  • this is a powerful account. I am so very sorry I had no idea this was even occuring. this was not in the news. they kept this from the nation. there are so many Americans who would have stood with you. the lies and deceit was and is keeping us from helping each other. there are good people yes white people who are willing to stand with you. the powers that be fear your people otherwise they would not be hell bent on choaking your lifes blood off. we soon wil all be under the gun. wake up USA.

  • I hope and pray she is fine.

  • ... a thousand tears... a thousand smiles. Thank you, Arlette. You are a True Teacher for all of us.

  • "They are still here." "So we forgave them..always" She is so clear about how to act with spiritual progression. Lakota traditional ways....a path much needed in today's world. Mitakuye Oyasin..."We are all related"

  • Nature is wise.

  • Glad to hear that you are better. wish I could speak with you one day

  • Thankfully Arlette is alive and her cancer is in remission.

  • Sadly, Arlette passed away from breast cancer a few years ago. What a beautiful soul.

  • @loriannlocke Arlette passed away?

  • @aabrilamor She is alive and well

  • @videosphere so glad 2 hear that! thanks for the update! beautiful vids

  • absolutely gorgeous voice

  • I shed some tears of this story and for the suffering these people, our brothers and sisters (because we all are connected) and the world. But it also awake something in my soul, and what it awaken I will fight for- to never lose!

  • Thank you arlette, i have read russell means book and to hear that you have turned the goons around and show them love just astonishes me

I am british and all my life i have hated my own culture, the whole materialist thing.

I have always looked to your culture for inspiration.

Only now do i begin to understand.

  • The world could learn a lot from indigenous people but since we( most of the world) lives in this capitalistic hell, People and the Earth are often put aside for profit. That really makes me sad. :-(

Thanks for the wisdom and inspiration. Peace and Light ^_^

  • I like how she talks about Mother Earth in such a nice way. When people care about Earth it makes me happy knowing that someone actually cares about the land we live in. :)

  • she has a soft n gentle voice, i like the way she talks about mother earth, she reminds me of my nail's , and they tell why i should be thankful for life and things that mother earth gives me to stay alive

  • i cry when i hear her talk. you can see such pain in her eyes. so disgusting what has happen to such beautiful people. we are still doing it to them today. we have been wrong, we have to wake up and go back to the right ways.so disgusted with the treatment of all you loving people.. please understand some off us do feel terrible and want to help. you and your people are much wiser than us. so so very sorry.

  • @gipper086 Feel the same...

  • <3 Absolutely Amazing Woman

  • I don't know you, but I love you. And I agree 100% thank you.

    Robin Silver Lake, WA

  • Wow so beautiful what she is saying :) There is few of us where I live who feel this way, but I just felt less crazy.

  • Oh lah.. this woman is speaking my language.. what beautiful words of sincerity came from her life.. into the story she told... what beautiful wisdom, how blessed are her youth to have her.. she honor's her ancestors...

  • She is amazing & I Love her for saying that it doesn't matter if you no longer have your indian features and your skin is not as brown. I am part Mohawk and I carry little features of native american. My skin is white and I bronze in the summer, I have high cheek bones, high forehead, etc. My eyes are not quite the same but at least they are brown. Children are the most important! BEAUTIFUL IS ALL I HAVE TO SAY!

  • im a nomad- so if i resist- its quiet & on the run- am i a coward?- oh well- so sad the male way to fight- better that israeli & palestinian mothers & children JOIN IN A WOMENS NATION- all right--we can do it

  • Breathtaking Woman, Thank You. We are all connected, all things on earth and universe.

  • I love your words, dearest daughter. Thank you.

  • Arlette, It makes my heart glad to see you again--Thanks for changing my life with The Sacred Pipe. The weeks I stayed with you, your girls and Russell were the begaining of a new life for me. Hope Skip from Alabama still comes by. I keep everyone there in my prayers. Stay In The Circle, Mitakuye Oyasin, White Horse

  • Imagine---the values that speak from this woman's heart are the ones that have terrified and brought violence from "mainstream Americans" since the first colonies. We should wonder why that is, when everything she talks about is filled with love and family.

  • this bueatiful womans story is very touching.... i pray that native american peoples embrace islam and join us in the truth, and get back there god given rights as people and wonderful strong human beings.

  • the creation she talks about is awesome. it is a reflection of a creative, loving, powerful and good god

    Romans 1:20

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse

  • this was recommended to my account because I watched Olivia Newton John sing Advance Australia Fair...hmmm...what does this have to do with the Australian National Anthem....those crazy wits at Youtube...this was interesting tho

  • she needs therapy, for what happened

  • guess what road we're on...

  • i love u sister u no our father and have mothers Spirit these goons will learn there own pain remember theres no death in fathers Spirit

  • i love u sister u no our father and have mothers Spirit

  • What has been done to the Natives (all over the world) is evil and never ever understandable. I can only explain this by saying that people who kill are driven by non-human energy.

  • This woman deeply touches me. I feel so close to her, because I feel just like her and I always thought, my God, how can I live in a world when I am all alone with feelings like this? Natives, you are my spiritual family. Love you all.

  • She is a beautiful, enlightened being.

  • Keep dancing beautiful sister. Keep dancing and remain pure the way you are.

Don't cry. You are pure and have a pure heart.

  • Pure woman.

  • SHE GREW UP IN A VERY TROUBLED TIME

  • @trisgilmour , Oh. When was there a time that was not troubled?

  • @wontonga I THINK EVERY TIME WAS TROUBLED IN THEIR OWN WAY!

BUT THE ANSWER TO YOUR INTELLIGENT QUESTION IS NEVER

  • @trisgilmour - The Pine Ridge batttle in the seventies, wasn't even a hundred years after the US cavalry were murdering the Lakota.

  • @wontonga NOW YOU SEE MY POINT EVERY TIME IS MESSED UP AND IT'S EVEN MORE SO WHEN IT'S NOT EVEN HUNDRED YEARS AFTER

  • @trisgilmour Ha'oh

  • Just to hear about what went on back that really inspires me. What Arlette has spoken , kinda reminds me about what happened with my Grandfather in 1978. Gun, police, its that they stood up for what is really ours Arlette I really admire you and your memorie of what was and what it is today. Lets keep the tradition alive. One People, One Nation Thank Our Creator Much Love AHO

  • @RebekahC1987

Then as a child of God, you will know that nothing made of the Creator is "just a tree" or "just a horse" or "just a flower." God is in all things. Such language is arrogance. God made everything good, and he loves everything of the world. The Great Spirit, or God, has made us stewards of the land, I'm sure you can agree, and we are put here to protect the trees and the animals, we are here to respect them. There is too much of this talk, "cut it down, it is just a tree."

  • Arlette has it so right. Thank u for opening ur heart. Makes me want to do right.

  • chiefs tried to have their people more accepted by pushing his people to be nuclear patriarcal family- but this has disorganized tribe and made women/children at risk from men in family and also from outside- like with this white mans attack-makes too much dependence/attachment to men-so tribe is not priority-thats why the native power nation was broken up into individual families- each weak against the authorities

  • i love this story and the way she speaks makes my heart just love her .

  • Keep SHARING YOUR DREAMS.

Those who are willing to listen WILL HEAR.

They will start seeking more and more as time grows shorter.

Enough of the tears as you said yourself.

I am sorry for your loss.

As the White Christian man says, what doesnt kill you makes you stronger.

I believe the WOMEN ARE THE STRENGTH OF OUR FUTURE.

  • YEah the cottnwood is the most sacred. Why? ...Hidden inside this very sacred tree, there resides the wicahpi. As Lakota people, we know this.

  • Thank you for sharing your life, with us! you are a strong Lakota Woman. We will learn.

  • I was 1 year old when that hap...I have been drawn to it ever since...I do not understand why. I got to see it when my compny sent me out there in 98. I cried so hard. Dont know why. A friend said i may have been there. he called me an Old soul. Idk. But i have never felt at home like i did that day. So i don't know. But i remember feeling empty while i was going up to Minot. Never been able to get rid of it.

  • OK.

  • I don't know how to thank this brave woman for speaking, all I can say is she proves the forgiveness and strength that human beings can have. Thank you for uploading this, this is a message that should be seen by the world. I wish I could say more, but my feelings are beyond my own comprehension.

  • @MoonmothMedia This needs to be seen by all the world. Yes, this woman is so brave. The truth does matter. The light from it can not be forever contained, and it is past time for this new young nation, which talks of the American way, to officially recognize the American Holocaust.

When Arlette speaks of and to the trees ... my heart beats in tune. So sad, yet so glad to see truth coming to the surface, like bubbles in liquid going to the surface, unstoppable.

  • @Wolfiemouse I love what you said about the truth, makes me feel very hopeful that the truth will get out... also the way you said your heart beats in tune, I know exactly what you mean there, I've had that before. It's literally like something other than blood in your veins if you know what I mean - I think it's like an energy almost... great to see so many people come out with wisdom on these pages...

  • she speaks the truth this woman knows how to speak in a god voice and she is a sun dancer me to i dance for prayer it is the true way of life

  • I'm proud that despite being mixed, I have brown skin and intense Lakota features!

  • This video has had a great impact on me and my view on nature and the spirits she speaks of... she says some called her crazy, but I think she has these beliefs because the rest of us have been poisoned by the world and she, as a strong woman, has refused to accept the toxins the outside world contains.

If I could reset my mindset and create a new one, it would be the teachings of Arlette and her people.

  • We thank the great spirit that after more than 500 years we Natives are still here, from one tip of the American continent (Alaska) to the other tip (Chile). Maltiox Chaguee.

  • @Tohil9 Hey the Lakota are still here too! :)

  • Happy Thankstaking indeed.

This was a beautiful spirit to listen to.

  • This is very beautiful.

  • yeah...any closeminded person would call her crazy...i call her wise and very spiritual...all my relations...we are all related!!!I HOPE TANKASILA WILL PULL US OUT OF OUR RUTT...i was born in kyle s.d. in 1978...i can only try to understand what she and every1 else on the rez went through around that time...mitakuye oyasin!!!

  • CON CENT TRATION - A cons way of getting rich by the cent. Happy ThanksTaking.....America....

  • I have read all about this, but it's nothing compared to listening to her speak about it.... great video---she's a great speaker

  • Trying to locate Arlette Loud Hawk

    Please help me.

    Thank you!

    Tallkitten

  • Osiyo. There have been way too many injustices and tears in my Native American family. I love you and respect you all so much. You are always in my prayers.

  • MONEY - god of civilization that doesn't have feelings. Very convenient for people without a soul. You know when I feel really happy and free??? Only when I have day off, I can leave the city and go into a nature. It's about 24 days in a year...

  • I knew her from the Longest Walk in 1978, she was awesome, heard she had breast cancer. An amazing woman. I want to say hi to her and the Oglala crew, Kenny Loudhawk, Dewey Braveheart and the rest that made the Longest Walk of 1978 an unforgettable experience.

  • What a profound statement of renewal and forgiveness...she is quite a lady.

  • wasn't it 1973?

  • I believe that science and nature and the old understanding of who we are all work together. Only "pure" scientists and "pure" naturalists seem to think that the two are exclusive.

I can explain the stars with science and even predict their movements and changes. I can do the same with naturalism and through old stories and myths.

It's just a matter of what words I'll use to express observations and knowledge.

Anyway, I was just trying to point out that we all come from the same source.

  • That's because you know nothing of your cultural roots either. Learn about the Celts, the Norse, the Germans, and the Gaul.

Then you'll see that all of these cultures in the Americas, Africa, Europe, and Asia have the same basic roots.

Being Native American does not make this woman special. Remembering her culture is what makes her special. Find yours.

  • you could say all trees have he same basic roots. things that go in dirt to suck up water and nutrients.

but some trees blow over in a wind storm and some roots run deeper and they stand stronger. and all wood is far from the same.

continent full of people who can put aside their differences to fight a common invader, that is something rare and you do not see that any other place in earths history.

to sweep all culture into the same basic roots is rather ignorant and easy. thats my opinion

  • Every culture in the world has:

    Shamanism as its base religion.

Tales of a cataclysm, usually a flood.

A story of a civilization bringer and enlightenment.

Universal season, always based on 12, always in the same increments as the Zodiac.

And more. All human culture is the same at its root. We are all the same at our roots.

  • Arlette. You and your story are both beautiful and important. I will pray for you and your family. Be strong!

  • she is at a full enlighten state

  • At first I thought her a bit wacky, then I thought she was kinda beautiful. Good work!

  • i pick good cause thats MY NAME LAKOTA LAKOTA LAKOTA LAKOTA REMEBER THAT!!!!

  • Arlette has a beautiful soul........

  • " Once an indian comes out of ignorance and learns about his traditions and culture, its very beautiful". LMFAO!!! I love it!!! Way to go tunwin!!!

  • It is the 'systematic' global linking of greed (taking economic logic by the few from the many), selfishness (its only about me ego social heirarchies values and shallow belief) fear (of the loss of what has been taken by the abuse of trust and power over that it will be used on the insecure ceasars and their spoils). It is the institutional and structured 'whiteness' that is challenged by Indigenous peoples the world over NOT INDIVIDUAL WHITE PEOPLE. Stand with the Red people because they R U!

  • Arlette speaks with such articulation and warmth. She is a reminder of what the love of the earth and the love of people should be like.

  • so sad i am also crying now,why europeans living in america you so like to take there land. You not taken enought of these people, after centuries of genocide since the illegal europeans colonized america pls leave america give those people there country back go back to europe

  • No thanks, we dont need them back here in Europe :)

  • I honor the Standing People!

    Thank You!

  • in the name of the white stone stop hurting those people. i am white, but i feel ashame for that, why are you doing that.i am real real hurt. in the deepest feelings. stop stop

stop stop. they are hollyer then every thing that all white people ever saw on this world. they taught me ----MITAKUYE OYASIN----

    THE ONLY REAL TRUTH

  • some times when i think about our great big mother earth . i think she looks like this woman and i think she is crying in the same way.i wish the people arround the wold could see it.

  • the woman is great*****

saw this film alot of times

  • Why would anyone attack the Lakota?

  • they (the attackers) are those who wish to forget that they are related to everything. They are those who wish to forget for the sake of obtaining an easy life at the expense of "others". This way they have much pleasure and don't worry that their brother suffers. If they don't wake up they will have to go somewhere else to learn their lessons. The mother earth is ready to change, but these people are not. They will have to go.

  • Wonderful. Thank you so much. It is so deep.

  • pilamayaye, most beautiful thing i have seen in most of this life. it is so important to see and experience the Womens Voice, gentle strength and unseen reality. i will watch this many times

  • beautiful deep felt video! Thanks for sharing

    Fran

  • The tree theory doesn't sound crazy to me. I understand it very well. To me all dreams are messages. It is up to us to decipher them. I have tears for what Arlette has gone through. Just listening to her I feel the vibes of a strong women with powers. What she says is true. Know the Indian in you and always pray for balance, that way we are strong in blood. God Bless all Native Americans!
