  • Alrighty, I'll have more to comment on the other video... but I shall rest a bit for now, as I've been writing these comments out all day, and would like to pick back up later when fresh and can be more articulate that way. :] So, I shall talk to you soon! *HUGS AGAIN*

  • *HUGS* Thank you so much, Mel, for this truly spectacular birthday film, which I really cannot say enough good things about. Please, do know though, that it has a very, VERY special place in my heart. :]

  • And what do you MEAN this is not meant to be used to teach actual American History?!! From what I've been reading in this Meriwether Lewis biography, everything in this film is 100% accurate! Just like the time Lewis saved the entire galaxy from a crazy bat man by doing away with an evil pebble... but they don't teach that is schools EITHER. Pfft. What is this educational system coming to...? Sigh.

  • Teehee, close-up of rocks to depict mountains!! 'Cause that's how extremely low-budget filmmakers like you and I roll, darnit! And why is it that you have such a cool Tricorne hat? Trying to make me all envious, huh?! WELL.... FINE. it's working. :P

  • OMG. And MY SPECIAL BIRTHDAY VIDEO is the one in which you've introduced the new end logo?!?! I AM HONORED. :] Hehe, yes, I did actually think that was just the coolest. Indeed you thought the logo up months ago, but still, this was like it's official premier. Which basically means, LOGO AND I SHARE SAME BIRTHDAY. FTW!! :D

  • Lol, and I totally attempted best I could to read everything on that e-bay page! Only 12% positive feedback for N_BonApRt00001, JEEZ, and I thought anyone with 92% was bad enough... Hehe, Jefferson would TOTALLY refer to himself as "Prez Jay", 'cause liek, after all, he's a total hipster 'n' stuff. <- wut?

  • The overly enthusiastic narrator, the highly inaccurate depictions and the spot-on Jerry one, Lewis & Lewis, the plethora of references and man-eating corn husk... just... just EVERYTHING about this is friggin hysterical. Dawww, and I even got happy birthday sung to me by the one and only Jerry Lewis!! Oh, em, gee!! :D

  • Lol, at first I didn't catch at the end, the "Happy Birthday Jorgé" being the TRAIL (lack of sleep does that to a person), but then, because I had to watch it over and over again, the second time I managed to catch it, and then proceeded to freak out over the new discovery of it being the path, which was really very clever of you to think up! :]

  • Literally, I was in awe and smiling so big throughout the entire video, it hurt! When showing this to my mom and dad, they too thought it was absolutely magnificent and were cracking up with laughter.

  • Your videos are always magnificent, Mel, that's without a doubt. But to think, you went above and beyond to create this extraordinary movie just for me on my birthday... I cannot begin to express how SPECIAL that makes me feel. Hehe, I'll try and save all the SUPER sappy stuff for when commenting on the serious video. :]

  • To start off, I'm completely flabbergasted, Mel, truly I am. Knowing how preoccupied you've been with other projects, the Holidays, and life in general, yet the fact you were able to go and put so much thought and hard work into making this, even spending time researching the expedition... It's breathtaking and very, very heart-touching.

  • Lol, now that I've gotten that all out of the way. Time to go into a big ol' ramble about THIS video itself! :D

  • (Oh, never mind, they seem to be working again.)

  • (I may have just broke the yt comments...)

  • Which means, Mel, that YOU saved my birthday from being completely awful! :D Not even joking. The cake, getting to open presents... it would have felt forced considering the dreary, unsettling mood I was in. So yes, thank you VERY, VERY MUCH for coming to the rescue at such a pivotal moment, which changed my whole outlook around! SUPER BIG HUGS!!

  • I didn't HAVE to try and push them to the back-burner of my mind, because being so extremely giddy, that overwhelmed any effect they once had on me. I mean, yeah, it's not like the events from earlier would just magically, completely wipe from my memory... But being carried away to such a comforting, happy place, THAT is where I stayed, so in a sense, they really were forgotten.

  • --Honestly, all of my built up worries throughout the day, the stress, the panic, IT MELTED AWAY. The sheer excitement of seeing you had made me a video... the happiness THAT brought overcame all the negativism. Finally, it really FELT like my birthday. I was filled with such happiness, that all the problems of the day suddenly seemed insignificant...

  • --I filed for misidentification immediately, which is STILL in the "Status: submitted" stage. Lol, it still unsettles me every time when going to the videos page and seeing the "matched third party content". But have to remind myself, I am NOT in the wrong here. ANYHOO. What I'm getting to is THIS. Within, literally, MOMENTS of my day being completely ruined by this notification and trying to resolve it... in just MOMENTS, YOUR video popped up.--

  • --I wanted to just crawl in a hole. Making this tribute was suppose to be a GOOD thing, so why was I being punished? It was so horribly stressful. It was a joke to think I could actually enjoy my birthday now. No, there was no way. I could try and leave this out of my mind, walk away from the computer and pretend to be fine. But that wouldn't stop the fact it was eating me up inside. This birthday was going to be a miserable one, until I'd be able to resolve this unsettling problem.--

  • Well, I wake up to find a message in my inbox, saying that there is a copyright notification on the video. That was it. My heart completely sunk, and it was a huge punch to the stomach. Even though they are leaving it up, not disabling the audio or anything... it's just the point that there IS a copyright notification hanging over the video. OMG.WHY.WHY ME. The radio programs are IN public domain. There shouldn't even BE a copyright claim on them.--

  • My mom made me a birthday breakfast, which was extremely needed considering I had not eaten the day before thanks to being so preoccupied with trying to finish the video on time. So, food made me feel not AS lethargic, and was able to stay up for a couple hours, attempting to enjoy my birthday, but finally gave in and took a nap. The video had been uploading for a few hours already, so I had hoped by the time of being done with the nap, it would be finished.--

  • --I would have loved to go back and fix that, but it would require going in re-arranging and taking out 20 seconds of the audio as well... then hours to save everything to my computer once again. UGH. It was completely exhausting. I wanted to enjoy my birthday, but being so completely out-of-it, just getting through the day seemed a miserable task.

  • So, my birthday had not started in the best of ways. Being up ALL night trying to save the tribute video to my computer, only to find on each attempt there had been something apparently wrong with the video. Getting about an hours sleep. Then being completely devastated to learn this whole time it was not the editing program but my OWN fault for why there was a 20 second gap of darkness...--

  • Alright. Prepare for a million comments on this video from me... starting now!

  • As an Australian I can only assume this is an accurate and complete recreation of American history. And now I know corn is a ruthless preditor. Thank you Melanie for educating me :)

  • I love the video, I laughed so hard I almost fell out of my chair!
