  • this slideshow fits the song perfectly. this stylish pop art paired with melancholic electro pop music sets a beautiful atmosphere. reminds of the mood set in the movie.

  • These paintings are Lichenstein..a true pop artist and a wonderful song...

  • FOREVER EVER?

  • Hey.

    Hi.

    Sorry about the noise.

I was gonna call the cops.

    I wish you would.

  • check my freestly off this song

  • What would you call this style of art?

  • @thimberland49 It's Pop-Art

  • @eroticfishcake Thank you, sir/maam

  • The last time I saw a movie's mood so influenced by music was in the Silence of the Lambs-check out Goodbye Horses by Q lazzarus. Now Ryan Gosling is no Ted Levine sewing and dancing but I thought the type of music and the sequencing reminded me a lot of that classic scene.

  • Drive :)

  • rewind again

  • Soundtrack definitely helped in making this a deadly fucking movie :D

  • Drive was great. The overall mood and way it was filmed . This song was a great fit for it. Dot da genius w kid Cudi sampled it. Teleport 2 me check it out

  • Quentin Tarantino is fucking amazing, don't get me wrong, but Drive wouldn't get as much anticipation as it does now if Quentin directed this. Just saying.

  • @christheshizzest

if quentin tarantino directed this ,, it would be more killing/comedy an you wouldnt be listening to this song right now

  • @ramsesabydos Exactly what I was saying....

  • EVERYONE GO LISTEN TO KID CUDI "TELEPORT TO ME' YOU'LL LOVE IT!

  • Inspired decision to put Lichtenstein art to this song. It fits perfectly. The spoken word section mid-song could easily be in the word bubble of one the pictures.

  • Does anyone know what the style of comic book drawing is called??

  • @qwertyfire ART BY Roy Lichtenstein

  • and a real hero

  • The Academy Awards totally igonored this fantastic piece of artistic filmmaking.

It only recieved one award for best Sound editing.

Why not Best director, Best supporting male, best original soundtrack ???

  • @fasciatus I agree, but it could not recieve an nomination in best soundtrack because it's not composed by one individual...

  • @fasciatus stop on

  • @fasciatus Because the academy is a stupid fuck of existence.

  • This song is actually the reason I watched the movie...

  • so true ,, i swear on my soul i havent eatin not a crumb of food since tuesday an i pretty much dont sleep, but all i do is think of my goddess an angels ,,im totaly crazy

  • @ramsesabydos same here... :(

  • Fucking masterpiece. Gives me the chills alllllll over

  • It's not overrated...

  • Comment removed

  • It wasn't a great film, but I agree that it's pretty much an overrated film. Not saying it wasn't good, I enjoyed the film myself; just thought it would've been a little better. 3.5/5 stars for me. This is a independent film.

  • i'm a guy.

  • Drive was a shitty movie. Good song though

  • @gbrlslzr23 How dare you!

  • @gbrlslzr23 Drive was definitely a good movie one of the most underrated of 2011.

  • This movie is great, but definitely not underrated. Strand0410 is true.

Shawshank Redemption for example was underrated, Drive has been acclaimed. End.

Amazing movie, amazing soundtrack, amazing actors and amazing director.

  • Kid Cudi <3 hahaha!

  • "for-ever-ever? for-ever-ever?" "Yes bitch! Will this feeling last forever god dammit?"

  • we love so much. the whole soundtrack is brilliant.

  • what do you mean film 101... this is one of the best art house movies in awhile...it isn't meant to be mass consumed.

  • CHECK OUT DESIRE UNDER YOU SPELL 2012 REMIX!

    /watch?v=M4V8sGl4coE

  • i would be mad if drive didn't win best movie of the the year but to not get nominated?Thats fucking indescribeable, this movies better than everything on that list.

  • Im going to watch Drive again,,,,I loved it

  • kid cudi sample this song

  • Do you think this part can last forever and ever?

you mean like forever and ever, forever and ever?

    sure...

    gud I hope not

  • REPLAY REPLAY REPLAY REPLAY REPLAY !!!! >_<

  • very strong base line

  • On Gosling's almost expressionless demeanor...lethal! A solid performance.

  • @jaredbren favorite acting performance ever by far.

  • oh man----i think i go out and drive through the city...while listening to this song..

  • Sometimes art is meant to simply be experienced, not analyzed. The emotional power of this movie is what makes it great.

  • @wafffl3: such as what? great movies dont always follow what is learned in film 101. and of all the movies that have disgraced the theater, you chose 'drive' to criticize?

  • when that standard dude got shot dead i knew it would be a great movie

  • Kid Cudi has almost the same beat to his song Teleport to Me, Jamie

  • Wheres the deluxe version?

  • Drive: Best Movie in our young Century

  • Dreamy track

  • saw it lastnight.

    Fucking intense.

  • Drive was fucking amazing.

  • hey guys, I havent seen Drive yet, problem?

  • @mrladiesdream Just watch it and if you don`t like it we`ll meet in the lift...

  • love & violence r twin face of the same medal. epic scene.

  • LHbestfreindG

I do the same thing!!! I listen to almost all of the songs you do:D I'm also doing that shit right now:)

  • Roy Lichtenstein's art is a great choice for this. It's interesting how his work evokes feelings of the 80s in a lot of us, though most of his work featured here was done in the 60s.

  • Drive is awesome! I'm surprised by how much I enjoyed it...

  • Almost everynight I have to listen to: 1= Kavinsky Nightcall 2= Kavinsky The Crash 3= Desire Under Your Spell 4= College A Real Hero 5= The Cure Burn (the crow soundtrack) 6= Devils Night (the crow soundtrack) 7= Believe in Angels (the crow soundtrack) 8= Behind Blue Eyes 9= By this River by Brian Eno 10= How to Disappear Completely Radiohead ... then I go to sleep!
  • @LHbestfriendG oh burn by the cure yessssss

  • @LHbestfriendG right on, buddy

  • drive, reminds me of taxi driver.

  • drive was f*cking amazing,!

  • goood movie awesome ost this movie has everything

  • I'm only gay for Gosling

  • I knew I heard this before!

    Teleport 2 Me <3

  • Forever ever?

  • wow kid cudi stole this

  • @tltjr91 it's not called stealing it's called sampling and you would be truly surprised at how many rappers do it

  • @alloyd1010 true, but he practically took everything from this song. i know a lot of rappers sample songs, but this is kid cudi's new "band" and he chooses to sample someones song and make it a single.

  • ++ CHECK OUT THE UNDER YOUR SPELL 2012 REMIX ++

    /watch?v=M4V8sGl4coE

  • i can only listen to this song through a wall

  • @Vivaswaq you can download the instrumental for free off of johnny jewel's soundcloud page. i was looking for it for a long time also.

  • Absolutely wonderful. Loved the movie aswell.

  • Drive is the most underated movie ever

  • @canmanproductions lol how is it underrated when it is at 93% on rotten tomatoes and 8 out of 10 on imdb?

  • @canmanproductions I don't know of anyone who gave Drive less than an excellant rating...

  • @canmanproductions truly is a masterpiece

  • @canmanproductions drive had potential to be a great movie, but the director was just terrible. There were so many film 101 faux pas that he just kept doing over all film. I couldn't even enjoy a lot of the film due to this.

  • @Wafffl3 For starters you should think about taking Film 101 again.Never have I seen such a stylish movie in recent times, and still the director is shit?

    Watch again.

  • @canmanproductions

only seen it rated in the 90-100's where it belongs :) amazing film, good day sir

  • @canmanproductions Underrated? It's scored nothing but positive reviews, is already a cult hit before its home cinema release and has just about every film blog raving. There's nothing underrated about this movie, it's heaped with well-deserved praise.

  • @Strand0410 Good comment that needed to be posted.

  • @Strand0410

I agree wholeheartedly...with a Cannes award it will go big...typical american attitudes...if it doesnt do AMAZING in the opening weekend at american cinemas its a flop...pffft...

  • @Strand0410

I think he was just trying to say that the average viewer does not realize how great this film is. People don't understand arthouse cinema.

  • @LittlePrinceV1 That's a bit condescending don't you think? Half my friends (none of whom I'd consider film buffs) have seen and loved this from just word of mouth.

  • @Strand0410 'Drive' did try a little too hard to emulate Tarantino's stylised violence of the early 90s to be fair! Also I feel everything about it screamed trying too hard to achieve that perfect hipster 'film Noir' tag but hey I enjoyed it but overrated is the word you are looking for not underrated!

  • @CiaranVanDon I thought this movie couldn't have been further from Tarantino's films. While Drive was largely defined by its aesthetic, understated style, Tarantino's relied on sheer absurdity and great dialogue. The only common ground is rather low budget and that they both crime dramas. If anything, it was closer to Clint Eastwood's earlier projects.

  • @Strand0410 I'm not going to try and reason with someone who is clearly obsessed with this film! Read the UK review in the Telegraph online about 'Drive' and try and get some perspective on the film before you 'go off' on unsubstantiated rants!

  • @CiaranVanDon That's bullshit. Something as subjective as art cannot be labelled into very absolute categories. Unsubstantiated? The only thing unsubstantiated is the flimsy excuse you seem to bring, to suggest this movie is anything like Tarantino's work, that revel in bombast and pop culture references. You could have made the arguable, but flawed comparison between Drive and something like Taxi Driver, but no... You're quoting the Telegraph UK.

  • @Strand0410 I should be allowed to disagree with your opinion and have my own opinion or informed opinion. Your obsession with this film is clouding your judgement - your a sheep who follows the flock ;)

  • @CiaranVanDon Bullshit. You're so hung up on people liking this movie that you're trying so hard to buck the trend, you're resorting to incoherent name-calling and and insults to prop up your flimsy argument. You think you're being a hipster by disliking lauded and objectively-good film, it's almost laughable how little sense you make. You're Armond White.

  • @Strand0410 Hey man your obsession with this film is clouding your judgement, take a deep breath, relax and blow that bullshit out of your lungs - you will feel better for it :-)

  • @CiaranVanDon Nope. I didn't even think this film was the best movie of the year and have read plenty of valid points of criticism. YOUR reasons for hating this film however, are juvenile, petty and based on something as arbitrary as "gee, I'm cool for hating this movie people love!" You can't even defend your position with an argument worth a fuck, without it being torn apart by every other person on this thread so resort to ad hominems and circular arguments.

  • @Strand0410 No good sir I give you my reasons for disliking this movie in earlier posts, you don't have to try and belittle me with your penchant for big words and ridiculous rhetoric! Now try and be less biased with your arguments and then we can have a more balanced conversation - just try it, it will be fun ;)

  • @CiaranVanDon Like Tarantino? Nope. Addressed by someone else. Violence? Really? Very little of Tarantino's 90s films were gratuitously violent. Even the infamous ear scene from Reservoir Dogs occurred off-screen. Very little dialogue, pop culture references or moments of levity in Drive vs.... every Tarantino film in history. It didn't try 'hard' to earn a hipster 'noir' tag, it was a conventionally shot drama that happened to have a somewhat obscure sountrack and director. Try again.

  • @Strand0410 Why are you so angry, I didn't like the super-stylised violence, the bland storyline and Ryan Goslings monotone moody ramblings - he's a borderline mute for god's sake. It did try very very hard to be an LA 'noir' type film no matter what you say. A film shouldn't have to try so hard to be cool. You should really try and be less biased in your judgement of this film, loosen up and critique with less bias and I might start to believe you - try just a little harder ;)

  • @CiaranVanDon But now that's just differing personal preference, which I can understand. If someone who hates off-hand kooky dialogue, they might not like Pulp Fiction but that does not make it a bad or overrated movie. You don't like Drive for those reasons? Sure, whatever. But Drive did not 'try hard' to be 'cool'. It wasn't one of those faux-indie projects that wears its indie status on its sleeve. It was earnest, well-made and an excellent genre picture.

  • @Strand0410 you tell him, sir.

  • @CiaranVanDon Drive didn't try and be cool, it just was as cool as you can get. The movie oozes with confidence, and the tension is cranked up high throughout the flick. The acting is terrific, great performances from Gosling, Brooks and Cranston. The soundtrack goes great with the film as well. It's a different film, not your average Hollywood film, so it might be a little shock to your system. Refn did a great job directing, Drive deserved to be nominated for more awards if you ask me.

  • @chasepetrosino Look listen man I'm not in the mood to listen to your Bullshit, you wanna see a 'different' or above average movie watch Delicatessen, Naked Lunch, Brazil or El Topo - don't give me that crap that this film was so different from the norm! It was your typical bog standard & overrated movie!

  • @Strand0410 'Baaaaaaa' your herder is calling you lol

  • @CiaranVanDon bullshit. i do not see much resemblance to tarantino at all aside from it being gratuitously violent. speaking of overrated, who made pulp fiction

  • @1derelicte Yes as I said the super stylised violence in 'Drive' was reminiscent of Tarantino's early work and as you said the gratuitous nature of it was also another trait of his work. Pulp Fiction was in a different league to this film to be fair, no masterpiece but certainly brilliant ;)

  • @CiaranVanDon Tarantino?? Did you see the same movie?!

  • @CiaranVanDon Gee i guess drive is alot like collateral too right? because they both have that aerial L.A. city shot at night? hey but that's okay though because i think nowadays it's so hip to disagree with a majority even if you clearly don't know what you're talking about and is obviously talking out of your ass.

  • @cyrus138 Collateral although not a great film was probably executed a lot better than this ;) I am actually the minority who dislike elements of this film. It is people like you who think they are hip by worshiping this movie, not me who disagrees with the majority and the mainstream mantra! I told you before I liked the film but I would say it is massively overrated! I sir am not an idiot and should be allowed to express an opinion, I don't follow the sheep unlike you!

  • @CiaranVanDon This highlights just how flawed and petty your position is. You're trying so hard to rally against what you perceive to be the majority opinion of this film, you're contrary for the sake of being a contrarian. You accuse someone of being hip, yet you're doing the incredibly hipster-ish thing by dismissing praise for Drive as 'mainstream.' There isn't some imaginary sliding scale of popularity that, once skewed to one end, you must balance the other to appear ahead of the curve.

  • @CiaranVanDon - I don't see anything in this film that relates to Tarantino at all. If at all, then maybe to Melville (Le Samurai) and in it's consequent violence maybe to Scorsese (Taxi Driver, Goodfellas). Comparing to the 98% of pure bs that American film industry releases every year, Drive is a a perfect gem........

  • @tokaidon78 yea man it definitly has a melville feel to it.

its funny you said that cuz he reminded me of alain delon while i was watching it.

  • @Strand0410 maybe he refers to the oscar nominations, which are in this year way more boring than last year

  • @neoschneewittchen But Oscar noms don't mean shit and I thought by this point, every film buff with a brain understood that. The Academy is 70% old white men who are grossly out-of-touch. We don't need their validation to be the final word on quality any more.

  • @Strand0410 but sadly only got nominated for sound editing. I thought for sure that Brooks would get a nom.

  • @Strand0410 when he sais underrated, he means it deserves more praise.

  • @iProsPeXx I know what underrated means and it's completely irrelevant. This movie has near universal positive reviews, a standing ovation at Cannes, and is a cult hit. How much more praise can it possibly earn? The Oscars? They don't mean anything in this day and age.

  • @canmanproductions I wouldn't say underrated. Under-box-officed, yes. However the film was robbed by the Academy, but that was predictable.

  • @canmanproductions

I have never agreed with another statement SO MUCH in my life

  • @canmanproductions who is underrating it? nobody.

  • @canmanproductions true! i think its one of the best movies made in recent years. i think it should go down as 1 of the classics for sure. the music and film blended to perfectly to make true cinematic genius

  • @canmanproductions Bullshit. What's wrong with you ?
