  • Lol amazing but im half expecting her knee to snap :S

  • Why are you guys being so rude? She's amazing, and some people just bend that way. My shoulders can almost go into a horizontal line behind me when Istretch, and it feels wonderful! Just because you're not double jointed doesn't mean that no one is....

  • Some comments are so silly! Those coaches know the best! they won't break you:-D they only show you how it has to be done so than you do it yourself. And it isn't painful coz those girls start gymnastics at VERY early age! It looks painful to you, but to them it's just another part of their training!

  • she looks like shes in pain! o_o

  • Fuck the Russians coaches

  • i dont care if u live longer or not, but i dont want to break in half! lol her bones look like rubber.

  • ...there's a kneecap in the way of her bending her leg that way lol

  • i've seen what els she does and that flexibility can be reached in time but this is just unnatural.

  • She is like that becase of her years of intense training it's beautiful and an amazing

  • she is very very stupid !

  • i dont realli see what she is doin to her there, what is ittt.

  • @missgymnasto079

she is hyper extending her knee!!!! SO UNHEALTHY! i thought that their legs were naturally like that!! WHEN WILL SHE SNAP!!!!!!!!!!

  • what is she doing to her

  • what is she doin to her

  • my knee hurts now!

  • @m3lsiee likewise

  • why is she bending her knee tht way?? thts horrible! id understand regular training like stretching muscles but trying to change the way bones are supposed to go?!

  • bend ...bend ...bend snap

    much better

i can see the person bending her knee back saying that and she just sits there saying will i be able to walk now you dislocated my knee

  • that is not right!

  • My leg cant even get nore thean half a cm of the ground like that

  • Jeasus!!!!!!

  • omigod! that is so not good for her!

  • what was she doing? trying 2 bend her bones or something?

  • i want to do this because im a ballet dancer and i want hyperextended legs

  • i am a ballet dancer too...i i think that those things aren't very difficult for a ballet dancer....they just need hard training...and i have already start to train my flexibility!

  • you guys, this is contortion. this girl puts her butt on her head. do you think that's very good for you? no. i really don't think these people care if overstreaching knees is healthy or not.

  • Contortion is actually very good for you. Contortionists live longer and enjoy better quality of health. I am one, so take it from me. Though I agree, that was not healthy with the knee. If she can do it, and Irina feels no pain, it's probably okay though, NOT to copy =P

  • I am an acrobatic who does some contorion work, so yeah. But I didn't know it was actually good for you. Huh. I just thought that later I would just be in a wheelchair. But I guess not. Sweet.

  • sorry...but....i have heard that rythmic gymnasts have problems with their backs at age up to 30 because of this hard training....

  • No need to apologise my friend...hmm...I have a theory: The trainers actually push these girls futher than they should, which in the long run will do damage. However, I know lots of people who have trained themselves and have never felt better by age 30! So maybe that could be why, do you think?

  • well, I have knee and hip problems. actually i have problems w/ almost all my joints because theye're stretched very hard. and i have to wear a brace because of my scoliosis. you don't have to wait until you're 30 - i'm just 16 yrs old.

  • did you do rhythmic gymnastics?

  • yeah..my mom said tiz 2..

  • @SoulxSpectre That makes no sense. Do you have any actual research to back up your statement? I'm not saying that contortion is bad for you, but it certainly doesn't lead to longer lifespan and better quality of health. Eating healthfully and exercising is your best bet, not contortion.

  • OMG Is that lady trying to hiperextend the artist's knees???? O_o Is that woman stupid or what?? I have hiperextended knees and you have no idea how careful i have to be in my own classes so i don't get injured, Knees are definitely NOT a part of the body that should be stressed like that lady's doing, i don't think she knows a THING about medical care.

  • There's a reason why ballet dancers get hurt a lot. It's a lot more physically demanding than most people think, you have to be in peak physical condition to do that stuff. Also most ballet dancers are already naturally gifted with ridiculous flexibility in limbs.

  • she is not trying to do oversplits shes stretching the knees :-)

  • wtf, u dont stretch the knees, you CANT stretch the knees, if u do its not stretching anymore, its called smashing ur kneecaps... you can cripple someone like that.

  • what a "coach" - she performs wrong training methods!!! this stretching is NOT executed correctly!!! the coach has to put her feet on Irinas hip bone/thigh area and then pulling Irina's lower leg upwards to give Irina a correct oversplit elongation.

  • wow! my knees naturally hyperextend a little and the kneecaps have accidently dislocated in the past because of it. i had to do a milder version of that exercise to re-stretch the tendons after surgery. NOT FUN. why anyone would do it by choice is beyond me!

  • Yeah that is WRONG! What the hell is going on there!!!

  • That's terrible, that women has some nervs !!!!!!!!!!

  • THATS NOT NORMAL

  • OMG that's definitely so not good for the knees...the knees are a very sensitive and fragile part of the body...that would hurt later so bad

  • Woah. I'm a dancer and we have never done that stretch before. =S I'm glad though, it isn't good for your knees.

  • Yup I agree, that can't be good for your knees, evenly when you stretch it often and not at once.

  • um, you're definately not supposed to be stretching tendons and ligaments, and that is all she is stretching there. hello, there is a kneecap in the way.

and gosh, hyperextension hurts even when it's natural. her knees are going to be horrible later on.

  • that's bad for the knees, she will probably have artrosis

  • yes, that's what i thought to !

  • I find hyperextension to be very unattractive

all Russian ballet dancers do it

I like no hyperextension at all.

  • Is she really trying to stretch her hyperectension? I've never seen anyone do that. Yes irina is extreme, look up some others photos on google, or yahoo. =)Sad that her RG isn't as good as it should be, and she is mainly known for just her flexibility.

  • i would be scared to even do what she does beacuse i would breack something

  • She wants to perfect her dancing, and she is amazing at doing so, and no matter how much pain Irina endures, she continues to persevere. I don't believe that many of us have seen someone so inspirational.

  • It looks like the people are trying to break her.
