I don't like this recording. She is clearly shit-faced, but more than anything, she is a truly GREAT lady wounded deeply, and a million people ought to have helped this astonishingly talented woman to equal the millions of dollars she made for "users" (and herself, because she was richer than Sinatra and it all ... went ... out ... the window).

Above all, this woman was a mother.....she wasn't a perfect motherr, neither am I!! And as my own mother who I just lost this April was not perfect. But I miss her every single day. Terribly. How sad this is. She says, referring to reports of her being an alcoholic and a drug addict: "it's a goddamn wonder I'm not! But I'm not." And it's obvious she's drunk or drugged even as she speaks. And her voice! Contrast with the voice of her younger years. It's a voice that's been ravaged.

Did you know they put her on speed as a child... during the making of The Wizard of Oz? Yes they did... Shame...THEY ruined Judy... She was a strong woman...strong mother...and strong performer... I know it's the "in" thing to create and believe your own reality today (most notably, false political beliefs about which folks grouse incessantly), but if anyone is interested in the truth, this IS, in fact, Miss Garland; and the tape is not being played "slowly." The unfamiliar sound is due to the action of certain drugs on the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain. For those who knew Miss Garland in the 60s, there is nothing unfamiliar in the sound or content of these tapes.

this was anytime between 1965 or 1968, she tried to record her life for a book 2 times. and she woul dwake up in the middle of the night when she couldn't sleep and talk into the recorder, and these are Judy, the tapes are running slow, don't forget that tape recorders ran off speed and only played normal on the machines they were recorded on, if played on another player recoreder , it either played too slow, or too fast
