To everyone else- yes the atr is a nice quality rifle, I got the 30-06 and repeatedly shot 3/4inch or smaller with hornady 150 superformance sst's(:

Dude below your wrong- gun does depend alot on recoil,. I light gun will indeed recoil more than a heavy gun, the grain of the bullet does matter but not as much as gun weight.. Look up light weight .308 mountain guns that weigh less than 6 pounds than a .308 that ways 7 and half pounds or so.. This is known by my gun shooters that a heavy gun has less recoil

I own a new one in 270. It is very accurate for an inexpensive gun. I bought it to replace the Stevens 200 I gave to my son. They are both nice for the job of hunting deer or you name it.

are the slugs used in the .270 win the same as used in the .270 win? just a shortened brass? or is the bullet a different shape also?

they sell these at walmart for like 250 and it's got a 4 round internal clip giving it 4+1 capacity :)
