I like the Ace Combat series ever since Distant Thunder/Shattered Skies. And besides Assistance Off Mode, this game does not have anything to offer that AC already has...

Well its the ERS and the Assistance Off Mode then but other than that nothing new really, maybe some different planes. But Ace combat isn't for PC.

haxw doesn't even come close to ace combat. i don't even know what happened on this game it was so boring that i was skipping the cutscenes. your wingmen are idiots that cant fly a plane they get like 3 kills while i got like 40-60. cockpit view doesnt even have a hud WTF!!!! and it feels like your far back as if a 2 year old kid was flying the plane so if you want to play this game bad RENT IT!!!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS GAME.

this game is bad i played it on elite my first time and beat it in about 6 hours. the AI is terrible you lock on then fire and kill no matter what. its very repetitive, ers is for nubs and don't tell me it isn't off mode made this game shit specially for online. so copper do not recommend a $60 dollar game to ppl if you don't know what you're talking about so for everyone specially ppl that like ace combat rent this crap cuz its a bad imitation of ace combat. 1 out of 100. good thing i rented :D

Really so its 1 out of 100. Well I suppose you would rather play space invaders for 6 hours then. Really the ace combat AI isn't that good either. I enjoyed the Assistance Off Mode actually because it allowed some sick manuvers they'r funny in versus. Sure its not a flight sim and neither is Ace combat. But the game isn't 60bucks wth did you buy it??

i rented this game and it wasn't worth it either and yes ace combat ( i dont know about ace combat 6 cuz i dont have a 360 so im talkin about ps2) has a much better AI than this game have you played it in ace???? if not try it they actually fire at you and dodge missiles. offmode is for nubs that dont know how to follow enemies yea its fun to mess around with but useless and its irritating how i have to use it to do moves that i should be able to do without it

lmao no im not if i wanna play a realistic game i would play allied force. hawx is not fun it doenst provide a challenge at all even on elite enemies stay still when you fire at them and they die no matter how bad you are and if you cant kill them well then your even more pathetic than this game and dogfighting online sucks cuz of offmode its like playin call of duty with see through wall hack its pathetic you dont need any skills to kill anyone is not fun

What? Just hold down that change target button in ace combat and you get pretty much the same thing. I used that alot. But seriusly you can play in games with offmode disabled.

And trying to find a challange against AI allways fail. Will take a while before the AI reach a good skill level.

Btw no offence or anythign but it sounds like your not very good at online dogfighting. And sience its a game with very little (or no) cheap shots you never feel like your being an ass for being "good".

the AI sucks no matter what difficulty you play and online sucks too cuz of ofmode i played it once 1st round i got highest kills i never used offmode and noone did at least noone killed me in offmode then game leader got pissed and started playin in offmode and i would spawn and get a missile on my ass almost right away i ended up dodging over 200 missiles on that one fight i still got my ass kicked and every time the dude used offmode like i said just like wall hack on an fps no skills reqed.

If you play under the same circumstances its fair play. I like when its intense (and I dont fail) it makes teamwork more important. So i allways awenser defend requests. Just hoping other ppl are too. Because when you can co-operat with someone to beat people its just so cool :)

Anyone can take you out with radar guided missiles when flying in off mode. And if you get enough missiles at you (btw them missiles are harder to avoid in multiplayer) you just lack the speed to keep it up.

well that time i was the only one on my team that killed on the 1st round and i was the only one that got killed on the second so it was pretty much 3 vs 1 i got no back up from my teammates and tbh i dont care cuz they sucked but my problem with this game is offmode online if offmode wasnt in multiplayer and you could do all the moves in regular view i would have bought the game instead of renting it cuz no matter how good the story it will get boring but not pvp

ace combat is better it has more detail,.,.,.and hawx dont,.,..,.,just drop a bomb and look at the bomb it flyis wierd so hawx suks.,

More detail? No.. Not really. The ground targets are never close together in ace combat but in hawx they'r harder to hit (without bombs)

Thank you for saying "ghost recon" is the technical game of games and not "rainbow six". I am so tired of people saying rainbow six is better when they obviously haven't played GRAW or GRAW 2.

I was referring to this gen of games. Personally I like graw better than the old ghost recons. Tactically I won't argue. My comment was on the "rainbow six" phenomenon. I have always believed the GR games better than RS.

Good review, Gonna have to buy this game now . Most reviews dont mention Ace Combat 6 much but this does. If its a step up from Ace Combat I'm definatly happy. End War was crap btw. That game left a bad taste in my mouth for Clancey games.
