  • You can "turn the volume" down on an inner story of criticism by engaging your imagination. The next time you are aware of your inner critic, imagine a dial or slider bar labeled "volume."

    In imagination or with an actual physical motion, move the dial or bar from "high" to "low" and then to "off." As you do this, hear the volume diminish in your inner auditory system.

    Feel a sense of relieve. This story will no longer limit you. Thanks for posting.
