Just like my boss! No disrespect to anybody, but my boss is an ex-navy, only black male in the company, knows it all, type of guy. Oh! and huge chip on the shoulder kinda man.... I have wondered over the years why it is most bosses are idiots, assholes. It finaly occurred to me that they are simply un-intelligent people whose sole talent is the ability to take an order from their boss without flinching....even if it's unethical. People become managers because they really are not smart - that's for the first-line employees. In fact, they are chosen as managers by the bigger boss because they intuitivitly sense their lack of intelligence. Managers are a waste of money.

The micro-manager heaps the responsibility on you but gives you NO authority.

Here is an example. My friend a research chemist is given a huge amount of responsibility, but his boss, who doesn't know anything about chemistry, is telling him what kind of instruments he needs and whether or not the product needs more or less acid! The list goes on. So who has no authority but will get blamed for the company's failure to deliver? You guessed it.

I am a draftsperson and currently work with an engineer who is like this. I have been in two jobs now and in both I have found that the 2nd in charge has been a "micromanaging headache." For every one compliment there would be six to ten criticisms. And usually the heated criticisms would be minor, (i.e. using an "incorrect font", minor mislabeling, to not using "methods" that lead to efficiency (that IMHO would hinder my own efforts.) Great vid.

I start my shift at 2:30 and break time is at 4:30. I have to wait 2 hours to pee. Sometimes, he doesn't include me in important meetings. Should I quit my job? I'm very miserable here.

What is your job title? For example, manufacturing/assembly-line careers are not flexible with restroom breaks because it can slow down production. If you work in a standard office environment and do not need anyone to cover you while you are away, then you should have the right to go to the bathroom as you please. Anyways, your physical and mental well being comes first, so you should starting searching for a new job (don't quit though b/c you still have to pay bills).

This video reminds me of a boss I had. She was the worst boss I have ever had and she was the biggest micro manager ever. Paula definately had a mental problem along with hating women, dressing like a man and built like a brick shit house as she did alot of rowing. Her arms were bigger than all of the men in the office.
