Vitali Kilischko is an outstanding Heavy Weight champion. I have never seen such a tall boxer have such balance and co-ordination and power - exception of Lennox Lewis. Vitali has a much tougher chin than his brother Wlad and you so this in their fights with Corrie Sanders. Sanders rocked Vitali, but Vitali took the hardest hits and kept coming on to get the TKO. Sanders knocked down Wlad and Wlad was wobbled and out on his feat from then on and was KOd
One thing that people also have to realize is that Shannon Briggs was a spent force before this fight even happened and Klitschko was just too much for him. Having said that, even though the HW devision is in ruins right now you have to admit that both of the Klitschko's are very underrated even for today's heavyweights. They maybe champs during the worst time in HW history but i'd still rate them as greats just due to their level of skill.
@xBMF9000x oh i agree with you 100%. its not your fault when your era is weak like marcianos but doesnt mean you're a garbage fighter either. the klits could of easily been in there and beat as many of the 70's heavyweights as there was.
@drepop803 right, this is a time where you have to look at the individual fighters, not the devision as a whole. If Ali had been the only real HW contender during the 70's people would say the same thing about that era as they do about today's and not even realize how great Ali was. As I said, you have to look at each individual fighter. The Klitschko's haven't even lost a round since they won their titles. Thats one hell of an accomplishment and Vitali has never even been knocked down.
@xBMF9000x once again what you say is the truth. if ali were fighting now they'd hate him as much as everybody hates floyd. but yeah if his era sucked they would of ignored his skill and said he, him, and them would of beat ali. its easy to see that the klitschko's are VERY talented fighters. they got my respect and i hope wlad beats haye so he can hopefully earn his from others.
@drepop803 Yeah, me too, but I don't think it'll happen. When Wlad beats him, Haye'll just say that Klitschko fought like a chump and didn't take any chances in the fight and he'll say that he (Haye) fought like a champion should. You see it from people like Haye all the time. Excuses, excuses, excuses. But maybe he'll surprise me and be humbled when the fight is over. Who knows? I'm not holding my breath though. I think the Klitschko's will always be chasing the respect they deserve.
@xBMF9000x they'll get their respect when they retire. ppl are still stuck on the past. when they become of the past maybe just maybe they might get their respect. u watch alot of boxing? ive done amatuer when i was a teen. it was a great experience and changed my thinking process alot. about fighting and life in general. i always wanted to go pro but i left it alone. it still itches at me tho.
@drepop803 I've done a little boxing, nothing major though, just local tournaments and stuff. I do still watch boxing a lot. My channel has primarily boxing videos in its playlists. It's hands down my favorite sport.
As much as I wanted Vitali to win this fight, I must say I was very angry with the ref and Briggs' trainer for not stepping up and putting and end to this massacre. Regardless if Briggs said stop it or not, you gotta now when it's in the fighters best interest to stop the fight. I wouldn't be surprised to see Briggs lose to C level opposition after this. He really took a severe beating in this one....
@nachoman083 -yeah but true champions have compassion for their opponents. Same thing with Pac not trying to KO Margarito... a win is a win without really hurting the other fighter...
@YouGotJEWD October of 2010. This doesn't even show a third of the beating he took from the Vitali; afterwards Briggs was brought to an ER with: a broken orbital bone, broken nose, tore legement, concution, and 2 more injuries I can't remember, and had to stay at the hospital for 12 days until he could be flown out to the US. If you wish to watch this fight then I must warn you that round 10 and 12 will be very difficult to watch because Briggs is just taking a power shot after a power shot.
Thanks

This fight should have been stopped. Shannon Briggs didn't have to take that kind of a beating.

At what point do you think it occurred to Briggs, "Maybe I shouldn't have pissed this guy off so much by running my mouth?"
