  • BAD ASS!

  • Is it first sampling of ABBA's song.? :)

  • @wawa96loveabba the first totally legal one, i would guess. i know only of one other example - "hung up" by madonna

  • Qtip is dope as fuck

  • Great The Name Of The Game.!

  • I really liked the way they used the ABBA sample in this track, Did Jay Dee make this?

  • @MrEuphonious Sounds very DIlla inspired, but it was in fact produced by Wyclef and Lauryn.

  • classicccccc

  • uff..the best...

  • i'm out.

  • You cant put Tyson and Ali in the same. These were 2 different era's of boxing. The trainning was alot different back then then it is now and the corner men are better the cut men are better the fighter of today are just better then the fighter of old cause advacements in medical science and trainning are far more advanced then they are now. But if you take both fighter's in thier prime and they went at it if tyson couldnt knock out Ali by the 3rd then Ali would just pick him apart no question

  • @jaykruse Foreman hit harder than Tyson, Shavers hit harder than Foreman, Ali beat Foreman and Shavers...No contest for Ali, no knockdown , no nothin', a simple win, Tyson said it himself.

  • @SpecialAirService141 I would agree that Foreman has the ability the throw a stronger punch but he lacks technique that Tyson had so i would give the advantage to Tyson. As far as Ali goes he is the best but weathering a early 90's Tyson flurry would be one tough pill to swollow

  • @jaykruse Are you kidding? Foreman beat Frazier Norton who had better technique that Tyson, Liston also,

the only thing that Tyson had over them was body power, Tyson was a f'n juggernaut, but he couldn't go 7-8 rounds with Ali.

  • @SpecialAirService141 Yes Foreman did beat Frazier but in that same arguement you can say that Frazier beat Ali who beat Foreman right??? Noboday can say who would honestly win nowadays but as far as punching power goes il put my money on Tyson no doubt.

  • Are you serious? This isn't on iTunes? Whyyyyyy? GRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!! I need this on my iPod, damn it!

At 0:07..."I'm so mean I make medicine sick!" LMAO!!!! Ali was a trip!

And the person who disliked this video is a LOSERRRRRRRRR! lol

  • yeahh thiss its beat love it :))))))) vienna and poland YO

  • Lauryn Hill. A powerful vocalist

  • Beautiful Song to one of the greatest fights in the history.

The Question of Ali vs Thyson: Thyson would physically win but Ali would destroy him mentally before the fight because Thyson wasnt metally tuff. But two different times and standarts of training, so for me the question is who was the better boxer and who was the greater man and here the answer is clear ...

  • @SirFatman100 im a Tyson fan til i die, even though he will never be the same fighter he was when he was younger if he were to ever return....but Tyson wouldn't have been able to beat my ultimate favorite fighter..Ali! Ali talked the talk and walked the walk.. he told you before the fight how he was gonna beat you and he did it everytime....Tyson may have knocked him down in the 1st round or so, but after the 2nd round, Tyson isn't the same type of fighter....he never trained for endurance

  • I actually like this. And I don't usually listen to rap and hip hop. But this is good.

  • mike tyson was a fighter he would take a punch and dish em out too.. but ali rarely got punched he was too fast so i reckon ali would win

  • is that even a question of course tyson wud win...people like ali cuz his personality thats all....mike is from brooklyn of course he'll win... dick

  • @bigdud12345 Being from Brooklyn has nothing to do with it...furthermore, if Tyson doesn't knock someone out in the first 2 rounds......he's done! Ali is an endurance fighter, he trained to go 12 rounds with you and beat you up the whole 12, Tyson is trained to knock you out in the first few seconds and if that don't work, he doesn't know what to do....and this is from a diehard Tyson fan since i was a kid...the truth is the truth, and Being a Brooklynite means absolutely nada

  • That wasn't the essence of the statement...rather it was to emphasize what can be considered an impossible feat for a negro to return home at will.

And if you remember, the match between foreman and Ali was an all black sponsored event.

Granted the government of Zaire was that of a totalitarian, the fact still remains that an unintended and frankly unexpected unification occurred with the relocation of the match to Africa period!!!

    Stay blessed and informed!!!

  • the pulsing base line is indeed from ABBA's The Name of the Game' unusual combination but it works. The Fugees are one of only 2 acts that have been allowed to sample ABBA,, the other of course being Madonna on Hung Up.

  • @gavee1 . I'm sure Polar Music was paid a handsome fee for those samples. ABBA's music is timeless

  • What a great Show, or?

  • Root to the fruit

    More bass than Bootsy Collins

    You verses me

Thats like Ali verses Foreman (a-ha)

one of my fav songs of all time

  • tyson had more skill

  • @bigdud12345 tyson beat no one of note....and he didn't have more skill. Tyson was outboxed by medicore talent.

  • I reckon Tyson would have won because at his peak he was the most powerful boxer i have ever seen, without doubt Ali had more stamina and skill but i think Tyson would have knocked him out before that became a factor.... having said that Ali is the greatest for his overall importance. Incidentally that is a sick baseline.... didn't know it was Abba! you wouldnt expect that!!

  • my opinion tyson best in history but then ali just behind him its a close cool to be honest.

  • tyson wudve hav beat his ass

  • I used to think Tyson would win too. But when I studied Ali and Tyson's fights. Ali would kill him. Because Ali is the type of fighter that would use the ring to his advantage, dance around Tyson. Tyson would try to get inside and Ali would keep him away with the jab, and that reach advantage would make that jab effective. Plus Ali can move his head very quickly, and can take one hell of a punch. He took Foreman's who hit harder than Mike. Study boxing 1st b4 making a comment like that.

  • tyson used to beat men way quicker than ali, if ali tryed the rope a dope he wud have been throwing up his lungs

  • Tyson did finish guys quicker. But his opponent were not at the same class as Ali's opponents. Tyson's punches are very strong, but he will where himself out. Because Ali can go the distance and Tyson can't. That's why Ali is a better overall boxer. Case closed. They don't call him the greatest of all time just because of his show boating.

  • the call him the greatest because he called himself that as a nickname

  • why don't you address EVERYTHING I said

  • look up ''ali on arsenio hall show'' and put on the closed captions

  • of course he is going to say that. Tyson was saying that Ali would beat him too. They were both being humble. It's called class. Don't get me wrong, Tyson is my favourite boxer, and in his prime I think his prime ONLY Ali can beat him. And in his prime Tyson is the 2nd best boxer in history. After Ali of course.

  • Pras is so inconsistent.

  • on the arsenio hall show ali kept sayin that tyyson wud have beat him

  • Thanks for posting this. What an amazing song about a great man..

  • mike tyson wudve beat his ass

  • Doubt it

  • he was overrated

  • Thanks for all the fine comments!

  • @2Shaymcn Youtube -

They Sold Their Souls For Rock And Roll

  • THE NAME OF THE GAME, ABBA.

  • i miss lauryn hill as an emcee

  • Very talented performer

  • This may be my favorite track by The Fugees, and this video is real good too, I miss the Muhammad Ali of back in the day, he will be a King forever, on point 90's hip hop, no doubt!!

  • Tune....

Say turn it up at 2:08!

  • THE G-O-A-T baby purely a black /god

  • PURE FLAMES!!

  • I didn't even know there was a video made for this tune, so I am glad to see it THANK YOU :)

  • damn! thanks so much for this!

  • q-tip has such a tight flow

  • T-pain kills in this track!

  • LOL

  • this is a tune vocals by all great rappers plus how to use a sample and make a new tune not rippin off the original.respect.

  • ali greatest of all time

  • Thanks everybody for your input!

  • Q-Tip's voice is so smooth. Built for rap.

  • who's the rapper who starts at 2.30

  • Phife Dawg from A Tribe Called Quest

  • this song is why I love hip hop

  • at 2:09 what song is Lauryn Hill trying to make reference to????

it's been bugging me so much for so long...

    does anyone know???

  • Juice Newton Angel of the Morning, I believe.

  • She is referring to both "Angel of the Morning" and the song "Send Me An Angel" by the 80s new wave band Real Life....

The bass line is sampled from the ABBA song "Name of the Game."

  • Ali is (still!!) a symbol of hope and pride, not only for black people, but for people of all colours, races and classes.

He made the world a better place.

And he is one of the coolest guys around, too!!

  • That joint is tight....just check the message.....it's about the message Black pride baby...

  • Pras is the weakest lyricist ever man, just has a unique voice. "Snake eyes, like Jake The Snake".......thats poor man. Almost as bad as that Clipse lyric "I'm like a hammer that you hold in your hand, I make hits"

    Jesus.

  • that Clipse line's not all that bad... the Pras one, on the other hand, is embarrassing.

  • "I´m so mean I make medicin sick"! Muhammad Ali seems to have been the first rap-artist!

  • Oh my god, my ENTIRE life (I'm 26) I thought he said "I'm so mean I make Madison sick" and I NEVER knew what the hell it meant, something to do with America I thought.

Today you have educated me, how the hell have I heard that phrase so many times and not realised he said medicine!!!!! OMG.

  • @petemakky Wow...LMAO!

  • am I the only one who really like this?! :) I think it's really cool with the Fugees sampling ABBA. and also a bit of 'angel of the morning' is in it, right Shay?

anyway - it sounds great :)

  • I think its just you and me so far Elin!

I hear a bit of 'Angel..' too

  • I like it too (Big Fugees-Fan back in the 90's!!) and "The Name of the Game" is my favorite ABBA-Song! :) To bad they split up, but they build up great solo-careers. Thanks for the trip back in time. ;)

  • Cheers, The Fugees had alot of talent and some good tunes

  • Sorry Shay-Susie has said what I wanted to say-this can stay in the back of the cave (although an important part of the history of Abba music!) lol (the phrase "whizzing on a Picasso springs to mind!)

  • Cheers Bill I have to throw in something 'left field' now and again

It comes form a very good documentary about the ALI v Frazier 'rumble in the junjle' fight from the 70's

  • I really don't like this song... (but it isn't my taste of music;-) lol Greets Susie

  • No problem Suzanne its an acquired taste

but its ABBA reaching out to a new audience

  • Hmmm, I had no idea there was even an Abba sample in this tune until you guys said, so I wouldn't say its Abba for a new audience. Just thought it was a well produced Fugees tune. I do like Abba by the way! And Fugees of course. Can't compare the two really!.

  • Yeah first time they allowed a sample, thanks for the comments
