This cartoon was shown regularly in the UK in the late 70s and early 80s. I loved it. The story lines were interesting, the landscapes were great, and the narration was very good. Filmation's best? Probably
@LordBifford In reality, the Norse traders (and raiders) did occasionally reach the northern coast of western Africa. So it's unlikely, but not impossible. The real question is "why were there any Vikings when the rest of the show in set in the 20th century?"
@LadyDeirdre There are a lot of things not of the 20th Century there. You should see a Grecian colony as seen in "Tarzan and the Olympiads" or the Conquistadors in "Tarzan and the Conquistadors."

i remember this show when i was 8-10 yrs old. they dont make cartoon likes this anymore. I like to see them released tis on dvd. I bought the 1970s saturday morning cartoon and it had this episode on the dvd.
Thank you so much for posting Hexseeker, I remember this series as a child. This series seemed more serious than the Disney cartoon, although meant for children. This version did not insult the intelligence of children.

I don't directly remember watching this, but I MUST have, since I recognize the open music and the 'elephant sound' so clearly!!
