I sang this to my husband while walking down the "aisle" (path; ourdoor wedding!). It's such a beautiful song. I heard it for the first time a year or two before meeting him. I decided then that I would sing this to my future husband! :D
Oh, I agree. He is far and away my favorite songwriter ever. Anytime I think I've heard it all, there's another great one hidden somewhere. And his music transcends time.
I figure you have this one coming....from a guy who forgets sometimes....who thinks of his point of view a little to much sometimes.....who lets the big blue sky get blotted out by some pesky rainclouds.....same guy who loves you at the end of the day....and will be there tomorrow....
That's so funny! I sang this during the lighting of the unity candle at my sisters wedding. lol. It was MY first dance song at my wedding, and she loved it so much she wanted it at her wedding.
This is a time when you could mention/say/ write the name of God. God was not a "Taboo" as it is today. Especially with these "Free Thinking Liberals". What happened to the America I grew up in? I'm 43 years old and have become a jaded American. Thank you Mary for a beautiful rendition of a beautiful song!!! God bless you....
...as the light fades, & the life in us slips away, Id choose to breath the last air holding your hand....... .i'll die in your arms, loving you.....only you.
I actually sang this song to my husband as a surprise at our reception. It makes me remember how much I love him every time I hear it.

Lennon wrote so many songs that any one of them would reach out to someone. This does for me. R.I.P. John Lennon

John Lennon's masterpiece. It was so sad he didn't have time to release it.

This was the song that my husband and I danced to at our wedding. Wasn't a dry eye in the house. lol.
When my sister got married, she asked me to sing it during her ceremony. So it was a part of both of our weddings.

SHE didnt make it thats one for sure... JOHN LENNON did. I would get the John Lennon version instead of this one. Originals are always the best.
