Great fishing! My family owns a house in Queens Landing (I think that's what it's called) and we fish right in our backyard.
I remember only catching 12 inch croaker one time in late May with my Dad from the shore. This was about 5-6 years ago. We haven't seen them since. What does it take for croakers that big to come inshore?
Saltier water? Just curious and thought I could ask you for some knowledge.
Croaker are good for nothing fish, I would rather catch a rock.

I tested intensively about cooked shrimps for croakers.
Cooked shrimp is better for several reasons
1, It is cheap - I buy salad shrimp from Costo or local Grocery.
2. user friendly - for alll age and sex because it is clean and doesn't smell and refrege-able in the any refrigerator with food
3. it is firm - it stays long on the hook better than
4. Buy a big bag and carry a few dozens for the trip
5. Cooked shrimp works better than raw shrimp
