You know what? I agree. I agree with Glenn Beck on a lot. He supports gay marriage. He believes marijuana should be legalized. He has quite a few moments where he has sober, rational thought. And then he fucks it all up, and he abuses his pulpit by wrangling people with fear.
As far as the "Hitler" comment, Glenn was my muse, after all, Obama is pretty much a Stalin. But you wouldn't know that because you aren't arguing on any particular point. Not unlike Glenn Beck at times.

It probably won't do you any good to use facts to make your point. These people only know what they hear and only hear what they want to believe. I agree with you on health-care, there's nothing socialist about Obama's plan. The Scandinavian model is socialized, but he wants a plan more like the UK's, where there is government and private to compete. Right now we're dead last in industrialized nations by a large margin in health-care and anyone that is good with that needs their head checked.

The UK is the most socialist country I can think of.
Red light cameras on most signals to mail you fines. And SPEED cameras on the highways to mail you FINES or summons to court.
There is no freedom of the people in the U.K. And ALL of Obamas plans are socialist.
We need SMALLER federal govt not larger. Putting healthcare in the hands of our FAILING govt will be an absolute DISASTER.

Yes I do. I really think he feels forced by events to do much of what he is doing. I think he knows if he fails he will be voted out of office. I think he knows he might well fail. I don't think when he decided to run that he expected the situation he finds himself in. I think he might have had second thoughts about the prospect when he saw what was happening. But now I think he is doing what he thinks is necessary. He may be wrong, but I don't believe ideology is his motivation.

Its too bad American's have become so bifurcated. Those that you see as dangerous I see as "the best and the brightest" and the dangerous people I think were just sent packing. But I understand. Its the way we are. Many think that Obama is going to increase taxes unconscionably high, but those like me think that a 4.6% increase in 2 years is lower than under Reagan and not really so onerous, especially for those that are targeted. I hold no malice. Its the way we are.

Thats the problem. Conservative elites have bastardized Adam Smith and capitalism, and try to silence any labor movement. The Reagan years saw many illegal firings of labor organization members, where the everyday Americans have lost their rights to the wealthy elite. I am against socialism, but you and other conservatives define socialism as how true capitalism was theorized by Smith. If 1950-1980, which brought on the greatest economic and powerful periods of American history, was socialism, then I love it.

And to answer your question, America has never practiced socialism so its never given us anything. Its done a lot for Europe apparently. But if you want to define certain parts of our government socialistic...sure! So for the sake of argument, socialism has given us social security, medicare, medicaid, tax breaks, stimulus checks, funding for schools, the GI bill, the expansion of the middle class, ..shit you name it. And is a progressive tax rate socialistic? God I hope you dont think so.

You should read my argument instead of suggesting I am a socialist. I was refereeing to modern conservative ideology's emphasis on pure free market society with no regulation. Our constitution outlines the first bit of market regulation with establishment of patenting. All I am saying is I am against elite tyranny.

pure capitalism in practice does not provide equal oppurtunity and the equal worth of the individual, therefore it needs regulation. The country from 1950-1980 was number 1 in the world, before ideology took it over. Do not become persuaded by this elitest propaganda. It is their goal to have the money in the hands of the few. For instance, during the 6th years of economic boom during the Bush years, 3/4 of that growth was felt in only the top 1%!!

Okay first lets fix some confusion. Equal worth of individual is promised in our constitution and stated in the Declaration. It is a natural right and you can say its a god given right. There is nothing more American and more Capitalist than the idea of Equal opportunity!! Please remember that. The purpose of capitalism is that we all have the equal right to do what we want (in a free market). What is not American, and anti-capitalist is the idea of communism, everyone is strictly equal.
