I have a small, purple, Zenith tv. I want to plug in the VCR and watch Balto. Theres this one plug in that has a thin metal stick inside it. Theres this yellow thing that has a hole in the middle, but when i plug it in it buzzes. I got the tv out of my treehouse, and it worked before. The VCR brand is Memorex. Any suggestions?

@thesupremeking92 Do your tapes roll and jitter on screen like the heads are dirty but tapes were fine before the modulator was hooked up? This has happend to me with one of these things so i unhooked it, played a different tape and found nothing wrong with the VCR at all! It seems the modulator imbeded macrovision pulses on to my own tapes!!! Even DVD/ VCR combos seem to do it.

if my tv has a "game" channel that can only be accessed by the remote, and the remote fails and/or the tv ir sensor dies. will an rf modulator allow me to connect/use a game system or dvd/vcr? the tv has front rca ports. the real issue is bypassing the need to be on "game" channel.

@kumquatsta If you put your TV on CH 3 or CH 4. An RF Modulator is a device that is used to convert RCA to coaxial if the TV sensor dies and/or remote fails. And, yes, an RF Modulator can allow you to connect a video game system, dvd and/or vcr to the device since it has an RCA input. I would buy 2 more RCA cables, and an RCA splitter from GameStop or wherever.

don't know who was dumb enough to mark your question a poor coment, an RF modulator will work fine with a ps2's Red White and Yellow composit cable, but...

your easiest option is to get a ps1 cable.

it has a built in RF modulator and will switch over from your normal signal to its own output, I have one, it's the same connector on all playstation consoles, I've even used it on ps3, you just need to tune your set, usualy CH36.

I will soon make a hack tutorial, to use any console rf mod

How do you connect the tv to the dvd player and satellite box? I have both cable and satellite channels, but i have to use the red/white/yellow cables to view the satellite channels or use the dvd player. My tv is just like this. Do I still need an rf modulator or do i need to get another rca cable to link the dvd and satellite? My tv is setup to where when u press the "tv/av" button, it will go to either one i have the rca cable connected to. This is so frustrating. Please help.
