Clearly you and reevsaj haven't seen the new Jeep Cherokee-

it's built off the Mercedes ML platform and has taken a giant step up in luxury.

It will cimplete with the new LR4.

Anyone looking for a cheap "American" alternative to the LR4, here or around the world will look at the Jeep 2nd- and probably buy.

the disco 3 was an astonishing car. brilliant off road, not too shabby on road, and the interior was great. it also looks amazing. i would want one if i drove off road. since i drive on road, i'll take the jaguar xf.
