I'm torn between this guitar and the Modern Tele plus. I already have a les paul and want something different for some blues, classic rock, and country. The triple bucker seems interesting, how does it compare to a standard humbucker? For blues would the Modern Tele plus get a better classic Jimmy style sound or will the jazzmaster pickup in the Marauder still do the same?
@upnorthbacon Just to throw in my two cents... I own the modern player tele+. I really like it, but the pickups left a lot to be desired (replaced lately with GFS liverpool, lipstick and fatbody). Style of tone aside, the marauder seems a bit more "complete" out of the box.
@dodgebee440 Yes it would be great for playing grunge, the unique body lends itself well to that style and the triplebucker sounds killer for heavy riffs.
You may not know about these kind of tunes, but i'm in an indie rock band, and i was wondering, is this good for covers of songs like the arctic monkeys, vampire weekend, the libertines and such like? Thanks for the video :)
Sweet man thanks for the info. I spotted this guitar at guitar center cause my friend told me about it. I will be getting this around Christmas hopefully. It's affordable too. Can't wait to play it at guitar center.
Are you going to review sometime soon the modern player telecaster? Is the Modern Player Series now replacing the Squier Classic Vibe Series? I was planning on getting the Jazzmaster after the holidays. I was really digging the Classic Vibe Series.
@guitarjammer1 I will be demoing the Modern Player Tele very soon, the Modern Player series is part of a new Fender line, and won't replace the Squier Classic Vibe series.
A Jazzmaster pickup is not a P90. JM pickup has rod magnets while the p90 has a bar magnet and steel screws. They look similar but sound quite different.
Test played this guitar today when i was looking for a blacktop jaguar. This is a players guitar hands down. My fingers sank right into it. Awesome guitar for the price of 400 dollers.
I use a ds-1 with a lot of dist. does the triplebucker handle good the disortion? I know that the ds-1 is not a metal or heavy dist. but I want to know wath you think
@pablohammerfall The triplebucker is made for distortion! It handles it extremely well. The DS-1 sounded great with this guitar, the settings on the pedal in this video were Level: 12 o'clock Tone: 11o'clock and Dist: 1 o'clock.
@HenrySchecker It is a really fun guitar to play. The 5 way switch makes it really versatile, it has a great tremolo system which you can use to add a nice warble to chords and leads, or you can block it off. The Vintage Modified Jag is cool guitar too, we have one in stock and I'll be doing a video on it very soon.
is the triplebucker dirty?

@upnorthbacon The Triplebucker is a bit too hot. I think the Modern Player Tele would be better suited for the styles you want to play.

The 'Lake Placid Blue' model is more beautiful than Naomi Watts.

Does the triplebucker slot accommodate a humbucker should I choose to switch?
bigmuffexpress 1 month ago
@bigmuffexpress I think you might be able to put a humbucker in the bridge, you might want to run the idea by a luthier to see if it will fit.

Can this be used for punk? Like modern and old? Like blink-182 & dead kennedys?
MeJuan99 3 months ago
@MeJuan99 It can do punk very well, unique body shape coupled with the triplebucker will suite that style extremely well.

@hurpaderpp I think if you select the middle position on the pickup selector you can get those jangely tones

One thing though, it's a jazzmaster pickup in the neck not a p90.
