The music we listen to can from angel and they left their sprit here for us to pass on to the net generation via recordings and exposure through TV. These musicians aren’t dread they just went home to rest history may forget the names but you will in time hear their sound again. if you don’t believe me back in 1923 song the dirty dozen singer jelly roll Morton sound like first rap song I ever heard but I don’t know where was it’s origin love you for posting these wonderful hits
LMAO! Those pictures are entirely appropriate for this song. Solomon Burke was not singing about immaculate conceptions! Just like a sad song doesn't care whose heart it breaks, a sexy song doesn't care who it seduces. Anyway, didn't he leave a woman pregnant in every town he performed in? He had fifty leven children. I think he knew a little something about sex!
What ya'll know about the King of Rock and Soul, you've been listening to too much Jay-Z and Kanye East, don't know a real singer if you tripped over him, R.I.P. Solomon gone much too soon.
Not true my fried, Not true my brotha, Not true my comrade,a classic line from one of Mr.Burkes performances years ago in DC. what a performer. I caught his act as a little boy at the Howard theater in DC and a performance where he sang those classic lines I wrote at the beginning. RIP my comrade.
@fastnbulbouss no not at all. I am 31 and I listen to mostly music from teh 40's 50's and 60's, 70's and 80's. I believe that music nowadays has all gone down hill and sounds all the same. Country music is not as good as it used to be either. Although most of the music you probably listen to is by dead musicians, thats why they are classic, and they are real, and makes you respect the music that much more.
as a young singer coming up in philly i was lucky to meet Solmon at the wharton center in north philly..he was performing for the kids....i learned a lot from him and guys like howard tate bunny sigler....backin the day it was great oh i was known as guy maurice
I like to invite you to watch my BLUESCARTOON tribute to BO DIDDLEY (look out for my playlist BLUESCARTOONS). I played all instruments & did the animation.
Why have men so suddenly lost their sex appeal compared to days ago. Today's "thug" attitude does nothing for me...Solomon, Sam, all these men are unnerving...today's artists are just lacking somehow...
@141Jessy I regret I spent a chunk of my life caring about how peers would judge me for liking such music and I think I can safely say I'm changing that mentality. I recently put up some vids on youtube under "Nick Suderman", if you're interested please check it out and let me know what you think. I'd love to know ladies with such an attitude as yours :)
Because chivalry and masculinity have been under attack ever since womens lib. But it isn't dead. There's still some of us heartbreakers out there. Wearing a tie aint easy tho honey.
@Draeka WHAT A STUPID STATEMENT. FALSE MUCHO SHIT IS THE ORDER OF THE PLANET. WE HAVE CREATED BACKWARD CHILDREN WITH NO LOVE FOR ANYTHING BUT CASH AND FAST SEX. STOP TRYNA BLAME WOMEN ASSFUCK!
@Draeka : Thank God for that - literally. Praise God - for the good "MEN" that still believe in chivalry and have sheer masculinity bred inside them. (....I knew they still existed.)
@141Jessy Any man with a brain and experience knows that thug is played mellow, not over the top. Plus dressing like a sack of garbage doesn't impress anyone. You can't compare most men to singers. Singers have a power unmatched by anyone except maybe presidents. But I said singers, not rappers. I liked rap, but its had its day. It needs to go away. Jay-z is the most overrated, overpaid performer I can think of, but then there's Kanye and Beyonce and Ludacris. The list of the untalented is long.
@141Jessy maybe if women wouldn't settle for the thug attitude then they would find there are plenty of us guys with class out there that will charm the drawers right off you.
@141Jessy - Who will be left standing in 10 year's time in the world of pop and rock? It won't be the folks who push their personal clothing line, drip with diamonds, or require a posse. It'll be the people who write and perform great songs.
@rocktenniscat just because you have a clothing line, have diamonds and roll with a gang dosnt bean your a bad musician just means your making alot of money lol you just used to the old days.keep ur unthought oppinions to urself old man :P

Even when they sing about love they lack inspiration
One of them sang a song where he tells a woman ... " you remind me of my jeep!!!"
How pitiful

Solomon's "Cry to me" is on my list of top ten songs that TURN. ME. ON.
The voice, the beat, just something in the music...
There are no contemporary songs that have that effect on me...
"Stay" by Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs is also another powerful aphrodisiac on me....
Jackie Willson... mmmmmmmmm
I could go on and on...
