  • Breast feeding is for animals!! You people are sick!

  • Breast feeding is for fucking animals!!! This shit is for fucked up people that like there kids hanging off there tit!

  • @SuperDoug1989 LOL oh Lord. You're sick. I sure hope you weren't born in 1989.. if so, you're well old enough to know better! If breastfeeding was for "animals" then please explain why women produce milk during pregnancy? x

  • i agree with sheepbob it is gross just to stick out your boob

  • i agree with sheepbob it is gross just to stick out your boob in puplic

  • That was beautiful :)

can't wait to have a child of my own.

I personally think and know breasts where made to feed your baby,

some people choose not to nurse there children that is their personal preference. But i want to exclusively breastfeed for 1 year+ that would be my ultimate gaol. I pray that i will be able to feed my child/children the natural way. Lucy i look up to you as an amazing role model, and look forward to your advise in the future. And promise to watch your videos until i die.

  • If people are offended by someone feeding they're child in public then dont look! Poor child shouldn't be hidden away when they are trying to eat! Jeez it's natural! Oh and I'm a FF Mum!

  • I'm sorry but I think I have to agree with Baelejandro. I feel so uncomfortable in public when a mother just pops out her boob infront of everyone to feed her baby. It's not hard to cover up and be respectful. Not every person; parent or not, wants to see your stuff out. I plan on breast feeding my children but there's a way to do it.

  • @sheepbob It is hard when its 110+ degrees like it is here currently.

  • IMO all this crazy stuff is just that!!! CRAZY!!! Since when did we pick apart eachother over parenting issues???? Never once does she say or write that if you don't breastfeed your a bad mom!!! This video I'm sure was her good intentions on promoting something she is passionate about! Just because you disagree doesn't mean your right or her...life is just a bunch of opinions but if we loose passion now what is there to live for?

  • I'm only 17 and I have already decided that a few years from now when I have kids of my own that I'm going to breastfeed. You're such a great inspiration to everyone. Thanks for all the videos. You're such a beautiful woman inside and out and your a great mommy. :)

  • This video is beautiful Lucy! I 100% get what you ate saying. And some great facts! Thank you

  • This is an AMAZING video! Wow. I am not a mom yet but I thank you for inspiring women and giving information to many. Very sweet and touching.

  • I only just came across your videos! This is a beautiful piece! I'm still nursing my almost 18 month old and it's lovely to see women out there normalising breastfeeding and not sensationalising it.

  • Also, I have seen a lot of comments about thrush. Thrush can be treated with plain yogurt on your nipple and that in turn will help in the baby's mouth as your natural ph is restored and the good bacterial cultures are established. If the baby is older, you can even feed them the yogurt to treat the thrush. Ladies, plain active cultured yogurt can even help with your yeast infections DOWN THERE. Freeze some as ice cubes, insert and you have a natural, chemical free yeast infection cure.

  • I am a fan of fed babies, whether nursed, bottle fed, fed by wild wolves, whatever. I encourage women to TRY to nurse. The first few months can hurt and other issues may arise, but when it works, its magic. I wish that people would stop taking it as a personal affront when a woman talks about nursing. Not all people can or will nurse, but encouraging even one person to try makes a difference. I have nursed for 27 months and am 37 weeks pregnant. I will tandem nurse my wee ones until I stop.

  • @MakeupLuck Congrats on ur pregnancy :) My son (in this vid) is 22 months & I'm 22 weeks pregnant & we're still nursing.

  • @xxxjoelpolexxx Thank you and congrats to you also!Your babies are beautiful. Congrats on your nursing streak as well. It can be hard while your pregnant, especially the dry nursing when the milk temporarily dries up. If you ever feel like talking about it, let me know, I'm a happy advocate.Nursing is very important to my son. He is so sweet with it too. Not long ago, I was crying and he offered me my own boobie. It's what comforts him, so he wanted to share it with me.

  • Beautiful video!

  • i luv this vid it is gorgous i think all mothers should breastfeed (not if they cant for some reason)but if they dont have any problems they should breastfeed there child its the best way for the child to get nutrients, awwwwwwwwwwwww and i luv the pic of u feeding kacen and your cat hangin around kacen its sooooooooo cute

  • i luv this vid it is gorgous i think all mothers should breastfeed (not if they cant for some reason)but if they dont have any problems they should breastfeed there child its the best way for the child to get nutrients

  • Lucy i watch your channel, stephanies and loras channel also, I watch the three of you for different reasons and agree and disagree with some of the things that have been said, thats my own opinion, I was 19 when I had my son and the nurses in the hospital were no help or support with breastfeeding i felt alone and a failure when i couldnt get my son to latch on, soooo rather than argue just be thrilled that the 3 of you could do it and that each of you are giving information to people like me!

  • @stephlonergan22 Breastfeeding isn't easy for most, especially not firs time Moms. Lord knows I encountered every problem known to mankind when it came to nursing my daughter. W/ out the support & knowledge it is beyond easy to not succeed w/ a successful nursing relationship. I too was alone while nursing her & it felt hell. I Thank God with my son it was a breeze but I think that was due experience & education. I'm sorry you had a hard 1st time but praying the next is amazingly easy :)

  • I have to agree, i breast fed my son for the first 9 months, once he stopped nursing and was on formular (and real food) he had his first cold, and was poorly, the first nine months of his life he wasnt ill once! now to me i would say that it has something to do with not having mothers milk anymore! my second son was only breast fed for 4 months (it just didnt work out for me :( ) and so he was fed formular, he is asmatic and has more colds and illnesses than my other son. i think theres a link

  • Definatly try breastfeeding again...i know alot more now.... But i wont do it to the detriment of my mental health. switching to formula was the best thing i ever did. Your video reports facts, yet i can honestly say alot of your facts were untrue for me personally when i was breastfeeding. Also your opinion sometimes comes accross that you think FF mums are 'lazy'. some are, but most are not.Thankyou for reading, and i hope you accept my opinions lol thanks.

  • Thankyou for responding. Firstly, even tho i am now a formula feeding mum, i am still 'proud' of myself for my achievements. I know you too have been through alot of issues with BF but you didnt suffer with PND. So you dont know what thats like. Thrush is extremly hard to treat when a baby wants to feed every 10 minutes. Yes its easier to go to a 'store for formula', this statment however is undermining the difficult decision mothers make when switching to formula.I am prego again and will.....

  • Hi, im just wondering...what do you say to the women who HAVE breastfed, and actually found formula to be better. I breastfed, and my child was so unsettled and kept having tummy aches (green poo). Kept getting thrush when feeding. Chocked all the time. Slept better on formula, i actually gained weight while BFing not lost, my confidence increased once switched to formula. What your saying isnt always true. I love formula! its been amazing for me! my child happy, healthy & never sick :)

  • @Mrslarawellerxx Breastfeeding isn't easy which is why several Mom find formula feeding to be "better" in their words. Green Poop & Choking are major signs of an milk imbalance. The other other time u get green poop is if the baby is sick. Otherwise it means the baby is getting too more foremilk & not enough hindmilk (I'm guessing u made a lot of milk) which also accounts for the choking...correcting this imbalance would have solved the poop, choking, tummy aches, & colic like signs.

  • @Mrslarawellerxx PART 2 REPLY: Thrush will continue to come back if you don't treat it properly, by treating materials & both of you, which is exactly what it sounds like if it "kept coming back". Formula is MUCH harder on a babies tummy so it takes them longer to digest than it does breastmilk so formula fed babies do tend to sleep longer but that isn't "better". The added weight while nursing is probably due to increase of breast size & added calories needed. U don't typically tend to loose...

  • @Mrslarawellerxx PART 3 REPLY: loose weight until months down the road when everything had been adjusted needless to say. You sound like you could have used a support group & a lactation consult to tell you what was going on. Breastfeeding isn't meant to be easy at first. That's why you find so many nursing mothers who are proud of their accomplishments. It's easy to go to a store & pick up a can of formula. I went through everything u did w/ my daughter as a first time Mom, it can be overwhelmi

  • @Mrslarawellerxx PART 4 REPLY: & can physically exhaust you & break you down. I lost so much sleep I literally ended up in the hospital hallucinating & seeing things, no joke! It was crazy scary. I also ran into every other breastfeeding issue known to man kind w/ my daughter. Hardest struggle of my life. So I understand about the confidence...but w/ my son, proper support, knowledge, & help it was a HUGE difference & it WAS easy 2nd time around.

  • @Mrslarawellerxx & THE LAST REPLY: I'm glad to hear your baby is healthy & happy & you're happy as well :) That is wonderful news!!!! Regardless of the parenting decisions one makes w/ in reason (baby isn't being harmed) we as mothers should respect others. Good Luck hun!

  • Hey Lucy, I just started watching your videos, Saw you through Candace. And I wanted to say this video is beautiful Im 21 and I don't have any children yet. But I have a nephew that was ff and he is 13 months and he has been sick his whole life. I really think it has something to do with his mom didn't BF.

I just wanted to say I respect you and when I read some of the comments the moms I had been watching treated you. I am so sorry :(

Loved the video and the rest of your videos :)

  • I've been watching a few of your older videos, Lucy, and I found this one. I really just wanted to say (without sounding....rude I suppose) that the photo at 4:35 is just beautiful. The sense of calmness in you comes through in the shot and the bonding just shines in this photo. I'm really glad I stumbled upon this video. I think when I have my children, I'll breastfeed. Let's hope I can get some beautiful shots like these one day. :) x

  • I always knew breastfeeding was good but i never knew all these facts. When i have kids, im going to make my wife breast. Thank you

  • The controversy surrounding every personal opinion and decision you youtube mother's make is more than a little ridiculous. I can see how you've offended people, maybe it's because you're so passionate about BF, but you really didn't need to compare FF and BF. The facts are out there and it is widely known why "breast is best" and I think the debate on both sides is unnecessary. Just seems like a lot of pride and bruised egos to me.

  • @Nikita7307 I agree, BUT in order to give the full picture you do honestly have to compare BF to FF. I've done both, I've breast, bottle & formula fed & I'm not the slightest bit offended by it, but that's b/c I know that I wasn't a bad mother for any of the choices I made. I've also propped a bottle once or twice, doesn't make me a bad person. I think some just take it too far as for feeling attacked. Feel secure in you are as a mother.

  • @xxxjoelpolexxx Well, I BF and I have had lots of debate with other mothers about why they would not BF if it is possible even for a little while. Eventually you end up realising how touchy this subject is for FF mothers. BF is hard in the beginning for some, it was for me, and I definitely did consider giving up. I didn't because I thought if I can I should but you know to each their own. Regardless my point was BF is great it doesn't need to be compared to anything to understand how great.

  • openly breast feeding in public without a cover is fucking wrong... it's uncomfortable to ppl around u and there's kids walking around!

i'd slap that woman in the face if she was doin dat shit in front of my kids.

  • @baezalejandro You are discussing!

  • @baezalejandro

    go live in Afghanistan

  • honestly I feel like too many people blew this WAY out of proportion! I was a formula feeding mom, my daughter could not breastfeed bc she had auite a bit of allergies and had to be on a special formula to keep it under control, NEVER was she propped with a bottle, always help while eating. BUT I have however seen mothers who play a child in a boppy or bouncy seat with a bottle propped up on a blanket and walk away. Do I wish I could have BF my baby, of course. But it isn't always an option.

  • breastfeeding mom rockzz!!!!!!.......

  • Nice video ..... Breastfeeding is the best for baby

  • Lucy, this is a beautiful video and the benefits of breastfeeding should be made more public, good on you for being so brave and sticking up for yourself ,it looks to me like the other mothers who are doing these horrible video responses should probably grow up and concentrate on raising there children in the best way they can, I feel so imbarrased for them, how childish, all that you have stated are well known facts. we love your vidoes and you are an amasing mother.

  • This video is excellent Lucy! The pic of you and kacen on the beach nursing is beautiful!

  • what is that carrier that you use in this video... the tan one...

lol that pic of you guys and the cat is priceless too :)

  • @MommaBeiler Ergo, if you go to our channel, just click on the banner at the top & it will bring u straight there :) I LOVE LOVE LOVE my carrier! OH & our cat is a big cuddler too lol

  • @holdendmb I bet you're a real buzzkill at parties. Party on dude.

  • Furthermore, you said that you dont eat very healthy while breastfeeding....arent you contradicting yourself here? You cant say that women who FF due to a 'lack of effort' why are you not making the effort? why dont you learn how to cook and proper food/nutrition, an important skill that could be passed to your kids...just curious.

  • @Mrslarawellerxx Again I don't eat as healthy as I could...do I have chocolate every once in a while, yes....do I eat pizza sometimes yes...This is what I mean. Do you enjoy cake or ice cream at times? Probably. Like I said I DO eat healthier than the average person. I am learning how to cook, it's not an overnight snap the finger type of situation. I have been learning, Thank you though! Now your no longer just curious.

  • Isnt food and nurtirion a VERY important part of a healthy life style, from baby to adult?.....Didnt you say that you dont know how to cook, and that you feed your baby jar food? Isnt organic, home made, free of additives food more 'natural' and healthy>? im just curious why you dont take the same approach with baby food as you do with breastfeeding? Isnt jar food 'second best? not making enough effort?,,,Surely Its no good breastfeeding if you are going to load your kids with crap afterwards.

  • @Mrslarawellerxx My son eats table food, however they do make organic jar food! I can cook but not many dishes, I'm still learning. I eat healthy, I just don't eat as healthy as I could. Do you eat as healthy as you could? No...No one does. Do I eat healthier than the average person, yep, I surely do. You may try to pick apart words but you failed.

  • Nice video. I would like to breasfeed for a year at least. Good job!

  • beautiful lucy..... simply beautiful....

  • I think that a woman has every right to do what ever she wants with HER body. However, I am a woman and I do not plan to have kids. But even if I did have a baby, I can not imagine actually wanting to have a kid hanging off of my boobs every two hours. I know that it is "natural," but it just looks so annoying, exhausting and tedious. This is just my opinion, but again, I believe that every woman should do what makes her happy and feels best for her.

  • Can you please do a video for first time breastfeeding moms: proper latch, position and general tips. It would greatly help. I am planning on breastfeeding full time but really don't know the proper way to breastfeed. Another question what if your milk does not come in right away, do you have to supplement with formula to keep your baby healthy?

  • @dghrybkf You don't have to supplement, ur milk is supply by demand, so if you supplement and you're not nursing then you will not make what your baby needs & you'll come up short on ur supply. It's supply by demand, very important to remember that.

  • ok so im on a medication where i cant BF becuz the med will go threw in the breast milk, i know i havent done anything wrong to feel guilty about but it does feel like a small attack when i watch this video. i mean BF is natural and there is alot of positive things about it but i believe there is also good things about formula too, and because its not natural its not any good? i know this is what u believe to be the best for ur child but i can see where this can be offensive to others.

  • I also came across videos against you and had to search for "this" video and let me tell you......it's beautiful! I love it! Yeah some things might come off harsh to formula feeding moms but you know what.....it's the truth and sometimes the truth hurts. I FF my first 2 kids and I'm so glad I decided to nurse my 3rd and we're almost at 13 months, this video makes me prouder about my choice to BF him.

  • @malona23 Thanks! My daughter was part formula fed towards the end and I don't take offense to it, and I honestly don't understand how a mother could take offense to it if she was NOT guilty? I can't seem to wrap my mind around it, and no one has been able to explain that either. HOWEVER there were no intentions what so ever to scare someone into BFing/Hurting a FF Mother's feelings/Attacking anyone/or putting any group of Mothers on a pedestal above others. Anyone can twist words...

  • @xxxjoelpolexxx

good thing youtube let me finish that thought.... haha... basically it was really hard at the beginning, i needed to use a nipple shield for 6 weeks, i was in tears for an hour or so at the hospital so frustrated. but with my dedication and determination i kept it up and i'm so glad i did. i'm not sure if you've made any videos about how it's NOT an easy thing for some people, it takes a lot of effort & dedication for some... either way i love the videos =) keep them up!

  • I read all the comments now - World BF Week commemorates the Innocenti Declaration made by WHO & UNICEF in Aug 1990 to protect, promote & support bf. You can't possibly promote BF w/o talking about WHY it's better. It IS better for the baby/child 99% of the time. I KNOW moms often feel guilt when they FF & sadly most that do are ones who tried to BF. I've lost 7 babies & seeing pg women used to kill me. It wasn't their fault though. Sometimes we just need to heal & quit focusing outward.

  • it not help me because I'm only looking for boobs

  • I'm flabbergasted that this has caused "drama"! I found a response video (plenty of them) & had to search to find you to find out why & now I am more confused. This is a beautiful video with a very positive message on breastfeeding that states not one single thing that isn't listed on a ton of medical sites if people do their research. It's not like you made it up. Good for you for putting it out there & normalizing what is NORMAL. I'm nursing my 6 mo old & my 3 1/2 yr old just weaned. :)

  • @joelxb What an inspiration ( 3 1/2 yr old)!!! Someone commented below "what if you turn out to be one of them Moms who nurse a 2 yr old" GASP, you did a 3 1/2 yr old. Some people are just ignorant. I know plenty of Moms who have nursed their 4 yr old but are afraid to say anything b/c people are so darn ignorant on the issue. Good for you for being honest & opening, hopefully you'll give someone else the courage to be proud as well :)

  • beautiful music

  • who cares if you breast feed or not. as long as your child is healthy and happy and getting fed?! At your age i think you should just get a grip and stop broadcasting your entire life over the internet, maybe you wouldnt get such abusive comments in the future?!

  • I don't find this video offensive in the least. I'm going to breastfeed when my child is born and if I run into trouble I will get help. I have not been lugging around these boobs for decades for nothing, might as well do something useful with them.

If possible, I plan on following WHOs recommendation for BF the kid for two years, as well.

  • @NerdyCanadian Lol I agree! God gave us breast for a reason.

  • Wow. Some of you are down right crazy and judgmental. Lucy, let me say, I think you are fantastic. I think it is wonderful you are showing positive breastfeeding. I think this is a fantastic video. Good for you. I am still nursing my 2 1/2 year old. And to be able to see someone who is so confident and breastfeeding is inspiring to me. Its because of you I am planning my home birth.

"Those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind."

  • @rere0405 h what wonderful news, I hope you home birth turns out amazing!!! It's one decision I will NEVER regret! Pick an amazing MW and most of all follow your instinct.

  • Breastfeeding is a human and civil right. And it is personal , so nobody needs to be telling others what to do. Studies have shown it does not make that much difference over time. What is the point of breastfeeding then plying your kid full of sugar, and junk food for 18 yrs, and letting them become full of tattoos and drugs and become fat or do poorly in school. Breastfeeding issues are for people with not enough to do in life. focus on what matters.

  • 'decreased confidence to feed her baby'..'breastmilk comes in a nicer package' 'BF babies have nicer diaper changes' you call these FACTS!? ...lol..more opinions. I am a pro-breastfeeding mum, who breastfed my son the first few months, so dont use the 'you feel guilty card', i just have a differnt opinion to you. Its not the benefits/facts of BF that have offened people (and not just FF mums) its YOU. You are up your own ass and trying to put mums down.

  • @aprilbolla Great so ur a nurse...what's ur point? I know Dr's who are idiots, BIG IDIOTS. Anyone can get a degree or certificate. So u CLAIMING to be a pedi nurse means nothing, gives no meaning to what you say. Facts ARE Facts.

  • @xxxjoelpolexxx Sorry for butting in. I feel the need to step in briefly to defend nurses, as I'm in nursing school. It's definitely true that there LOTS of stupid doctors, nurses, midwives, you name it. Training has shown me just how little you can trust some people who are responsible for vulnerable patients. Regardless, I don't think just anyone can get a cert or a degree; certainly not from a credible institution. The process to become an RN is really arduous physically and intellectually.

  • @LadyMoonMelody I'm just referring to when Joel & I went to nursing school.....I saw more idiots than I could ever believe. & It wasn't just "idiots" I mean NO COMMON SENSE what so ever! I had a nurse at Baylor that didn't know her left from right! My point being is anyone can claim to be something over the internet, & it doesn't take genius to become nurse....w/ that said all nurses obviously aren't like that...just like u said there are stupid people in every profession.

  • @xxxjoelpolexxx There's a really scary amount of stupid girls in my training cohort. Like, girls who don't know their arses from a hole in the ground. They'll probably end up leaving the course (thank God), as the one I go to is known for being the most challenging in the UK.

  • @xxxjoelpolexxx Sorry for butting in. I feel the need to step in briefly to defend nurses, as I'm in nursing school. • @LadyMoonMelody cont: Someone claiming to be part of a particular profession doesn't give them any more creditability than any tom dick & hairy....know what I mean?

  • @xxxjoelpolexxx For sure. Someone's claim doesn't mean anything, so you can never know. But someone who actually is a nurse, doctor, midwife, has gone through rigorous on-the-job training and met serious study demands (Gross Anatomy, Biomolecular Science, Medical Ethics, etc), which makes them more knowledgeable about how health and the human body works. Even so, no one knows what's better for a child emotionally and mentally than that child's loving mother.

  • Studies do show that breastfeeding is best for the baby so ignore the stupid comments.

  • @HappyYoungMama Thanks

  • The breast is best!

  • @spicysnoopy Yep

  • @holdendmb Hopefully in the future you dont make such perverse assumptions....gross!

  • @holdendmb "hooter hider" is the name of the shield featured in the video, Thank You though....Nipple/Areola are part of the breast, the baby latches on the nipple to get milk, so yes I'm trying to attract a person interested in nursing their child. Anything wrong w/ that? They can use a hooter hider, bebe au lait, nursing shield to be discrete or they can bare their naked breast proudly if a shield isnt there preference or choice. Thats where the tags stem from.

  • @xxxjoelpolexxx so whats your excuse for using the tag "milf" on your other videos? yeah, thats what I thought...this prob wont be approved huh?

  • @Linz916 I'm not sure what video you referring to as it's not on this one, so why don't you specify instead? Milk, and my tags are usually copied & pasted from one video to the next if they are in relation to each other. Saves time in having to type them out every single time. Any other questions? Oh & hun, no excuse needed, it's called honesty :) ....& that's what I know.

  • Oh my! Such a beautiful video:) My son is almost 6 months and still EFB. I love how all your pictures look so natural. I love the one where you're nursing in the water. I don't know why people are responding so negatively, in my opinion you're just stating facts? Oh well. You seem like an awesome mommy. Keep up the amazing work.

  • @cocoSamm Thank You

  • Love the Video I was wondering. My daughter is 12 months now and Im still waking up in the middle of the night with her but she doesnt really eat she almost uses me as a pacifier. Do you still wake up in the middle of the night? And if you don't how did you get your son to sleep all the way threw?

  • @mayasa87 Yes, usually once or twice a night now at 14 months old.

  • @mayasa87 &&& our daughter who wasn't on the breast or the bottle took 2 years before she slept through the night, she didn't use a pacifier either...used her thumb and still didn't sleep through the night till 2.

  • I think the whole formula and breast feeding issue is out of control! Raising a child involves so much more that this issue is minor. No wonder so many women are now experiencing more depression . Too much pressure and guilt . A happy mother equals a happy baby! I am sending my support to all mothers all over our world regardless of how you are feeding ! We all do what is best for our family.

  • @geel1228 I completely agree!! BF vs FF debate is just the start-- then it is vaccinate/ don't vaccinate, stay at home/ go back to work, homeschool/ public or private school. The judgemental attitudes about the way we choose to raise our children goes on and on! However, I can safely say that all agree we are all smart, intelligent Mom's who can do our own research and then decide on what's best for our family. Let's just give each other a break, ok?

  • @geel1228DO you realize that formula companies are BILLION$ companies? $ if more women BF. It's a BUSINESS & they work very hard to keep their #'s like all industries & too many buy their lies. BF may be minor to you, but google "AAP journal death formula feeding" & read the first AAP journal link, it states 720 US babies die each yr from FF. I'm betting it isn't minor for those babies & mommas.

  • @geel1228 Also - google "reuters US billions breastfeeding" read the 1st link from Sept 13 by reuters. It costs approx 3.6 BILLION$ in healthcare for so many babies to be FF or not be BF long enough. BF'ers like me have NO AGENDA other than to educate. I make NO $ if you BF/FF. Ask yourself if those selling it can say the same thing? Ask yourself WHY Dr's have free samples & what they get for distributing or recommending a brand? Watch "formula for disaster" on you tube.

  • @joelxb As stated my comments are to send support to Mum's regardless of their choice of feeding. We have to be mindful and remember to respect others for their choices. Weather that be Breastfeeding till 4years or turning to formula. We are all different and Mum's have reasons for their choices and we should not judge them for that. Parenting in general is hard work and support makes it easier.

  • @geel1228 this is a best comment, I 100% agree !!!!!

  • Hi Lucy. Did you get my message? I was just reading your comments below....don't you think it's possible to spread awareness about the benefits of breastfeeding without shedding such a negative light on formula feeding?

  • @lizzykoehler1 You could, but it wouldn't be a true message, it'd be a white lie.

  • @xxxjoelpolexxx I believe that breast is best as well. My concern is the unnecessary cycle of "mommy guilt" we iimpose on one another. For example, I am passionate about cooking healthy meals at home. Does that mean I have to spread my message by stating how unhealthy it is to go out to eat? No, I could simply say that families who eat freshly cooked meals around a table at home have less health issues and their children are prone to make better choices in social situations. See what I mean?

  • @lizzykoehler1 You could spread your message, I don't think it's a bad idea. I don't cook, I eat a LOT, way to much, and it's probably very very unhealthy. I was never taught how to cook. Although now that I don't it's no ones fault buy my own, you wouldn't make me feel guilty....you might give me some info that I didn't know, you might even encourage me to do it. I know Jeni did... One shouldn't feel guilty for it.

  • @xxxjoelpolexxx so it's still okay for you to breastfeed your son even though you eat unhealthy food. That can't be good for him either.

  • @MADTOWNCHICKYPOO It was an example, it's no where near what the healthiest foods are out there. I eat loads of pasta, broccoli, cheese, chocolate. It all could be homemade from scratch, but its not, that is what I'm saying.

  • @xxxjoelpolexxx

So you really believe formula is that awful to give to babies?? how do you think that makes FF mums feel...the ones who CANT breastfeed for medical reasons? I believe BF is better, but i dont agree that formula is the devil. Its a bit OTT...more babies have been saved from formula that killed from it. In fact i dont know one baby that has died from it but thousands that drink it and are happy/healthy.

  • @Mrslarawellerxx I never said FF was the devil. Oh quite a few died from formula just a few years ago, it was all recalled, don't you remember?

  • @xxxjoelpolexxx Not really no, because it is actually quite rare.however quite a few more children died from underlying illnesses, genetic disorders and forms of neglect/abuse.you are a contradiction, you say you support FF mums (who CANT bf)...but you clearly dont. And by the way, FF mums arent offended because they feel guilty (as you put it), we are offended because we are good mums, and you are trying to put us down. and its wrong! ('just prop a bottle') how rude! you know what your doing.

  • @Mrslarawellerxx Agagin sounds like guilt. My daughter was FF & I have no guilt & I don't take offense to any of it bc I KNOW I'm a good Mom. I have even done some of the things said in the video & I still don't feel bad. I didn't do them bc I was bad, I didn't know better, & I do know. Still don't feel guilty.

  • @xxxjoelpolexxx so everyone who felt hurt/slightly offended by your coments all feel guilty. Nice excuse. your not excepting responsibility at all. And by the way i dont feel guilty, yes i would have liked breastfeeding to have worked for me but it didnt. The reason some people are offended is because some of the things you say arent true. and are a dig at formula feeding mums, its not on. This is the last time i waste my time writing to you.

  • @Mrslarawellerxx Whats not true?????

  • @Mrslarawellerxx My point is breastmilk is never recalled, breast is better, its not a debate. It's healthy to run, but what about people that can't? You don't hear them taking offense to that do you?

  • @Mrslarawellerxx What about all the children in Africa that died from using formula? those mothers should have been told to breast feed however you have huge formula companies going into under developed countries that don't have clean drinking water and glamorizing formula. BF should be the norm however it isn't due to society and that should change. Our children should be given the best start and the breast is it. unless there is a medical reason i think all mums should at least TRY BF.

  • @MangoMommyXoXo There was a documentary on this in Mexico, at least I think that was the location? Its illegal to advertise formula yet its the ONLY thing they advertise & no one upholds the law.....these kids were ALL sick!!!!!!

  • @xxxjoelpolexxx There are other places in the world where it is illegally too, however the formula companies bribe the nurses and doctors with money, trips, samples, all kinds of things. In the states now there are some hospitals that are becoming "Baby Friendly" I think that is what the program is called. but in these hospitals they only promote breast feeding and don't even have posters or advertisements for formula and the free gifts no longer include formula samples. something is changing

  • @MangoMommyXoXo Yep, I know, it's the same things they did on the documentary I watched. I've seen a baby friendly hospital where the LC didn't show up and passed out a formula sample instead (visiting a family member) I was flabbergasted!

  • Comment removed

  • @jenschannel Being born 3 months early doesn't mean you have to be formula fed, so I'm not sure why that was even mentioned? Breast Milk is almost always better than Formula that's not a debate. I was formula fed too, what does that have to do with it? Again it's not a debate.

  • i just can't believe that this amazing video got sooo many rude comments.

i was able to breatfeed my son for only two months, due to some medical conditions i had to stop and switch to formula :(. so, for 10 months we strugled with formula milk, he never liked it :(. but he loooved my milk and i still feel guilty for not taking care of myself enough, in order to be able to BF him longer.

it'll be better with my next one, i'll make sure of that ;).

thumbs up Lucy, we're with you 2

    kisses

  • @cookieshor Thank You & Good Luck :)

  • beautifully done!

  • @eabdeb8176 Thank You

  • Hi there, I love watching your videos. I have a Baby Boy who is 4 months old and for a number of reasons is formula fed. We are hoping to try for baby No 2 soon and I am desperate to breastfeed this time. Can I ask you if you found it at all difficult breastfeeding and having a toddler to look after at the sametime?

  • @carrielovesjohn Yes, it was easier breastfeeding the 2nd time around, but it was frustrating trying to divide my attention while nursing during the first few months. It took a LOT of help from my husband. It got easier as they got older...not to mention babies nap often so we got lots of one on one time just nto for long periods

  • Hi I have to say I am disappointed that the breastfeeding and bottlefeeding choice for mothers has to come to this. It is not worth it ! We all do what is best for our children regardless and considering the horrific things that happen daily around the world this topic is minor. Lets just be happy to have our beautiful babies to love and cherish and spend time doing just that ! Bottle breast ? as long as they are loved and nurtured that is most important. Sending my support to ALL mums!

  • . It’s not FF mothers guilt that angers them its feeling like they are being attacked because of there choice to FF. Breastfeeding is great but it is not always the best choice for a child because every child is different and only the mother/father knows what’s best

  • Lucy I have been watching your videos for a long time now and I really love them and respect you however when I did watch this video I though it was beautiful you did a video to support breastfeeding mothers until I started reading some of the “facts” you put in the video. I know you say they are facts and it is not meant to hurt anyone but it did hurt a ton of people myself included. You say you would never put down a FF mother but you clearly have put down a ton of FF mothers.

  • I have a question about brest feeding this is sorta not on this topic but oh well i was just thinking about it for my next baby lol... So they say nurse on demand Right? so if your newborn is still sleeping after like 5 hours should you wake them up to feed them or wait till they wake up? Or to EBF babies wake up naturally earlier than that. thank you

  • @w104rwf Yes you are supposed to nurse on demand, not to mention if the baby is crying you've waited to late, one should pick up on hunger signs before a babies cry (it makes it easier on the baby & you to nurse if done so). With that said the first weeks of a newborns life yes you NEED MUST HAVE to wake them ever 3/4 hrs never ever longer than 4 hours should a newborn sleep w/ out nursing. Babies do not have their "flight or fight" response and will sleep straight through hunger.

  • I dont no why there is so many negative comments on this video, Your only speeking the truth!

IF THE TITLE OFFENDS SOME PEOPLE DONT WATCH THE VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love this video and am 100000000000000000000000000% with breastfeeding, And i dont even have any babies!

  • Just to claify you didn't make me feel bad about not being able to BF. I did what was best for my son when I was not producing but maybe near a oz every pump or when trying to get him to the breast. I know I did what was right for my son, who by the way is a HEALTHY 15 month old

  • @kimlcross It's not about making one feel bad. There are plenty of Moms like my self that have FF/Bottle Fed that don't take offense to it. It's about education. It's about awareness. It's about letting someone know what they might not know. Had I known that giving a baby a bottle once a blue moon would cause nipple confusion and low supply I might not have done it, or if I had to, I would have done it different at least to maintain my supply. It doesn't make me or anyone else bad.

  • facts. Just remember there are some reasons why a mother can not BF. Please keep that in mind when you make videos like this.

  • were trying to make a point in your decriptions box to I guess people who you didn't like there comments or opinions back to you. But maybe instead of putting there name in your box, maybe it should just be keep as anonymous. That is how a lot of this drama gets start Lucy. And its like you can't take someone elses thought. And how do you know that your video (not saying anything bad about it) doesn't make some mothers feel bad because of some of the FF facts that are supposbily quotes or

  • @kimlcross As for their name you're referring to Jen & Sonia? They never commented on this video, not on here at least, b/c they are blocked and have been. I'm sick & tired of hearing those two bash me on YT when they come to ME for help. If I'm so wrong, evil, and don't know my information then why do they come to me?

  • @xxxjoelpolexxx Besides Jen's last video, when has she bashed you on youtube? I have watched her videos since she was TTCing and I have never heard her bash you. I think she even said in her who do you watch video that she watched and respected you

  • @MADTOWNCHICKYPOO She does & has very publicly. She's joined a FB hate group, made absurd accusations & rude comments on other's profile comment sections, peoples videos, etc.

  • @xxxjoelpolexxx I am sorry you two can't just get along because you are both great youtube resources to other mothers. I think you both have things to add to this community. I haven't seen any rude comments she made about you but then again I am not on facebook. I just think you should be the bigger person and just leave her name out of your description. Let her look like the bad person... just saying

  • @MADTOWNCHICKYPOO FOr starters she left several rude comments on Jeni's BF video about me

  • @xxxjoelpolexxx I just went and read EVERYTHING she posted on Jeni's video and there were no rude comments on there... she just disagreed with you. Correct me if I am wrong

  • @xxxjoelpolexxx How do you know about what she says on other people's videos... how do you find that out?

  • @MADTOWNCHICKYPOO Because viewers like you bring it to my attention. Then I go look and there's for any public eye to see.

  • @xxxjoelpolexxx Got it... I just don't think Jen is two faced like that... I don't agree with her but I don't think she is two faced... we all know breast is best and I think it's really junky that she is promoting formula in the manner that she is. I mean she has a lot of viewers that take her word as gospel. I just think she disagrees with you... I don't see her being mean to you

  • @kimlcross As for knowing if it makes a mother feel bad, I don't know other than what one tells me. I know breastfeeding inside & out for the most part, I've been on every side of the fence.....It shouldn't make someone feel bad. Point blank.

  • @xxxjoelpolexxx I am not going against what you do. I support BF mothers. But when I tried to BF my son and was not producing a enough milk it was not because of bad nutrition, pacifiers, suppliment or anything of that., I tried everything. I could not produce enough. I even tried pumping in between trying to feed and it did not help. Maybe you just need to take a step back and realize other people do have opinions as well. It is a mothers choice to BF or FF. I support either. I understand you

  • @kimlcross It's not a matter of opinions though, it's awareness. It's not about someones choice to BF or FF, it's knowing the effects of the choices & being okay w/ that. Someone might have FF because they didn't want saggy boobs (I've heard this A LOT) well BF doesn't cause that, pregnancy does. They might had made a different choice. If postpartum depression runs in their family they might have made the choice to nurse in better odds for their self. If not, then it doesn't matter they should

  • @kimlcross PART 2 be comfortable w/ their own decision. It's not knocking a choice, it's again awareness and make sure others knows all the cause/effects, and them being comfortable w/ their decision. The facts don't change though, and the don't exist to make one feel bad, they exist for awareness.

  • if you truely feel that there is nothing wrong with what you have done here then you would approve ALL comments...not just the ones that make you come out smelling like a rose :)

  • @Linz916 Perhaps you just prefer to not read comments or your incapable of it and just want to complain on something you clearly have no grounds, all comments that came through are approved...you might want to considering reading them first, not all are "smelling like a rose" when your done I expect my apology.

  • @xxxjoelpolexxx there is def someone here who owes ALOT of people and apology and we both know that person is NOT me. Just something else to ponder...if I was incapable of reading I would also be incapable is writing and the previous comments I have sent you reguarding this video ARE NOT here....hmmm.

  • @xxxjoelpolexxx you havent approved some of my comments so that bull.

  • Please don't let the haters get to you. I think this video is beautiful and well done.

  • @TheVeganMommy thank you

  • other Youtubers when you put there personal name and child name in your description bar. Maybe they don't want there name publicly made at least the child s name for protection reasons. I know I would not.

  • @kimlcross What childs name? There is no point on this comment as it doesnt apply to this situation.

  • you are trying to push your views on others. (that is just how I am seeing it)

I tried to BF my son but didn't produce near enough milk to satisfy him. And he was not latch on to the nipple. So I had no choice but to FF. And my son is a healthy 15 month old. I am not saying anything bad about you or what you do, but maybe some people are just seeing it the way I do. FF babies get just as much attention as BF babies, unless the parent is neglecting them.

Just one other thing maybe it upsets

  • @kimlcross Most don't "produce enough" due to pacifiers, supplementing, not nursing on demand, using bottles, interrupted feedings, lack of Mothers nutrition, etc The parent isn't "neglecting them" they just dont have to be in their arms when getting a drink like BF babies.
