I don't feel that it is an Apples and Oranges comparison. Yes, I am aware that Africans sold their own people into slavery, but let's not forget who sought out human slaves. No matter what the race, anyone who took part in slavery or any or forced human labor was/is wrong. I do believe people see different things when looking at a plantation. Some see a simply a beautiful building while other see both a well structured building and the history that comes with it. The video I appreciate.
@VASINGER I found the video interesting, but your comment is one that tries to down play American slavery for what it really was. Of course others probably help build lots of building in American, but the slaves were force to labor or be punished. Slavery and its severity is not to be sugarcoated. It should be acknowledged in full detail just as the all the Nazi Germans did to the Jews was acknowledged.
@banktwolg Nazi GermanY??? That is an Apples and Oranges comparison. That is ridiculous. Africans sold their own into slavery, lets not forget that. And there were many poor whites that worked very hard to make this nation wonderful as it was, as did many former African slaves.
@banktwolg Slavery was not right, but its a myth that slaves were beaten and whipped all the time for labor. Many were not treated that way. . Even more nicely than many who were poor white labor. Im not downplaying anything. Slavery was not right, but it was not all horror stories that people perpetuate it to be. It was somewhere in the middle. If you were a house servant, you were considered family.

The credit goes to all the slaves who were forced to build the entire plantation.not to the owner.

@zuniga6412 The mansion was most likely built by Scottish workmen, not necessarily slaves.

@VASINGER Maybe both.
