yo no bullshit... Mr Rogers is the man. He really practiced what he preached i mean that senator was really gettin under my skin Mr. Rogers really showed patience and found words to truly express how he felt in the most calmest manner of all. RIP Mr. Rogers!
This practically brought me to tears. I loved watching Mr. Roger's show. It had so much meaning to it and dealt with important issues and values. Mr Rogers was an inspirational hero.
Not just an American TV icon. Mr Rogers had a way of making EVERYONE feel important and of great worth to their community no matter what their background. As a minority, I will also truly miss him.
It IS more dramatic for men to work out their feelings rather than fighting... he is absolutely right. It makes for much more interesting screen play... it shows what Mr Rogers called emotional archeology, the roots of feelings.
Just think about how much love could be spread in the world if each community had a figure as serious about peace and caring as Mister Rogers was. It would undoubtedly lead to evil being worked out of each culture as people came together and focused on helping each other and themselves in order to reach a genuine understanding of each other from the heart.
I hope you viewers see the irony in this. The FCC's regulation of the television industry kept out competition via licenses and inflated start-up costs. This resulted in the emergence of the powerful media corporations of today who have a monopoly over what we watch. And their stranglehold on the media outlets have led to abuse and the degradation of the moral quality of their programs.
Now, Mr. Rogers has to plea for a government solution to a problem created by the government. Ironic and sad.
My mother used to see him many days and said he was a very nice man. A friend swam with him in Pittsburgh at their daily workouts. Said he was one cool dude.
Mr Rodgers' makes it rain at PBS bitches. 20 mil out this dil. king friday got a new crown, gold trim on picture picture, and crazy ass spinners on Trolly
we are continuing to be more desensitized ever day. Who can step up and be the next Mr. Roger's for today's children? We need him. Now more than ever!
Great speech. I like how Mr. Roger's changed the senator's demeanor by the end of his speech. At first he didn't care but then by the end, he changed him. I actually met him in line at Knott's Berry Farm year's ago. Great guy. Really down to earth.
I loved Mr.Rogers. We need more shows like this on tv, kids shows now days are crap. Mr.Rogers was wholesome and it didn't need crude jokes or violence or anything to be entertaining. It taught you how to be a good person, I always liked the fact that he wanted to be honest to kids and his show was one of only a few that didn't treat kids like stupid mindless robots.
I can definitely see how people could think he's creepy, because of his speech and mannerisms, but I can almost guarantee you that he was one of the kindest, nicest, most genuine people to walk this Earth.
I used to watch Mr Rogers growing up and I truly believe that his show made a positive mark on my life. He's a great man! Where's the next Fred Rogers?
He started off a tad nervous, then once he loses himself into the welfare of the children, he was brilliant.
I live in Canada, and i dont know how beloved he was there...but here, the man is an ICON and will forever go down in history of one of the pioneers of VALUABLE television.
Just hearing his voice is soothing to me, as im sure it is to many others. If you had to throw someone in a time capsule to represent the human race, MR ROGERS would get my vote.
Even after death, Mr. Rogers is an important icon in children's television here in America, every bit as relevant as Jim Henson's productions. His show still runs on PBS and I watch it myself with the kids I babysit. I'm 26 and I still like visiting the neighborhood. :)
I can't believe how much unconditional love and care this man gave freely unto millions of people. This makes me feel like maybe getting rid of my violent games, pointless TV, and unnecesarry anger.
I'm not sure how he does it. But Mister Rogers, in just talking, makes each of us feel like a child again. And, in a way, makes us a better person for those few moments. What a wonderful human being. RIP
wow if i could keep one man alive 4 the rest of time wouldn't keep my self... it would be mr rogers it was a tragedy that his wonderful giving life had to come to an end.
"You've made this a special day just by you being you. And I like you just the way you are." This made me cry... dang, I'm a sissy. *LOL* --- I just remember that Mr Rogers was always there for me, when my dad wasn't.
I cried...wow

Didn't know this before. The real Mr. Rogers was a pastor, and song writer, and wrote a lot of the songs on his show.
