The song is not that hard.. it's just like 4 chords alltogether.. with a little variation. Just sit down and listen to the song and you'll get them. It starts in F and the uses the classical 50's style.

Beautiful song :) I still have it on 45rpm vinyl somewhere.

I remember my professor in theory class stating a fair percentage of pop songs require only the root, dominant and sub-dominant chords. He also stated that the prettiest songs do not require a difficult background and that the melody is enough. I believe this is one of those songs.
