ABBA \o/ I'm impressed by how many french songs won x) ... Not always France but countries such as Luxembourg x). Aaah, way better than some stuff nowadays =]
Have you noticed that, at first, every singer was used to sing in their OWN language ? That was better, because Eurovision is supposed to be a way for each Nation to show its culture, starting from its language. It's a shame that it's nothing more than just a song contest nowadays. As if English was really spoken all over U.E! Anyway, this programme is no longer watched, except in Easten Europe... where the votes are already sorted out according to the politics backgrounds of each country!
Terrible choices for years 1956-1973 the person who made this video doesn't know about those entries, or despises them, so puts 10 insignificant seconds of pointless parts of those songs while from Abba on the choices are simply perfect. Eurovision was huge in the 60s,
My favourites: "Poupée de cire, poupée de son" (1965),"La,la,la"(1968),"Vivo cantando"(1969),"Waterloo" (1974),"Save your kisses for me"(1976),"What's another year?"(1980)
I like the french language but dam lol like every winning song was french literally back then...it mustve been In to sing french then. lol now its english.
I add one amazing song, maybe one of the best songs ever that should have participated in the Eurovision, and would, in my opinion have been the best in 2005: Aline Lahoud from Lebanon - Quand tout s'enfuit, who wasn't allowed to participate for stupid political reasons, whoever is to be blamed. Quite sad it didn't!
2nd part: 1977 - France: Marie Myriam - L'oiseau et l'enfant 1979 Germany: Dschinghis Khan - Dschinghis Khan 1982 Germany: Nicole - Ein bißchen Frieden 1983 Israel: Ofra Haza - Chai 1987 Ireland: Johnny Logan - Hold me now 1990 Italy: Toto Cotugno - Insieme: 1992 1990 Spain: Azucar Moreno - Bandido 1991 France: Amina - Cest le dernier qui a parlé qui a raison 1995 Norway: Secret Garden - Nocturne 1996 Ireland: Eimear Quinn - The voice
ESC Winners. My top 10: # 1 Tu te reconnaîtras - Luxembourg 1973 # 2 Après toi - Luxembourg 1972 # 3 Non ho l´etá - Italy 1964 # 4 Waterloo - Sweden 1974 # 5 All kinds of everything - Ireland 1970 # 6 The troubadour - Netherlands 1969 # 7 Save your kisses for me - UK 1976 # 8 Hallelujah - Israel 1979 # 9 Un banc, un arbre, une rue - Monaco 1971 #10 Merci chérie - Austria 1966

Lordi?????? I don't think they was oretty goood - just show - not the song. The best songs were angel in 2005 by Chiara (malta) , what if we (2009 - Chiara again) i like Iceland 2009 too
Anyawy Norway had the best song ever but i am sure that 20 years ago people said that for example France had the best song ever but there will be a lot of songs is such nice to see all these songs! Ok some of them are weird but people liked other types of songs 20 years ago!
Yeah... everybody may say their opinion! But that looked an awful lot like arguing in my eyes! For example... you don't need to call someone DONKEY because they think a winner is a bad winner... (like Meigo18 does...)
No i don't have that =') But I can give you certain songs you want or something. Dvd's don't exist yet. Except for this year, they've made a dvd ( 2009 ).
Most of these come off as very old-fashioned to me. But I like France 1960, Italy 1964, Luxembourg 1965, United Kingdom 1967, Ireland 1970, Luxembourg 1973, Sweden 1974 (of course), Netherlands 1975, United Kingdom 1976, Israel 1978, Israel 1979, Ireland 1980 and United Kingdom 1981.
I think some of the footage of the earlier winners might not be the actual eurovision performance. Probably performances of the songs that are more recent. At least that would be my guess.
I was seeing Portugal songs and they are much better. Take a look on Portugal 2008 entry and on Russia (2007 winner). Portugal entry was much better!!!!
hahahahahahahahahahahaha, watch this and then the winners of 2006. it's such a difference!!!!!! (in the bad way) i mean, when somone can win the contest by dressing up as monsters............... does no one know any more what real music is????
Watching this recap one clearly sees a descent from a politicaly oriented "contest" that was capable of producing great & memorable pop music to an utter americanized & artificial thing, an inter-national freak show without any quality, singularity or local color.
Ireland rocks! they won a lot! and they're great ^^ don't you think back in the time it were still fair,it were mostly good songs, now only the most ridiculous artists win! :s
suede sweden 1974 12pt royaume uni uk 1997 10pt monaco monaco 1970 8pt luxembourg luxembourg 1972 7pt irlande ireland 1970 6pt france france 1977 5pt allemagne germany 1982 4pt norvege norway 1985 3pt finlande finland 2006 2pt israel israel 1979 1pt null point pour l'est nil point east
It's nice to see a recent performance of "Tu te reconnaitras." Anne-Marie David is still a stunner.
