blurry at all distances. At this point I am just trying to be patient and wait for the day when my vision stablizes. Occasionally I see a few seconds of very sharp vision, but would go away after a few blinks. It is during those few seconds of sharp vision do I look forward to seeing once my eyes stablize.
Well it's 8 months now. I'm still having problems with my left eye. My right eye is almost ok. With my left eye I see kind of hazy, a bit blurry, I have problems with lights (I see some strange rays) and both eyes are very dry. I've read many times that it can take even 1 year to recover fully, but my f***ing doctor doesn't reassure me in any way, so I'd like to hear about other people's experience about prk surgery
its good... i cant remember how i used to see things ... everything is clear i had it done like a year ago already myb more... i had it done with my uncle hes an oculist (eye surgery guy ) hes got his own bussines in dallas texas ....

Are you using eye drops, the preservative-free ones the Dr. recommended?
