  • I cried...wow

  • yo no bullshit... Mr Rogers is the man. He really practiced what he preached i mean that senator was really gettin under my skin Mr. Rogers really showed patience and found words to truly express how he felt in the most calmest manner of all. RIP Mr. Rogers!

  • This practically brought me to tears. I loved watching Mr. Roger's show. It had so much meaning to it and dealt with important issues and values. Mr Rogers was an inspirational hero.

  • This is the power of perfect communication, Perfect talk not by head but by through heart. Thank you Mr. Roger God Bless You.

  • Not just an American TV icon. Mr Rogers had a way of making EVERYONE feel important and of great worth to their community no matter what their background. As a minority, I will also truly miss him.

  • @Ferreal92 Well said. Very well said. Thank you!

  • Didn't know this before. The real Mr. Rogers was a pastor, and song writer, and wrote a lot of the songs on his show.

  • It IS more dramatic for men to work out their feelings rather than fighting... he is absolutely right. It makes for much more interesting screen play... it shows what Mr Rogers called emotional archeology, the roots of feelings.

  • @brightbite Excellent point. Nicely said. Thank you! :)

  • I used to love mr Rodgers! Such an inspirational man. God bless him.

  • cutting domestic funding to pay for a foreign war? where have i heard this before?

  • God bless you mr rogers. Thank you for making me a better person

  • Mr Rogers was in the Vortex! :)

  • Get the audio from this vid at thetunify doht cohm.

  • I miss watching his show! I loved it!!

  • Best money ever spent.

  • You've made this day a special day by just your being you. There's no person in the whole world like you, and I like you just the way you are.

  • Just think about how much love could be spread in the world if each community had a figure as serious about peace and caring as Mister Rogers was. It would undoubtedly lead to evil being worked out of each culture as people came together and focused on helping each other and themselves in order to reach a genuine understanding of each other from the heart.

  • this is very tense!

  • Yeah let's fund Vietnam, but cut funding for a children's program. Nixon you were the best! /sarcasm

  • I hope you viewers see the irony in this. The FCC's regulation of the television industry kept out competition via licenses and inflated start-up costs. This resulted in the emergence of the powerful media corporations of today who have a monopoly over what we watch. And their stranglehold on the media outlets have led to abuse and the degradation of the moral quality of their programs.

Now, Mr. Rogers has to plea for a government solution to a problem created by the government. Ironic and sad.

  • wow...a new favorite of mine.

  • "Goosebumps" was a very accurate word. We need more men and women of his passion, seriousness and integrity.

  • What a beautiful mind.

  • Wow, talk about a man who's heart is in the right place. The world misses you Mr. Rogers!

  • Great Great Man.

  • My mother used to see him many days and said he was a very nice man. A friend swam with him in Pittsburgh at their daily workouts. Said he was one cool dude.

  • I could see Edward Norton playing Mr. Rogers in a biography film...

  • O_O

Holy shit, that would be amazing

  • Mr Rodgers' makes it rain at PBS bitches. 20 mil out this dil. king friday got a new crown, gold trim on picture picture, and crazy ass spinners on Trolly

  • @busterdog321

    hahahahahahahahahaha!

  • did he have a bloodline? we need that stuff in the gene pool

  • we are continuing to be more desensitized ever day. Who can step up and be the next Mr. Roger's for today's children? We need him. Now more than ever!

  • Great speech. I like how Mr. Roger's changed the senator's demeanor by the end of his speech. At first he didn't care but then by the end, he changed him. I actually met him in line at Knott's Berry Farm year's ago. Great guy. Really down to earth.

  • I loved Mr.Rogers. We need more shows like this on tv, kids shows now days are crap. Mr.Rogers was wholesome and it didn't need crude jokes or violence or anything to be entertaining. It taught you how to be a good person, I always liked the fact that he wanted to be honest to kids and his show was one of only a few that didn't treat kids like stupid mindless robots.

    R.I.P Mr.Rogers.

  • wait so that was his real voice???

Mr Rogers was my idol growing up there I said it

    Mr Rogers>>>>rest of TV

Dude he changed shoes like 2-3 day

    /end discussion

  • Yeah, he was pretty much the same off camera as on camera. Ran into him a few times growing up in Pittsburgh.

  • ur so lucky!!

  • I was so sad when he died.. A great man indeed.

  • I have to admit that was VERY touching!! great guy =) PBS is really great station, hope it stays around a while!

  • we need more people like this

  • WOW THIS GUY IS SO GREAT!!!!!!!!

  • lol no

  • no, urban ledgend. Google it.

  • I can't believe mr rogers just made me cry!!!! jk jk RIP Fred

  • I agree 100%! Great man.

    God bless him.

  • brilliant communicater, wonderful speech spoken totally from the heart.

  • I can definitely see how people could think he's creepy, because of his speech and mannerisms, but I can almost guarantee you that he was one of the kindest, nicest, most genuine people to walk this Earth.

    I miss him.

  • he's a great man and all, but even when the chair made a joke, he was kinda a buzzkill. lol. i always thought he was creepy.

  • Powerful and absolutely brilliant.

    RIP

  • I used to watch Mr Rogers growing up and I truly believe that his show made a positive mark on my life. He's a great man! Where's the next Fred Rogers?

    David

  • totally got teary eyed by the 4min mark

  • He started off a tad nervous, then once he loses himself into the welfare of the children, he was brilliant.

I live in Canada, and i dont know how beloved he was there...but here, the man is an ICON and will forever go down in history of one of the pioneers of VALUABLE television.

Just hearing his voice is soothing to me, as im sure it is to many others. If you had to throw someone in a time capsule to represent the human race, MR ROGERS would get my vote.

    RiP.

  • Even after death, Mr. Rogers is an important icon in children's television here in America, every bit as relevant as Jim Henson's productions. His show still runs on PBS and I watch it myself with the kids I babysit. I'm 26 and I still like visiting the neighborhood. :)

  • I don't care how gay this sounds, but my eyes are tearing up right now :)

  • I can't believe how much unconditional love and care this man gave freely unto millions of people. This makes me feel like maybe getting rid of my violent games, pointless TV, and unnecesarry anger.

  • Mr. Rogers did everything he could for people. He was an amazing person.

  • we need more people like this.

  • He always did make me feel special. This gave me goosebumps, I wish there was more caring like this. R.I.P Fred. Much love.

  • that is just pwerful and amazing! even I had a goosebump! ha ha ha...

  • if he was concerned about the crap that was on tv back then imagine how he would feel about what's on tv now.

i hope they show re-runs when i have my own kids, lol. i loved his show when i was little

  • its amazing how all of who watch this dint remember about the money, but remember

    what he really wanted

  • I'm not sure how he does it. But Mister Rogers, in just talking, makes each of us feel like a child again. And, in a way, makes us a better person for those few moments. What a wonderful human being. RIP

  • wow if i could keep one man alive 4 the rest of time wouldn't keep my self... it would be mr rogers it was a tragedy that his wonderful giving life had to come to an end.

  • Mr.Rogers makes such a powerful statement that is still valid in today's society. he was a genius many light years ahead of his time.

  • wont play for me

  • "You've made this a special day just by you being you. And I like you just the way you are." This made me cry... dang, I'm a sissy. *LOL* --- I just remember that Mr Rogers was always there for me, when my dad wasn't.

  • You aren't the only one buddy :*(

  • Rest in Peace, Mr. Rogers.

  • INDEED!

  • Wow! That was powerful and moving!

  • @vitamark Agreed!
