i've hit the hundred mark for this (using the westersand merchant to buy pd's), and that chain is still going, gotta love the power of save states

do you mean saving the chain by not leaving westersand or actually saving the game? cause i found when you save the game it actually breaks the chain. which sucks. have to leave game paused when i'm not playing :|

I mean I use an emulator with this, so I don't have to save the conventional way, I can literally save the game in it's current state, and when I play it next, it's as if i just pause it, so i don't lose my chain count

if i get vann to lvl 99, does that mean all the characters will be at 99?

i've heard fran goes to 97, but if you get your xp a bit higher first, it should be fine

@Yorumi If you get lvl 99 before you get other characters. Also if you havent noticed when you get someone new like fran or bathier their 1 lvl above what you are. So if your 99 you get every 1 99 and guess what Guests are also lvl 99 when you get them.

@SeeWhatWeCanDo ah, i already gave up when i got to vaan to 24 i dont know why but when i do this, i dont get much valuable loots from the dustia(s) so i didn't have any money to continue. but yea all the characters and guests lvl are so high =D

when i try and do this dustia spawns once then when i zone out then in again he doesnt spawn again

@toxictorag the reason why is because you have to leave before the exp and lp numbers appear.

Forgot to mention - I haven't even "met" Penelo yet. I've done this prior to having her as a useable character.

I'm @ level 62 and decided to do my LP board. I had over 7000 lp but didn't even come close to buying out the board. I was able to expose all boxes to see what they were though. I buy my phoenix downs in Nalbina Town, just outside Nalbina Fortress (cut through Rabanastre and go through the Estersands). I think the merchant goes by the name of Portentious Provisions. Hope this helps.

What's the earliest level you can max out your license board using Dustia method. I'm 49 right now a little over 12hr and so far, I'm almost completed the augment. I have about 100lp left. Do you think if I reach like 75 I will able to max it out?

is this possible to do this with more than one person in your party? like, if one character's hp in a party of three is less than 10%, would dustia still appear when i walk into the corridor of sand?

I had the bad luck of getting a game over twice in a row when reaching 95 chains. I only use black magic on myself now, as it never get a double or triple hit. I know that changing the equipment cancel the double hit. So to people who didn't know or notice, when you hit yourself get in the menu and remove/requip your weapon. It'll prevent you from the frustration of getting a game over after 1h of chaining dustia non-stop.

Hello, I'm currently going through this at the moment, since you can go to the point before the sandsea there is a merchant there that sells Pheonix downs, and I don't think it counts as a town, so would that break your chain if you simply went to him instead? Just a thought, when I have time today I'll try it out.

It should work. I've heard others doing that as well, but in the long run, I find it tedious due to the traveling.

it is worth the wait if youre trying to chain for more drops, just be sure not to kill anything on the way or touch that save crystal

If not worth it if I'm constantly getting 99 Book of Orgain just from chaining 99 Dustias. The extra would be thrown out anyways.

Well I tried it for a while (getting to about 140 Dustia's killed) and I think it pretty much stuck at 3-4 books of orgain or a couple of flame staves, or a mix of both per drop. If you did end up doing it like this, chances are that you would probably reach a maximum amount of books about half way from using pheonix downs.

well, you dont need to kill 99 dustias to get 99 books, if you keep up a nice chain you should get 99 before you hit 99 dustias, but in the long run, if youre looking for more exp than money, then you should just head for rabanastre
