  • I was there that night. It was great. I was an extra for a few days at the Roxy. I have mad memories of that movie and all of the bboys in the hood. Legendary

  • I love it... still to this day

  • Buck 4 and Kuriaki Both were killed in drug related incidents some time ago. So sad, this movie got me into breakin' back in the late 90's.

  • Powerful Pexster looks like he's Lil Leps big brother when they stand next to each other.

  • @wishpackers

Powerful Pexster looks like Wilfredo Gomez (the champion boxer during the 80s)

  • Thanks for putting the names with the dancers. I was driving myself crazy trying to figure out who was who.

  • one of the hip hop essence the bboys and breakdance, beat street one of my favorite fliks back in the days brings back memories...hiphop lives fo ever!

  • rock steady still fuck these dudes up..they 9 to 7 and rod\

  • Pex you are the man !! :)

  • Hahaha errr who the f*** are you?? you mention get a life on your profile mr strange sense of humor? (whatta a dick head)practice what you preach

  • you tell em gdamage !!

  • First time ever that anyone had done Windmalls off the shoulders that Kuriaki did toward the end. Everyone use to slid off their foreheads, look closely and you'll Kuriyaki's head doesn't touch the floor during his windmills. Incredible.

  • @tvo14 yep kuriyaki's windmill was phenomenal!. it is called the bouncing windmill because of the way he bounces and hence his head not touching the floor. to do it with such speed and accuracy shows kuriyaki to be the bboy legend he is.

  • @Jay1898 It's called Nutcrackers.

  • esse video é muito louco mano é nois na fita podes crew

  • This was back when the roxy had a purpose, instead accommodating a bunch of sweaty o ring violators.

  • Word.

  • I thought Janny ' dictation' K was part of the rocksteady crew but hey I guess I was wrong!

  • this battle was a classic

  • What was Frosty Freeze doing during this period? Why wasn't he in the movie with RSC?

  • BEAT STREET NUCKA !!!

  • I must agree with the previous post, this is the shit, what they do today ain't even close,BIG UPS TO MY BOY CRAZY LEGS-Oz

  • it´s (powerful) pex(ster), he did a lotta these freezes like that when i grabbed his balls :D

  • rapidshare(dot)com/files/113208342/Lisa_Fisher_-_Xena_-_Only _Love__Shadows_Of_The_Night_.mp3

  • whos the first breaker? to jump in whats his name?

  • Its a close call, but i think the New York City Breakers come out top on this one. Takes me back to being sixteen again poppin and lockin!!...

  • Does ANYBODY know or have that song at the beginning of the clip....the lyrics go something like "shadows of the night, seem to follow me"......if ANYONE knows, PLEASE HOLLA BACK...THANK YOU

  • the song is from lisa fisher - only love (shadow s of the night)

  • Thank you ! i found it shortly after i posted the comment, thanks again ! Peace.

  • one of the most historical scenes in hip hop to those who really know! thanks for posting.

  • kuriaki's round is fuckin legendary! unbeatable

  • @scottyboy58 He's also a cutie pie.

  • @scottyboy58 u know dat - it was a legendary routine.

  • after crazy comes on it seems beat street takes it one betters

  • it feels real not made up or copied

  • this is also the best version on yahoo. CHECK THIS ONE OUT PEOPLE!

  • buena

  • Hey!!! Esto es de la Pelicula Beat Street......Buenissima...

  • this is legendary. no one does it better.

  • This is how dance should be filmed, not the crap that you get with movies like Stomp The Yard edited like a DJ Qbert mixtape.

  • I KNO FO REAL MAN. I AGREE WIT U, and u kno what sucks, that movie thats full of crap "you got served" is supposed to replace BEAT STREET!! CAN U BELIEVE THAT, somethin like a sequel of beat street. agree wit u all the way, wish they cud dance like this now

  • what also sucks is all the new jacks who battle these crews and show them no respect around the world. They don't even kno what would've happened to them back n the day if they tried that crap in a street battle...let them new jacks keep all the gay ass gymnastics, this is the real, we was doin flairs and windmills before they became Olympic floor moves....

  • Okay flairs came from the gymnastics... let's get that straight... they took it from that 2 handle saddle gymnast event. Other than that I never saw a windmill done in gymnastics.

  • der film is sooooooo killer

  • Somebody invent a Time machine, and warp me the fuck back over there!

    80's RULE!!!!

  • true, if we could live in the 80's forever, the world would be a happier place.

  • Yea boh this is dope. Thanks for the upload man, I still remember the feeling when I watched this at the movies - same feeling as when I watched Star Wars. So hyped I nearly cried was that wicked.

  • The Bronx rockers were better than RSC!!

  • Both Rock Steady Crew and NYC Breakers brought bboying to the mainstream in the 80's.

  • this is the illest battle in the history of breaking! also, Harry Belafonte helped spearhead this movie. Yes, he has been down for a long time. Peace.

  • k, i think this one clearly goes to the new york city breakers....

  • I heard that RSC was asked to go easy on them. =\

  • are u serious? i thought both crews were at the same level. they were both advanced

  • Nikitobu, I don't know what ever happened to Lee but I know for sure he didn't invent the 1990. I think Crazy Legs is credited with inventing that move.

  • its a shame the building is being ripped down in a couple months!!!

  • Haha love this movie, seen it about 20 times back in the day

  • 20 times, thats it ?? ;)

  • i love this part. noone can match the style and attitude of NYC bboys. even the way they're shown walking towards..you just gotta go "damn theyre dope"

  • Im with you bro, they were so smooth, does anybody know what ever happened to Lee? he was the only one who wasn't a member of NYcity breakers and by the way he was the one who invented the 1990 move which is in the movie.

  • Yeah, Crazy Legs invented the 1990, and Ken Swift named it. He called it the 1990, because it seemed so futuristic, back in the early 80s.

  • Damn ill believe dat too i heard the bit about legs inventin it by accident but the ken swift part sound real dope eh? lol kinda spooky in a way!!

  • i miss all that, it went so fast
