@54markl Every adult that was around when I was a kid loved it when I played the Ramones. I had friends that loved them and for the life of me I couldn't convince them that the Ramones were punk rock. With different circumstances and if punk didn't happen the way it did and was perceived differently the Ramones would have sold tons of albums and deservedly so.

I would tell those friends who I turned on to the Ramones who loved them, but would never believe me that they were punk rock, things like they coined the term punk rock. They were all very familiar with the lyric sleeve for Rocket to Russia too. Punk became something very different after the Ramones toured England. The image that was created really hurt the Ramones. It wasn't them. They wanted to be big not undergound and not in secondary markets.
