Vocally, this is the best live performance of the song, not to mention the mix of the instruments, even though he can't get right into the song because he misses the cue when he unwraps the mic. VB always seems to be searching for the right notes. TC seems to nail it - and you may be right, she could have been hit with the shaker. Always an uplifting song.

man this girl from camera obscura really made a travesty of the female vocals in this rather excellent track. she pales in comparisson to victoria bergsman of taken by trees. gone are the coy and sensual vocals that is the trademark of victoria's vocal stylings. in its place is some cloying sweetness which made the track very sacharrine instead of charming. jeers to tracey anne!!!!

in the original version, Victoria (from The Concretes, and her surname is Bergsman or Bergman - not sure) sang, but in this version, it was Traceyanne from Camera Obscura. C.O. were on the same Laneway festival bill and Traceyanne is apparently, Victoria's best friend, so it made sense for her to fill in on vocal duties.

no, i don't think so, but traceyanne happened to be around cos Camera Obscura were also playing the laneway festival. victoria bergsman (from swedish outfit, the concretes) sang the original female vocal and traceyanne is, apparently, her best friend, so it all kind of ties in neatly together!
