@Elyseon Oh man!! You are SO right to compare to Evangelion. This is taken directly from Space Runaway Ideon. The GOd Machine is self aware and super strong and it gets so mad at both sides of the conflict, that well, you get the ending you just got. Great stuff!!

Woah, woah, woah the 'Idiot' just killed everyone in Super Robot Wars........DAMN! At least with Evangelion everyone would have turned into liquid with the possibility of being reborn...didn't Guy, Ryoma, Shinji, Kamille, Koji, Amuro or someone planned to kill Cosmo before he destroyed the universe, boy the Invaders from Shin Getter robo must have loved this ending. :D

@David315842 The ending of Ideon gives the possibility of being reborn too. All the souls of those who died are led on to a new universe to be reborn going along with the theme of death and rebirth used in Ideon.

@HeirOfSparda That would be fine except they were not reborn! For all we know if they came back as totally different lifeforms! The bottom line is Tomino wanted them all dead and never wanted them to come back! They even brutally killed children, yes I know it was trying to look realistic, but deep down Tomino was depressed and that's why he did it. Therefore to me Ideon (or Idiot as I call it) was the worst robot anime I can think of. It should be sent to the scrapheap by the SDF-1 Macross!

@sparkingsupersonic I heavily doubt that's true as Gundam and Ideon are two seperate entities, both are by (at the time depressed) Yoshiyuki Tomino, but I think the guy had enough sense to keep the two entities apart and rightfully so as Idiot was a bit of a waste of time, IMO.

i read somewhere about this game, that there are multiple endings for the ideon ending, one of which does not destroy the entire universe. from what i read, this is the bad ideon ending (not for the ideon series, just for super robot wars, not for the anime). last words if this happens: i hate this job, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH­HHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!­!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this is the 'bad ending' which you get if you choose the first option after scenario 56 (not the one Bright asks, the one before).

the proper ending of the game has the Ideon gang surviving and turning their attention to the STMC and then Keisar Ephes himself.

lol, Ideon's explosion ended the whole universe..didn't believe it after I read about it on wikipedia but after seeing that? I think we should all be grateful that double-edged mech isn't in any more SRW games. It'd destroy us all. Though I still think GaoGaiGar would stand a chance against Ideon..if it makes contact using Goldion Hammer bfore Ideon explodes takes us all with it!

Basically what happens is that Keisar Ephes emerges from the destroyed universe perfectly intact and proceeds to turn all of the dead spirits to Neshamas. Making him the god of the known galaxy.

You get this ending by finishing the game at stage 56 (as opposed to stage 60). So, they never knew who was Keisar Ephes.

@AstralKnighto This the Ending taken from the series "Space Runaway Ideon" Basically, everyone dies cause The Ideon ( self aware super robot) self destructs killing both the enemy and it's user alike in the series. The Baby at the end is called "Messiah" and he leads all the souls from both sides to a new start..Great show!! this ending is appropriate..but, it's also considered a bad ending and you should avoid it. ^_^

Ideon might not have destroyed the universe in the anime, but it had the potential to do so. Ideon was a mech that contained the Ide (infinite energy.) It's perfectly plausible that when unleashed, Ideon could have destroyed the universe. And despite the homage to the anime with this ending, the Super Robot Wars Alpha universe could have ended in this ending.
