  • Yeah!RESIDENT EVIL FOREVER!!!!Best game series in my opinion!

  • You need more subs man.

  • Thanks I appreciate that! Well, new subs seem to be coming daily now so I am happy, I take quality over quantity as far as subs go! Case in point....YOU!

  • i don't think it had to do with your childhood

    in particular.

some people collect postal stamps or whatever without any childhood memories attached and with equal determination.

even some young folks today collect retrogames, they weren't even born back then.

but of course it add's to the flavour.

maybe in another life you would have collected something else ?

i think it's just something that grows on a person, not so much the result of one event

    or specific time period.

  • Well after a lot of thought and thinking back I certainly DO think that is exactly what it is, in my case, I don't speak for anyone else......

  • hi,

nor can i speak for somebody else,

but if you are into collecting things,

might as well collect things you liked in your youth and get that "buzz" from.

but don't start a fight with your wife just yet,

i think she may be partially right as well

    somehow.

    i'm not realy shure anymore.

your right, this is a interesting subject.

  • here's what is cooking my noodle right now.

    what if it's inverted ?

maybe it's not a negative experiance in your youth

that triggered it, but something today that makes you want to relive those happy careless moments of your youth.

    maybe both...

    i'm thinking in circles now.

    loading..... please wait.....

  • after that, you want them all and actively go hunt for them. moving the mental "reward" from playing games to finally tracking down

that illusive gamecard you have been waiting for so long and finally holding it in your hands like

the hunter that finally gets his prey.

maybe i think hard core collectors have moved a little from being "gamers" into collectors that also still like the games of course.

    [cont]

  • i just collect cartridges because i want to build my house from them.

no, seriously, there are many reasons to collect.

there are many different type of colectors.

me ? i just want to play those awesome games and feel the nostalgia from that.

others may get the buzz specially from hardware ?

i think this is often the beginning of the collectorsdisease.

you allready got some and like to have more.

    [continued]

  • I do collect retro games of all kind... not actively as before, but I do.

Coleco game system is the first game system I did have in my life and still have today, and I did new games for it. When I'm selling a Coleco game from my collection, after I feel like something is missing. Each time someone is selling my creations 10 times the original price at an auction site, I'm pissed off.

Do I have time to play? Sure, but my "modern life style" suggest me to watch tv and surf the internet instead.

  • what do you create and wth don't you sell it

    at auction sites yourself ?

    watch TV ? what's that ? lol

  • Q: what do you create?

R: various softwares and docs used by many including myself to do new Coleco games.

Q: why don't you sell them at auction sites yourself?

R: I did try using auction sites once, I've got complains and I didn't like it either. By selling directly I can develop a relationship and trade games to continue my own Coleco games collection.

    Q: Watch TV ? what's that ?

R: It's a technology that keep people's attention in a hypnotic dream with suggestions and fantasy.

  • 1: your a hero !! realy, don't be modest.

2: i can relate to that. maybe your right..

    3: i just gotta try that !!! ;D

4: where can i get a colecovision system in europe for a reasonable price ?

  • You should write to me personnaly... it's off-topic based on this video subject which is "Why do we collect retro-games?" and my nano-answer to it is "because I want to".

  • another point on that true maybe there is a bit of rose tinted vision going on i am 28 now and its nice to be reminded of the great games i played when i was a kid. As for getting older what the hell who cares we all age might as well have fun while we are here

  • I collect because i love all the older games systems they are so simple as are the games but they are so playable and so addictive. Modern games are okay but nothing beats Megaman 2 and a two button joypad

  • Yeah I collect retro games for nostalgia reasons, and I also enjoy the simplicity of the games compared to the games out today.

  • Heh, know what you mean about reacting to a GAME, of all things. Not horror-related, but I was shocked when I found out that Sara in Ys The Vanished Omens in the SMS had been murdered, for instance.

Funny about you playing 'til your friend fell asleep...ha ha...that's some long gaming time there!!

  • Yeah I could never play the long today even if I had the time I think lol! Thanks for the comment.

  • Yes, its about the nostalgia but - are todays games better? They are certainly different. They are more complex but who knows - we will likely be saying this in 15 years about 360 games.. Today I played Ghouls & Ghosts. I thought "Right, this is it" I have never finished the game & always saw it as an immense challenge as a kid (especially when it was 20p a credit!). It took me a good while but I finished the game, properly, twice over; I don't get that feeling of achievment from modern games.

  • Agreed, I felt that way with Metroid and Zelda....

  • that was the good old days

  • yeah me2 I remenber play residen evil 1 me and my 2 friend we jump when the dog broke the window

  • I agree, although we all didn't have the best childhood the fact we had this escapism, as you said the ability to be whatever we wanted really captures something in your imagination and it lives with you forever. Thanks foir posting this reply and for supporting me for so long, have a nice day!

  • Oh awesome! Thank you very much.

  • I got two broken 360's to work with one it seems just the DVD drive is broken sadly they are different DVD Drive Brands ... or it would be a simple logic card swap ... well I'll keep all my gamer pals updated on how my project goes.

  • Cool, always good to bring a console back to life..............

  • read my quote on my page mnc122703

  • LOL! Well it seems we are of the same mindset!

  • 95 out man , where are you located?

  • Kelowna B.C. Canada. It has been and is likely to be a hotter than usual summer her though. Not to humid usually and overnight usually dips down to about 1/2....

  • im gonna be in canada soon , too see the falls in onterio

  • Coolio, saw them years back when we moved form Toronto to Kelowna, pretty impressive for sure.......

  • Right-on man, I'm right with you.

I totally agree., in a way, collecting is about hang'n onto youth., who wants to get old?? Old skool memories are awesome.

I love my PS3., but give me a 6'r of brewski and my Genesis and I'm "liv'n la vida loca"!!!
