why should it not be a law killing snakes...most snakes are harmless, and they get killed just because people are afraid of them.......its against the law to kill people as well, but its still done. i am glad that its against the law to kill snakes. its the same here in michigan as well that you are not allowed to kill, harm, or catch any snake that is a native snake, or that has not caused you harm in any way. if you get bitten, u have to prove you were bitten

It is not against the law to kill gopher snakes in Tennessee because they are not native. In order for that to have been a gopher snake it would have had to have been a pet. It looked to me from the scratchy footage to be a corn snake. Corns climp up and gophers prefer to stay in holes in the ground.
