I have great memories from each time. Thank you for showing & the sharing the beauty of the island. I am excited to go back...

Evryone knows everyone, very family feeling community

    -Tko

  • I am coming to Nevis in January for a job interview. I need to find a cheap place to stay for the interview and if that works out, will have to check out the cost of living and see if I can find a reasonably priced apartment--any suggestions would be welcomed.

  • wow you be having so much fun...nice video lols this was entertaining

  • y didnt u take a trip over to nevis?

  • aids.

  • actually nevisians reaction depends on the context, if we're having an event people love the camera, they would be jumping infront the camera and everything but if they see somebody talking pictures and stuff who they dont know they would think ur up to no good and get offended if dont u ask them

  • one of my grandparents are Nevis the other from St.kitts on my Dads side.=)

  • i love the town. And you speak spanish good!

  • My parents are from Nevis, I lived there when I was younger but I haven't been back in years! This video made me feel like I was right there, walking through town with you. Awesome vid Tonya. I grew up in the US Virgin Islands, You should visit there some time - St. Croix, St. Thomas and St. John - and visit the British Virgin Islands too. If you liked Nevis, I can guarantee, you will LOVE the VI!!!

  • I understand that they may think its rude to be filmed without permission, but its also kind of funny they act like their hiding from the PO PO...lol

  • Yep your just the best loved your vid !! Your so happy it infectious !! You've cheered me up Oh and by by the way you happen to be beautiful Be happy Love Little Mo England xxxxxxxxxxx

  • Your accent is awesome.

  • My Country is so beautiful!....Nevis lovely Nevis....Nevisians consider it disrespectful when visitors film them or take their pictures with out permition...the second little square is the D. R, Walwyn Plaza...In the last portion of the video they were being bold faced lol as it is known locally...one thing about Nevis People they are very straighup it may be considered as rude....Lovely videos Tanya I really enjoyed it...I have not been home in a year so this was a fun treat!

  • since your from there how is the culture and what's the difference between there and america is crime a real big concern there holla at me

  • A majority of our culture is indicative to Nevis and Nevisians in terms of our music and food and cultural activities. However, we are also heavily influenced by the US culture eg dress and music. Crime has become a concern in recent times but not uncontrollably. I find that Nevisians have very traditional values. We are super conservative, there has been a shift in this. Many blame it on BET and TEMPO lol all in all it is a wonderful country

  • well you do have to keep in mind that this bullshit westeren culture has spreaded worldwide

  • The tour was so detailed that I felt like I was actually there. I've always wanted to live in a place such as Nevis for a week or so without the luxuries of my everyday life to attempt to connect with my ancestor's experiences & gain more appreciation for my blessings. I've decided to make the trip for my 30th b-day (I turn 27 Monday). Thanks for posting!

  • Tonya, you make a very cute island girl. Your eyes were sparkling the whole video. Did you get hit with one of cupid's arrow's or something?

  • Comment removed

  • Wonderful vid Tonya! Thanks so much for sharing!!

  • Good job TKO.

  • That can't be the whole city, it is tiny? I couldn't live there no matter how beautiful extremely too small Tonya LOL

  • That's because you were born in the U.S. I'm assuming, but if you were born and grew up in the islands you wouldn't think that way.

  • wow i enjoy the tour!! you're the best!

  • great video. i would love to move to the islands

  • oh wow you're really popular there! I think if I went i'd feel out of place... Being white n all lol :) But it looks really beautiful!

  • its funny, because the last thing i expected was that guy to speak spanish...its beautiful though

  • Why do people always feel that you have to have certain look in order to be considered hispanic. I guess you assumed that because he didn't have soft hair or a lighter skin complexion. Just curious as to why you made that comment it's not a big deal.

  • I think its a popular misconception that there is some sort of difference btwn 'Blacks' & 'Hispanics' we see this everywhere in trivial things like casting calls and onto major things like health statistics. So we shouldnt pretend that this is just in the layman's mind. This is an institutionalized and widely accepted mode of reasoning.

    -Tko

  • You were about to whoop some ass at the end.

The video was pretty cool. Looks like you had a good time in Nevis.

  • why were those people at the end so mean?

  • ..I can state the obvious..Um..It's Nevis and they are not really a spanish speaking island...and please do not "GUESS" anything for me..I did not assume anything..I am from Washington Heights, where there is a majority of Dominicans, most of them of darker complexion...its amazing how QUICK people are to accuse someone of being Bias, or racist...and IGNORANT when its themselves who can't see the bigger picture

  • Well first of all I know Nevis is not Spanish speaking, but I am from Trinidad which has a very cosmopolitan society and culture. I was just curious as to why you thought that guy speaking spanish was surprising. Sorry if you misunderstood, I wasn't accusing you of being ignorant or anything. Have a nice day. :)

  • Slavery was wrong or slavery was evil? Chopping off hands and feet of people. When did Black America go wrong. When and why Black Americans, went to jail in the early past. When togetherness, whites and blacks talking and hanging out, if so?

  • Hear me please. Look around us, what is it that surrounds us? Not money but solid and things. You have to listen. We travel and we see where strong is. It will emerge, maybe in 5 maybe in 20 years. You can see in life, in people, in surrounding. Not others, but inside. Guns and missles. To understand this deep. The evil in the South, and in other parts of a every country. And hear me the surroundings. Kids living life, the elders rushing underground.

  • I truly, never meant anything mean I said. Truly. Now that philosophy, the world, love, and the evil heart has come out. A handshake, and a smile. But am I a ghost to people? Or a philosopher. And a hurt in people.

  • That there is a link, between those faces, that deep and that far back. Some almost exactly. A bubble swarming smaller than can be seen.

  • I wonder. Why didnt we, if we had known, maybe not enough, had we done something when we first knew, to help better the middle east and societies of violence. I see love in the Black American societies. I also see extreme hurt. How can we get so strong? Some since the 60's? And that time period of togetherness before? Can it be that deep, that one person, led a trait of many similiar faces.

  • Dag Tonya, what they think you are going to do superimpose their heads on a nude body and sell it as a porn tape LOL!
