firstly, they're usually about £10 cheaper. then there are awesome mods (like the bolo mod from JC2) and console commands so you can do literally whatever you want. it means the game is twice as fun and the game lasts a lot longer because you can mess around with all the stuff

@strikelord1 How the game was optimized for xbox. When they ported it to PC and PS3 (God help them) they didn't optimize the code to run on the more sophisticated (or in the PS3's case, different) GPUs. That's why if you read about benchmarks for Skyrim online, they all have similar values for fps on different GFX cards since more of the code is handled by the CPU (for example, shadow rendering.) Since the new patch, the game runs smoother than ever so I assume some optimization was done.

Of course, now that the new patch is out, they have optimized the code for PCs (took about two months) so now I can hit much higher values for fps. However, this still doesn't make up for lack of DX11 support or the overall lack of quality textures shipping with the game, complex animations and so forth and so on...

But I don't see how the rest of that is worth complaining about. I know it can be tough to maintenance a powerful computer and make sure the games work properly, but I wouldn't take for granted what you have.

We PS3 users can't get better texture packs, or mods, or anything to fine tune it.

@Shadowhumper360 Yeah, the PS3 really needs support. I really meant to focus on how much the xbox got developed for it. There are more fans of skyrim than just xbox. While the mods are pretty much for the PC (because of Sony and Microsoft, but I would guess mostly M-soft since the probably have the most customers) most of them now are texture packs. Maybe some creative quests are in store for consoles, who knows? With skyrim being my first high end PC game, I definitely recommend the investment.
